Men

Women who live with a man who they don’t believe is trying to murder them

Women who don’t believe all men are actually the spawn of Satan himself

Any conversation not about bathrooms/toilets

Women who don’t believe being a mother is their one and only goal in life

Kids who eat chicken nuggets and never hummus

Anyone with any responsibility whatsoever for a child that isn’t biologically theirs (you can’t sit with us “real” parents 💁🏻‍♀️)

Blended families before the child is 56 years old (selfish!)

Working parents (you must hate your children)

The working class (what do you mean your childhood home didn’t have a moat?!)

That hasn't been my experience, not that I've ventured into that part of the site for some time. I had posted a few times years ago and was roundly told I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about, so didn't bother with it after that. I read the recent thread in site stuff, or at least the start of it, and thought oh well, I shall continue to stay away then. I'm sure there are many more helpful, enthusiastic and friendly posters willing to have a debate on there than there are unpleasant posters though.

If it's ok to ask, I get if not, did you post about transgender issues or something else? I agree that the board could be more flexible. The issue though is that Mumsnet is practically the only place where transgender issues can be discussed with acknowledgement that trans women are biologically men, w all that entails. So posters are v keen to defend that, understandably. But I agree that bc it's a refuge from echo chambers, it's itself become an echo chamber.

Step children.
Being told the truth.
Sympathising/empathising.

Non feminists.
Smokers/vapers.

Edited

Not sure what you mean by more flexible, but there’s also the Feminism board that could be utilised more if one wants to discuss anything else than sex based rights?

@AliasGrace47 I can't remember what the posts were about, it would have been several years ago probably. I have trouble remembering what happened last week, let alone that far back.

But it’s irrelevant. Having autism is not an excuse for being an abusive prick.

Most of us with autism are perfectly nice, loving people. Most of us are far more likely to be abused than to be the abuser. Shitty behaviour is shitty behaviour regardless of the “reason”. If someone is autistic, it doesn’t mean their loved ones have to put up with being treated terribly.

Fucking say it louder for the people at the back! I find it infuriating when OP is describing her husband/partner being a shit head, and there's a chorus of 'he might be autistic (or have mental health issues.)' Or he's just a massive raging arse hole, regardless of any condition he might have.
