Have just had an e-mail from UA North. They are interested in DS and will let us know whether he has made final shortlist towards the end of August

CJMommy - we have just received that email as well applied as they listed Birmingham and Coventry and they are both closer than London.

my girls were asked to the casting on fri for debenhams - but i couldn't get there!! dd has shoot in W1 tomorow for a new girls mag anyone else going?

Notice you had replies from UA North how long did it take to hear from them after you sent photos through. I sent some photos through today but from the sound of it won't find out if they will take kids on until end of August which seems a long time.

Christabel..... think I sent photos about 2-3 weeks ago. Had thought, that as I hadn't heard anything, they weren't interested. I'm sure that they will have so many applications though so hang fire for a few weeks. The e-mail did say that although they were interested, we would not know if he had made the final shortlist until the end of August.

Gd luck all of you with positives from u/a,they really are a great agency,so i would hang on til august for a reply as they work a lot

Oh my dd would love to do a shoot for Hannah Montanna, she loves her. I bet that was a good day. My dd is also with KL and had her first casting last week with Debenhams. She did'nt get it, but hopefully it will be the start of many.

Can I ask advice of the mummies who's little ones model?

I applied to AK after they were mentioned here and they want to see my DS for an assesment end of July? However UA have emailed about there new division saying that they have short listed DS for going to consultation but wont find out till end of August? He has been to the photo shoot once with them and they then said no and recently was shortlisted but again got a no to going to the photo shoot.

Am I missing an opportunity if I wait for UA and then they say no? Should I just go with AK and see what happens?

I've decided against the other ones we have had yes's with for various reasons - so kinda between going for AK or waiting for UA and risking again they say no?

Sorry bit of a ramble but just wondered if some of the experienced mummies might be able to help?

hi tinkerbellechelle.. why dont you go along to the meeting with AK to see if you like them and feel they would be a good agency for your ds and of course to see if they accept him. Good luck with it !!

Brooke - Im thinking that it might be worth going to see them, after all they may not accept him LOL! and then wait and see what UA say?

just read your post re - agency dilemma!!
I have been with a few agencies to say the least with my ds's, One wbom is 17yrs and the other 6yrs old, we have been with ES, AK, BK and are now with KL, and this has spanned over the past 7yrs.
My advice would be to echo Brooke, and just follow up your options and get a feel for the agencies, but wouldnt put your all your eggs in one basketeither!!
AK dont have many kids on their books and do get the work in.
Hope Ive been of some guidance

tinkerbellchelle I would go and see what you think to AK because I wouldn't pin all hopes on UA the only accept a very small amount of kids onto there books.
I really wanted DS to go with ua so I waited and nearly turned down a yes from B&B then UA said ds was invited for an assesment then forgot to book him in before the books closed again? so he would of had to wait about 6 months for an assesment.
Luckily B&B still wanted him so we went with them.

To be honest Im not pinning much hope at all on UA as he has been for assesment before and got a NO, and then shortlisted recently and didnt even get to shoot - so Im kinda thinking that it will be a no again LOL!

I think Im gonna def go and see AK and see how that goes - they still might say no

Hi There!! We are still in Italy and won't be back until the 24th of July. We went to a casting for the Italian edition of Junior but didn't get the job
A well done to all the kiddies who went to castings and got jobs.

totally: We are still waiting to get the two pics and the password from UA. I am hoping that will get some castigs when we get back to the UK.
Tinker: I second Brook and Dancer. Go to the appointment with AK and then see.

Anyone had any dealings with any agencies in Manchester. With an agency in Manchester at present and DD only had one job in past 8 months, hate phoning agency as always feel like I am bugging them but from a phone call at least every few weeks to nothin in 5 months seems strange. Have applied to UA North but not heard anything yet.
