Ooh, forgot to say. Was weigh day yesterday. Have lost another 7lbs That's 1st 5lbs in 4 weeks.

Berrie · 06/06/2008 08:52

So would you reccomend the diet Oggs? Is it worth it? I'm not going to recognise you next time we meet.
The Doctor did suggest counselling but, through sobs I began to tell her how much I hated it and she backed off pretty quick. Thing is I don't feel ordinarily depressed, I'm not angsting over anything, it biologically switches on and off.

Last night was ok, it's never pleasant and she was a pretty big boss and very on the ball catching me out with a couple of questions. However, turns out she's been asked to find someone for a video on tutoring, presumbably part of some central training or information resources. Seems I passed and if they ask again she'll put me forward...AAAAHHHHH!

Nice to see you back anyway!

oggsfrog · 06/06/2008 13:45

I'm feeling much better about the diet now I've started having an evening meal. I think I stand a much better chance of seeing it through.

So yes, I would recommend it. It just needs tweaking so that each individual finds what works for them. Obviously no food at all was impossible for me . Not just the missing actually eating, but in terms of my body rebelling.
Technically I'm on Sole Source Plus, which is 3 CD's a day plus a 'meal' of some white protein (chicken/turkey/white fish/tuna) and a couple of tablespoons of green veg (broccoli/lettuce/cabbage etc).
I'm actually having 2 CD's a day plus the meal. Also I'm using my low carb experience to expand slightly on the allowed meal. I'm having a small piece of fillet steak tonight with salad. I'm using olive oil and wine vinegar as a dressing.

Ooh, so you might be on an educational/training video?
Did you keep the dress and shoes?

LyraSilvertongue · 06/06/2008 16:26

Well done Oggs! That's fantastic. I'm starting to see this diet in a new light. And it sounds so much more doable with the evening meal thrown in. Is it possible to do it from the start with two CDs and a meal? I think I could stick to that (not sure about the not drinking though).

Berrie · 06/06/2008 18:19

Nah, the dress and shoes went back. The dress was £20 nice but wasn't worth it for £45. The shoes are lovely but much too hurty.
Took dc to town again today to try and find something else but it's impossible with those two. MFL'sF says he'll come and be Gok Wan to my frump in need of a frock next week but time is running out!

oggsfrog · 07/06/2008 07:52

It's Thursday you go isn't it? Oh I do hope you get nice weather and have a lovely and relaxing time . I suppose you'll be 'off thread' until you get back?

Lyra, I shouldn't really be doing 2CDs and a meal as it's only with 3CDs thta you get your full compliment of vitamins/minerals etc. There is also the fact that when coming off it, unless you do the gradual re-introduction to cals/carbs, you willl gain 7lbs ish anyway (water/glycogen stores).
You don't have much to lose do you? Why not just restrict carbs, up your water intake, and do a bit more exercise?

Hope you're well and happy Zeb/Eugenethingy.

oggsfrog · 07/06/2008 07:53

Binkle, hope your hydraulic stool is satisfying

Berrie · 07/06/2008 08:53

Morning. Yes Thursday.
Lots to do this weekend. The allotment needs taming before we go away. The neighbours are having a party this afternoon/evening. We still need clothes...yikes!

Berrie · 07/06/2008 12:27

Lordy lordy...strimming and mowing took 3 hours. There are some Great Tits nesting in a plum tree which passed the time.
My seedlings are being eaten before they've started, my potato plants have nearly gone, I don't do slug pellets at home. What do you think I should do?

LyraSilvertongue · 08/06/2008 09:44

We have movement on the house conundrum. See other thread for details...

oggsfrog · 08/06/2008 20:52

What other thread?

LyraSilvertongue · 08/06/2008 21:19

This one. Same one I linked to further down this thread...

Berrie · 09/06/2008 07:27

Morning everyone!

Not sure I understand Lyra, you are going to put tennants in the new house or your current one?

On (another) mission to find some clothes for my holiday. I've been clothes shopping 3 times in the last few days and am about to drag dc out again. Yesterday dh got his clothes. He picked some, tried them on, dcided what he would buy and stolled out of the changing room saying that's the way to do it! He hasn't got complicated bumps to dress though. I am running out of tiiiiiime!

Eigenstate · 09/06/2008 09:35

Morning all. Just a quicky to say hi, but I'll catch up later. Berrie - men are just gits when it comes to shopping! Have you tried online, or is there not enough time for that.

I've decided my diet starts seriously tomorrow (ha ha ha) as I've still got DS's b-day cake to get through..... but I'm going to go the atkins route initially to get to the ke-wotsit state, then go from there.
Later

oggsfrog · 09/06/2008 10:29

That sounds like a good idea Lyra if you can afford it.
When today do you find out if your offer has been accepted?

Berrie, hope you find something. It's all a bit alien to me as we don't do holidays and only buy clothes as and when we need them, and even then it's from charity shops . I think you're very brave clothes shopping with the dc.

Hiya Zeb (sorry, can't get used to your new name). What sort of cake is it?

Eigenstate · 09/06/2008 12:16

It's ok, you can still call me Zeb. Maybe I should revert back to a variation thereof....

The cake was your basic sponge, with far too much jam, butter icing and chocolate icing. Very very yummy. But I'm now off to find a shop cake for DS for nursery tomorrow (his actual birthday), probably with a picture of Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder, Sportacus or whoever on it.

Sorry Lyra, I haven't read the latest on your house yet, but I hope it's all going to plan.

Berrie · 09/06/2008 13:39

I don't normally buy holiday clothes but something told me that since dd is 3 this year it's perhaps time to replace my summer maternity tops
I never have any luck with summer stuff as it reveals too much flesh so I usually stick with t-shirts and a skirt I got engaged in about 10 years ago!

Eigenstate · 09/06/2008 16:52

I hate summer stuff. I'm much happier in tights, formal skirts and jumpers. They hide so many more bumps and lumps. But hey, with Atkins, who knows.....
Sooo, breakfast tomorrow. Errrm. Poached eggs I guess. I don't think I'm even allowed coffee am I? Apologies in advance if I'm grumpy

oggsfrog · 10/06/2008 09:30

So, did you enjoy your poached eggs Grumpy?

Any luck with clothes shopping Berrie?

Lyra, was your offer accepted???

oggsfrog · 10/06/2008 09:33

Sorry Lyra, just read the other thread. Fools indeed. Keep looking, you'll find something else you love and everything will fall into place.

Berrie · 10/06/2008 10:00

Morning!
Yes I am kitted out by that famous designer, Primark!

Sorry Lyra, one day you will be in a forever house and feel glad!

oggsfrog · 10/06/2008 10:34

I'm sure you'll look fabulous dahlink

Eigenstate · 10/06/2008 10:55

Primark, you go girl!!! It'll be perfick for wayne'n'colleen's upcoming nuptuals! I bet you look great.
And I'm not grumpy yet. Scrambled eggs for brekkie. I was a bit naughty and have been drinking coffee, but at least it's black

Berrie · 10/06/2008 11:00

Have enjoyed mad hunt for missing passport this morning.
Brother in hospital in isolation for possible malaria, denuge fever or deep vein thrombosis.
Can't find ds's new sun suit and I have a dodgy tum.
'Part from that everything's fine!

oggsfrog · 10/06/2008 11:04

Oh no, your poor brother . He was in China wasn't he? Hope he's not too poorly.
