Anybody with Absolute Model Agency as they have a few agency around UK. They are opening a new one in north and just wondered if the are any good.

marymay · 31/05/2008 21:12

Luce2006..The little girl and boy were after my two and watched my ds have his photos
taken.
I dont think they let you buy the photos ( but im really not sure).
if they offer your ds a contract they will tell you more about how things work then.they did with us They are always happy to answer any questions i have even when i think i must be being a pest.
keeping my fingers crossed for your ds.

3kids1cat · 01/06/2008 12:37

Dd had photo's with UA yesterday. Everybody seemed friendly to me, think she did a few good pictures and she enjoyed it which was the most important thing.

Luce if they offer ds a contract, then when you pay the annual fee they give you two photo's from the shoot.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, hope to hear from them soon too.

totallyfloaty35 · 01/06/2008 20:48

Luce, dont worry,my 19month dd wouldnt keep still or smile,i had to wrestle her down.
I never got the chat when i first joned either. But they are really nice once you join, maybe Rupert was a bit rushed as Alysia was not around.
They actually turn down half the people at consultation though,i had to phone and ask if she wanted my dds as it took so long for a response and i hadnt thought things had gone well. But we did get a yes so dont get down hearted.
However if you dont click with this agency mot are lovely,Bruce and Brown are very informative in the early stages too.

ichef · 03/06/2008 13:50

Haven't been here in a while but thought I should come to share that I too took dd and ds for the ua consultation i think they liked ds a lot but not sure if they liked dd she had fun though and we met a few kids that have been with the agency for a while and everyone has good things to say so now i guess we just wait and see. can anyone tell me how long do they usually take to reply? do they let you know either way?

Luce2006 · 03/06/2008 14:57

ichef:good luck to your ds and dd.I really hope they'll be offered a contract.
I don't hold too much hope.
Does anyone know the full name of the photographer who took the pics? The more I think about the pics he took of ds the more I want them!!!

lisad123 · 03/06/2008 15:04

Hello Ladies

I was hoping someone here could help. Have been thinking about putting my girls inot modelling, especially DD2 who is only 8 months but put a camera near her and she smiles. Anyone recommend a good angency? We used to go with BIZZYKIDZ when DD1 was little but i want to try somewhere new.

Pics in profile if you want nosey

totallyfloaty35 · 03/06/2008 15:51

Photographer is called dan,he is alysias dh.
other agencies are mot junior, kids london, bruce and brown and norrie carr

Luce2006 · 03/06/2008 16:08

thanks totallyfloat35.
I supposed that unless they offer him a place I won't be able to get them...what a shame!!!

lyndall · 03/06/2008 16:37

ichef, UA telephone if they want to offer your child a contract and write a 'regret' letter if not. Hope you get a call!

ichef · 03/06/2008 16:58

thanks lyndall

lisa they're both really cute from what i've learned here you should try and apply to mot, bruce & brown, kids london, urban angels (afraid they just closed their books though) as they don't charge to join but then there are other agencies that are also good such as rascals, elisabeth smith and norrie carr can't think of any others.

anyone knows how much does tv work (commercial ads) pay in average?

lisad123 · 03/06/2008 17:11

its hard, because everyone thinks their own kids are cute, and dd1 was a baby when she was last signed. Do you think they would be taken on?

marymay · 03/06/2008 18:27

If i remember rightly we got a call within a week.
There isnt any set amount for tv work.My two have been paid alot and not very much.
I know that doesnt answer your question

brooke77 · 04/06/2008 07:50

hi lisa.. they are are both very sweet ! agencies want a range of different looking children so def go ahead and apply.. other reputable agencies are scallywags, truly scrumptious, kitsch kids (fairly new but have heard a lot of good things). all agencies have differnt ways of working/start up fees etc.. but you can get most info from their websites ! good luck.. let us know how u go !

brooke77 · 04/06/2008 07:51

oh yes.. also bubblegum
good luck to all for castings/jobs etc and those waiting to hear from UA !!

totallyfloaty35 · 06/06/2008 17:57

anyone hear from U/A yet?

3kids1cat · 06/06/2008 18:02

Hi TF, yes they rang this afternoon to say they would love to take dd on. I'm really pleased, and so is she.
Are you with them? How old are your dc's?

totallyfloaty35 · 06/06/2008 23:03

congrats. My dd has been with them since she was 6wks old,she has had about 10-12jobs i think and a lot of castings.she is 19mnths now.
They are very friendly and have a very gd rep in the industry,im sure your little one will do well.

ah2008 · 06/06/2008 23:41

Hi everyone..im new here!! i also went to the UA shoot on monday and still waiting to hear from them they say they will get back to me by the 16th. My son has also been accepted by Alphabet kidz and gave me till today to let them know if i wanted to sign up with them...my first choice will be UA but if they say no im sure AK will still take him on.gud luck every1

ah2008 · 06/06/2008 23:53

Just thought i will add..was also disappointed as i didnt get the chat about the industry and stuff like that that they said they will do in the email..they wernt really busy either! but they were all very nice.

JackJacksmummy · 07/06/2008 08:35

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice the other week for my DS Jack, Have phoned around for some application forms.

Also take a look in my profile for one of him with his natural curly blonde hair. (last time i gave you a pic of him in b+w with his hair straightened, that one is also in profile pics now too so you might remember which one i'm talking about)

BigmummaL · 07/06/2008 18:20

Hi there,

Haven't posted for a long time, but was wondering if everyone else with 2 yr olds was having much work?

Dd has been with UA since Nov 2006 and in that time he has had 7 castings last year and only 1 casting this year. He has also had one job with The White Company.

Is it generally quiet for children of this age group???

Luce2006 · 07/06/2008 18:26

3kids1cat: well done to your dd!!!
I remember rupert telling my dh that they were going to reply in order of age so I guess that I will get my NO letter early next week then...

totallyfloaty35 · 07/06/2008 20:01

Luce i waited 3weeks for an answer from u/a when my older girls applied i think they had forgotton us,as when i rang they said they did want them and sorry they had not called.
Bigmumma,my DD is 19months and has had a much quieter time of it this year, she had loads of castings last yr,at least 15,this year only about 4or 5 and 3jobs.But have spoken to lots of mums whos child has had much less this year.I wouldnt worry jobs/castings are like buses, you will probably get loads of em soon.

3kids1cat · 07/06/2008 20:31

Hi Luce, my dd is 5, your ds looks younger than that so I wouldn't rule it out just yet. I had a look on your profile and he is so gorgeous, I'd be really suprised if they said no.
Let us know when you hear.
