Homicidal? Yikes!
You realise that if dh slips and lands on his axe, this post will be used in court! ....or maybe not Poor Oggs, hope you feel better soon.

oggsfrog · 01/07/2008 16:40

But I can't bloody find Cold Comfort Farm, the secret safe place black hole ate it remember?. Tsk!

Just been informed it's school sports day tomorrow and I now have to research the aerodynamics of paper airplane construction

Three more days until the school hols. Oh joy.

oggsfrog · 02/07/2008 07:32

Morning

Feeling chuffed with myself 'cos last night I installed a new hard drive and memory card on our computer! .
Yep. Me. Me, the technophobe. My brother was on the other end of the phone talking me through it but hell, I did it!

Had a lovely day on the school trip on Mon. The one day of the week that it didn't rain and the sun came out.
We pond dipped and then went exploring on the beach (one of my most favourite things to do).
I collected shells and stones and inadvertantly brought home in my pocket a crab who was living in one of them . Poor dead crabby.

Sports day today.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 02/07/2008 09:15

Oggs, that sounds like you had a wonderful day. Even if you couldn't find Cold Comfort Farm. I think Rufus Sewell is playing hard to get.

Sports day could be fun. Do you have to take part in a gratuitously embarassing 'mum's race'?

I finallly went to see SATC last night. Never being a huge fan of the programme, I just went along for the ride. But it was actually REALLY funny. So there you go.

LyraSilvertongue · 02/07/2008 10:46

I'm going to see SATC on Friday
Oggs, I have a similar dilemma to yours. I bought DP a watch to celebrate getting his new job. The battery needs replacing already at a cost of £30 which would be free if only I could find the receipt/guarantee. I know I put it in a 'safe place' but can I remember what that safe place is? No, I bloody can't. I've turned the house upside down looking for the damn thing. [tearing hair out emoticon]

Berrie · 02/07/2008 12:41

Morning all. My whole house has become a secret safe place. I can never find anything ever. It was my keys on Monday - couldn't go anywhere, turned out they were locked in my car.

I LOATHE sports day Hope you have fun though Oggs

LyraSilvertongue · 02/07/2008 13:55

It'll turn up but probably too late.
My brain is hurting from trying to sort out mortgages.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 03/07/2008 09:22

Morning all.

Berrie · 03/07/2008 09:53

Morning Zeb!
I've just left my boy at his new school for an hour for the first time!
He was ok actually but it would have been a different story had we not walked in with his friend. He had to make a quick decision whether to carry on with the fuss he'd started or follow his disappearing friend!
Just time for a cup of tea before I have to walk up and get him again!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 03/07/2008 15:56

So how did it go Berrie? Did he like school? And did you like your hour off?

oggsfrog · 03/07/2008 16:23

Afternoon

How did Little Boy Berrie get on?

Lyra I've not seen a single episode of SATC so won't be rushing to the cinema to see it. (actually the last thing I saw at the cinema was Chicken Little ).
Hope you enjoy it . I wouldn't mind seeing Prince Caspian though.... luckily dd has expressed an interest

Not feeling quite so fat bad now. Had weigh in today and despite the vodka and banana cake debacle I have lost another 1lb

How's the Atkins going Zeb?

LyraSilvertongue · 03/07/2008 18:20

Ha! I've found the bastard watch receipt. It was at the back of DP's wardrobe.

oggsfrog · 03/07/2008 19:05

Obviously!

LyraSilvertongue · 03/07/2008 19:33

Funnily enough, it wasn't the first place I looked.

Berrie · 03/07/2008 19:57

It was fine thanks. It wasn't exactly an hour off since I had dd but this evening one of the pupils didn't turn up so I hopped off to the allotment quick to plant some squash before dh and kids got back. Hour off after all!
Oggs, glad you are feeling better.
Lyra I don't think I've seen the back of dh's wardrobe sionce we moved in!

Berrie · 04/07/2008 07:28

Morning all.
What's on today and do you have plans for the weekend?

Today I shall do some cleaning...probably.
If it stays fine I will go and clear some brambles on the allotment.

This weekend we have noooooo plans.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 04/07/2008 09:24

Morning, morning. I'm all on my lone-some in the office today. So global domination is mine "mwahahahaha"! (That was my evil laugh. )

Errr. Atkins.... that was a wagon I've seriously fallen off. So I really really have to climb back on again.

Lyra, wasn't it blinkin obvious that the receipt would be buried at the very back of his wardrobe? Honestly, I don't know what you were thinking.

oggsfrog · 04/07/2008 12:16

Morning
Having massive clean-up/clear-out session as today is the last day I won't have dd under my feet for six weeks.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 04/07/2008 13:29

Six...whole..weeks...
Can't you send her out to work or something?

Berrie · 04/07/2008 13:44

Ok so swift change of plan. I've been to Ikea and the kids and I had lunch for around £6 very nice and not busy at all and...I didn't buy any 3 pack of scissors! Actually all I bought was a big storage box with the idea that I would sweep all the junk lying about the house for sorting out at a later date and hiding. Trouble is, by the time I had swept all the junk out of my car into it, nappies, wipes, letters from preschool, paintings from preschool, a toy keyboard, a plastic sword and scabbard, various soft toys and playmobil people etc, it was full and is in the porch (I use the word porch loosly as it is more of a broken glass and rotting wood, leaking construction....
Anyway, I have mown the lawn as it is better than cleaning....I do think I will have to do some cleaning...but I now have plans (for dh) for the weekend. Going to the tip, returning with a trailer full of compost (£10), trip to Ikea to purchase storage system for living room, trip to...don't know to get rid of family heirloom, oak sideboard that is lovely but does not hold nor hide enough 'stuff.' Followed by erection of storage system...er...bugger, ought to paint the wall first...ah well nice fantasy!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 04/07/2008 14:11

Sounds wild Berrie. I think I'll be stuck at the farm this weekend, trying to tidy up a bit before the au pair arrives next week. Personally I think she's going to take one look and head straight back to the airport, but what do I know.
But I fully intend to do a runner by tea time tomorrow to get home in time for the last episode of Dr Who...in peace.

Meanwhile, I've had an extremely productive morning organising my social diary for next Friday. It involves 4 different men. Is that wrong?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 04/07/2008 14:12

I'm sorry. Make that 5 if we include Wednesday night.

oggsfrog · 04/07/2008 16:11

C'mon Zeb, spill. 4 men in one day! How? Why? Who? Where? And what are you up to on Wed??

Berrie, I haven't been in an ikea for about 15 years . What's good to eat?
We need to go to get dd a mattress pad, so are making plans to go during hols. It's 1.5 hours away

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 04/07/2008 16:45

Ikea do deliver now - wouldn't that be easier, not to mention saving your sanity?

4 men, eh? Doesn't take me long does it?

Actually, they are all REALLY old friends. One's gay, one's married with 2 kids, one's engaged and loved up and the 4th is a recruitment consultant I used to work with. At our tender ages, the only friends you get to meet up with without monumental military planning (remember Joseph ladies?!) are men! All my girlfriends no longer live or work in London and have kids, so I'm resorting to the men instead. Oh, the 5th guy on Wednesday is also an old friend and definitely single, but he's single for a reason.

Thursday night we've got a work event in London (hence the 3 days), so we'll be indulging in a bit of schmoozing with one of Lyra's famous tv meeja types whose chairing the thing for us I don't think that counts as a 6th guy, does it?

Berrie · 04/07/2008 18:34

Oh which famous meeja type? More info Zeb!

Oggs, I wonder why you are so interested in what we ate!
I had a small portion of meatballs with the creamy looking gravy and cranberry sauce with chips. the children had the fish chips and peas. I enjoyed doing it more than eating it!

Ds has just learned to ride his bike without stabilisers! [proud emoticon] Sadly Dd and I were at the allotment planting the kohl rabi which I remember Oggs planting and so I got some and I've no idea what it is going to grow into.
