Glad you're feeling better Berrie. I've just ben mega-busy today so no time for posting.
Oggs, there seems to be a lot of felting going on in your neck of the woods.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/05/2008 20:03

Lovely glass of vino for me tonight had nothing last night. I've given up on the not drinking in the week thing (no willpower) but I'm trying to only drink every other night, which is easier.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/05/2008 20:08

Watching Dr Who tonight.

oggsfrog · 20/05/2008 20:27

Glad you're feeling a little better Berrie .

Lyra, needle-felting is basically when you stab fleece very hard with needles to compact it into felt. I'm actually using mostly pre-felted felt to decorate a pair of dd's jeans for the festival.
I've cut out flowers etc placed them on the jeans and stabbed. The fibres are pushed through the denim and stick.
I'll post a pic when they're done .

Ooh, I've got some Dr Who vids that I've not watched yet. That bloody Tate woman is very annoying so they've been sitting on the shelf. I can only take very small doses .

LyraSilvertongue · 20/05/2008 20:28

You do get used to her. She's growing on me.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/05/2008 21:05

Dr Who was good. Peep Show now.

oggsfrog · 21/05/2008 06:25

I watched the oodosphere one - don't know what it was called.
I find that she'll be bearable for a while and it is Dr Wo, then suddenly she'll gurn and one of her characters will erupt and it becomes a sketch show. It spoils the flow.

What exciting chores/activities has everyone got planned for today?
Berrie - feeling okay?
Zeb, how did you get on at solicitor's?

Berrie · 21/05/2008 06:57

Morning.

Taking shorn ds to preschool...dreading that.

Plumber coming to change tank...house not fit for strangers...he'll probably turn and run away. Wouldn't matter but is new friend of dh's.

I need to do some planning as forgot I had a new pupil tonight when I had planning time yesterday and have not prepared.

Er...3 lessons this evening.

Get drunk again.

oggsfrog · 21/05/2008 20:36

'twas weigh day today... down another 3lbs. That's 12lbs altogether in 13 days. Not bed.

How did your day go Berrie, or are you still teaching?

Looks like it'll be another Dr Who tonight.

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 07:51

Well done Oggs. Is it feeling like it's worth it? Surely your clothes are looser.
Work day today
I so much prefer being at home. The early start doesn't help.

oggsfrog · 22/05/2008 08:06

Thanks Lyra .
Tbh I don' feel any thinner. Dh says I look it, but at the moment the only jeans I can get into are my ones with lyca so they don't feel very much baggier as they just stretch to fit me iyswim.
Day 1 of the festi here so I was up early again (6am). Need to go and let the chickens out and then feed dd.
We haven't had rain for ages but it's bloody cold. I've got both fires going.

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 08:11

It's quite bright down here. Was really warm yesterday afternoon. DS2 and I took some books to the riverside and sat in the sunshine reading (or rather I read Mr Men stories to him).

oggsfrog · 22/05/2008 08:45

Oh, it's sunny here too, but out of the sun it's brassic.
Just over an hour until the gates open and the unwashed hoardes start coming in .

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 08:55

Hope it all goes well.

oggsfrog · 22/05/2008 10:26

Just added pic of dd's jeans to my profile

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 10:31

What profile?

oggsfrog · 22/05/2008 10:49

Bum! Should be up now...

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 10:50

Wow, great jeans. You are talented Oggs.
Lovely pics of DD and dog. Not so sure about the one of Craig...

oggsfrog · 22/05/2008 11:21

Thanks, I am rather pleased with them. She's about to put them on so we can go and see what is happening.
We can't find her bloody hoop though so that's me stumping up another £15. I haven't got time to make one.

Have a good day at work [smile}

binkleandflip · 22/05/2008 11:41

jeans, daughter and dog - all look fab Oggs

Well, I have had my face lifted and have to say it looks pretty good actually - think I might be spending my lunch hour wired up from now on

Dd has now changed school and started at the fancy pants private one on Monday where the mums are so far up their own bottoms I'm surprised they can see to pile on the lip gloss - please dont tell me I have to turn into one of them now???!!

She's liking it but still crying EVERY MORNING when I leave her - as she has done since day 1 of nursery and ~I dare say you might continue to do until she's working lol

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 11:42

Why did you move her Binkle?

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 11:43

And how exaclty have you had your face lifted? Some kind of machine?

binkleandflip · 22/05/2008 11:51

We moved her because now I am working, we needed a good school that offered after school facilities. Her previous school is literally over the road from us and lovely and very highly regarded re: ofted etc but had no after school clubs etc until juniors.

The school she is now at is the school dh wanted her to go to from the outset and in any case he planned for her to go there for senior school so I suppose I have 'given in' if that is the right word and she has started there now which I think in the long run is better as it gives her more time to adjust.

I didnt want her to go from the start because it seemed so regimented in nursery and also I was against sending her just so dh's mum could crow about her GD going to private school (which she would) and didnt want it to be just for showing off purposes - which it seems to be by the looks of some of the posh-wannabe mums I am seeing. However, I was approached by a friendly normal looking dad this morning which was nice - none of the mums though - think it is because I'm not driving the right car perhaps I should take dh's chelsea tractor tomorrow to really fit in and dangle my designer handbag off my wrist - yes, they really are ALL like this

As for the face - I did non-surgical face lift training this week - it's using electrical probes - suprisingly painless and also suprisingly effective

Hi all - I'm sorry I haven't been around, I've been a bit pre-occupied. Sooo, news time. I found an ideal flat in the centre of town yesterday, went back to take a second look with a friend today and I'm going to take it. It's about 2 mins from work and 4 mins from DS's nursery, so I won't have to drive anywhere, which saves on fuel expenditure and gives me loads more time with DS each day. My sister's paying the deposit and rent for me to sort myself out, but having done the maths, things look pretty good, although obviously not flush.

I'm going to wait until after DS's birthday before I tell DH, but it means I've got everything in place from 1st June, just in case I get thrown out immediately when I break the news. But right now I feel really good and positive, but also scared, nervous and dreading telling DH.

Back to work, but I thought I'd just fill you in.

Binkle? Facelift? I'm hoping you don't look like that Bride of Wildenstein woman.

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 13:58

Wow, you're really doing it Zeb! Well done for being so decisive and putting your plans into action.
I've got a friend who's got an absolutely awful DP and she's been talking about leaving him for years but hasn't done anything about it.
Whewn's DS's birthday? Soon?
