Not working
Being rich
Extra-marital affairs

please add to the list of things that, if mentioned in passing, are guaranteed to derail a thread.

Men and SAHM's.

DemonicCaveMaggot · 29/01/2025 17:30

Trick or Treat.

I am dual US/UK citizen so I avoid Mumsnet in October when the anti-US threads really crank up as the posters get to be rude about Trick or Treat and US citizens at the same time.

Mishmashs · 29/01/2025 17:30

Children being exceptionally clever.

maudelovesharold · 29/01/2025 17:31

People over 60 who still drive.

Newsenmum · 29/01/2025 17:32

Anything trans or non binary. Anything at all.

I agree with the not working. Work is everything and you must work all the time or you are vulnerable. Being a SAHM is nearly as bad as being trans. (According to mumsnet).

Oh and you must be married before you have children. Even if you also need to LTB. You must still be married.

Newsenmum · 29/01/2025 17:34

Obesity.

Anyone who isn't in the clique but has the temerity to post anything on FWR.

What does this mean, please?

willowbrookmanor · 29/01/2025 17:39

Depends what day it is.

Talking about certain celebs

Endless posts of:

WHO???

Never heard of them.

Teens that have sex.

Shouting or raising your voice.

Not being on the deeds of a property with your partner.

Noisy sex.

Encouraging kids/teens to be independent.

Not being able to see into the future when a partner goes rogue.

dramaaaalamaaaa · 29/01/2025 17:50

Sleep training a baby (even gently). HOW DARE YOU WANT TO SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT WHEN YOUR CHILD IS LESS THAN 5?!

Single-use plastic.

Our council recycles plastic bottles & containers. We just put all that sort of thing in the recycling bin along with tins and cardboard and stuff.

I've never understood it, either. No one here condemns societies where FGM is customary, but everything about America, from the cheese to the electoral college, is utterly deplorable.

It's not a welcoming environment for Americans. If I'm honest, I'm surprised that any of us are here.

We're just salty that we lost the War of Independence, and we feel inferior in the shadow of your boundless confidence.

How else are we supposed to get to work when we don't qualify for a bus pass yet?

Hubs
Mamma
Bubby/bubs

Also fatties.

An Op referred to herself as "chubby mamma" the other day and it was instant death!🤣

I now have Roy Orbison singing 'Chubby Mamma, walking down the street', in my head. Not sure if that's more or less offensive than Pretty Woman but it did make me giggle childishly. .

Not at all - posters generally just tell you "everyone does it and you're naive to think your work colleague/granny/vicar/best friend's dog doesn't".

Have a read of the 'FWR' thread in 'Site Stuff'.

Read somewhere the other day that about 60% gets shipped to other countries for 'recycling'. I also put plastic in the recycling as it has some chance at an afterlife...but not assured by any means.

RobinEllacotStrike · 29/01/2025 17:56

I've had American cheese and I don't think its any in way defendable (or cheese) 😁

Living rurally but not driving so you are totally dependant on your P who works 18 hours a day with a 3 hour commute.

I think our lot was one of the first few councils to start doing it, and they've got a long history of recycling round here, even got their own food waste eco energy plant, and all green waste is composted and used for municipal flower beds etc... Can't fault them on recycling. On the downside, the roads are terrible. 😂

Yes, the who's! Always reminds me of Margo Robbie in the Wolf of Wall Street:

'Who? Who? What are you, a fucking owl?'

ParadiseLaundry · 29/01/2025 18:05

Mothers with small babies using supermarket parent and child parking spaces.
