hi tinkerbelle.. shoot was super, great photogrpher and i get a very good feeling about kitsch kids.. the shoot was in a studio not in their offices so no samples of work around.. look on their website, their client list is up now.. reads very well ! good luck !!

brooke77 · 23/06/2008 07:51

ps.. personally i feel that often the agencies perceived and billed as the big four can be a bit misleading for others. not all children will be right for those agencies, but the modelling business requires all sorts of children.. therefore a lot of different agencies do very well.. it really is all down to what the client wants anyway, so as long as long as you feel your agency is working well for your child it really doesnt matter which one it is !!

tinkerbellchelle · 23/06/2008 08:01

Thanks brooke
Do you get to keep any of the pictures? I have just seen the client list and reads well
How long was you at the shoot?

brooke77 · 23/06/2008 08:06

no the photos are solely to go on the website.. but hey.. you dont have to pay anything for the shoot so makes sense ! we were there for half an hour or so and had a nice chat with sharon and sam too.. they are EXTREMELY nice people

tinkerbellchelle · 23/06/2008 08:08

Ahh that sounds good then
Thanks for answering Good luck with it, lets hope some work comes your way soon

tinkerbellchelle · 23/06/2008 09:17

Is there anyone who knows how long MOT take to reply to applications. A friend sent there daughters pictures in via post with a SAE over a week ago and have not heard back? Does anyone know if they take a while normally? Or should she take the no contact as a no.

Anyway better get on with some housework etc while little one is at nursery.

Thanks

Tinkerbel6 · 23/06/2008 09:56

Please people be aware, kk might be a new agency but no-one seems to know anything about them, there are mums on here who's children model and have said that they have never seen a kk model at a casting or job, a new agency will build up a reputation over time and so will their website and client list, but, just because there is a list of client names on a website does not mean that that client has used that agency, if you want to be sure do some investigation and contact the PR department of that client and ask them,.

If anyone isn't too sure about an agent then look at the alba agency, if you have any queries then contact them, the other link is shows the names of agencies that alba approve.

Tinkerbel6 · 23/06/2008 09:58

tinkerbellchelle a week is still early days, maybe your friend can contact them after another week or so, not with MOT but maybe someone from that agency can let you know.

tinkerbellchelle · 23/06/2008 10:01

Tinkerbel6 I said to her to give it maybe a week or so more Think she's impatient LOL!!! Arent we all LOL!

Have also just written on the MSN one, about KK and my worries? I know a couple of people feel they are a really good agency, nice people etc but its slighty concering me that no one at all seems to have heard of them?!?!

tinkerbellchelle · 23/06/2008 10:02

I just dont wanna be scammed !??!?!

tinkerbellchelle · 23/06/2008 10:18

anyway must get on and do the housework.

Good luck to anyone doing the EU video shoot this week, hope you have a fab time.

Good luck to anyone with castings/jobs this week.

Bye for now

tink6 - here here

CJMommy · 23/06/2008 12:09

Hello! Advice needed please!! We have been asked to go for assessment by Rascals and Bizzykidz have provisionally accepted DS onto their books. I have also sent some pics to UA following their request for applications from ooop north! Can anyone give me some info about Bizzykidz - is anyone with them and do you get a lot of work? Also do you know how long I should wait for UA to reply? Will they only reply if they want to see DS? Any advice welcome from those in the know!!! Thanks

brooke77 · 23/06/2008 13:43

tinkerbellechelle.. speak with M&S.. on a post on this thread someone spoke with a mum whose children were with KK and had modelled for M&S. I know of people who have seem KK kids at castings, maybe not the mums on here.. but there are plenty more around !
Tinkbel6.. has Alba website been updated recently???? I've never received a newsletter from them and I signed up ages ago !!!! They dont have Rascals or Kids London on their list of agencies and they are surely reputable agencies..
I always do my research as thoroughly as possible and if KK do turn out to be a scam I will be kicking myself very very very hard !!!
Gosh, really must get off here and do some work.. best of luck to all ! xx

tinkerbellchelle · 23/06/2008 14:32

Applied to ES this morning, and they have come back and said they would like to offer DS a place.

I think the thing with KK, is we all feel that we have to be careful. Im sure they are reputable and getting work for their kids, I just worry that quite a lot of people who have had castings/jobs lately havent heard of them.
I do think on the phone they were so friendly and helpful, but I just worry they seem quite unknown.

Good luck to all with whatever decisions we all take x

Tinkerbel6 · 23/06/2008 18:46

brooke I emailed Alba and got a reply of:

Not known and therefore we DO NOT recommend them ALBA

Its up to you entirely if you want to join this agency, but this is an open forum and there may be people lurking on here who are going on the information posted whether to go with a particular agency or not, there is a member on here who has contacted M&S and they have supplied her with a list of agencies that they use and kk is NOT on that list.

brooke77 · 23/06/2008 18:54

yes of course its an open forum and i'm only putting forward my OWN views on kk to offer any advice which ofcourse may or may not be helpful..
Often the lists companies send out when you request to know which modelling agencies they use are not so recent.. i also did this when i was looking for an agency for my dd and then when i followed this up and spoke with their art director/pr team, the list i had was actually quite out of date or not complete !!

Luce2006 · 23/06/2008 19:38

I remember contacting M&S and asking for a list of the agencies they work with and I remember not seeing KK on that list but even AK wasn't on that list and I know they do get work for M&S (mainly for the website).
I honestly had a very good feeling when Sam contacted me offering ds a place on their books and I am of the idea that a new agency has to start from somewhere, doesn't it?
it was probably the same with UA when they opened in 2003.
SO I do agree with Brooke77 when she says that sometimes the lists are not up to date and complete

dizzydori · 23/06/2008 19:52

I spoke to KK today and they said that they don't turn down many children who apply as they're looking for all different tyes of children. They say the children who do the best are the ordinary looking ones, not necessarily the archetypal pretty ones. Having said that they seem really approachable and flexible. And they have to start somewhere.

bogie · 23/06/2008 21:24

Hi all,
Just got back from the eu shoot Justin and his best friend went together and loved it.
Everyone was very friendly Justin was representing the UK and Connor was representing Ireland because they got so many good shots of them they then asked if we would mind them doing a couple of other countrys aswell (as kids had dropped out or not been very happy at the first shoot) so then they changed into cyprus and malta and did them too.
There was a lovley lady there with her daughter who go ton well with Justin and Connor.
There was also a foreign woman who turned up 45 mins late with a boy that was not very nice, he was quite a bit bigger than the other 3 and was smacking and pushing them.
He didn't stay long only for one quick shoot then they put him on a break and he didn't come back on set.

Just thought I would comment on the KK thing I would say be very very wary I and no one I know has ever seen this agency at any caastings or jobs (and we have been to a fair few!!) including the castings and jobs for the client list they have on there site.
To me it is sounding more like inspired kids did when they appered.
I don't know for sure of course but any agency that says it doesn't matter what the children look like seems a bit odd Because no matter what they think clients DO care what the kids look like.

tinkerbellchelle · 23/06/2008 21:45

Ahhh - bogie sounds like the EU shoot went well Sounds like they had a good time

Luce2006 · 23/06/2008 21:50

Bogie: glad to hear your ds had fun.
We were there this morning and my ds loved it!.He went to the test shoot on the 5th as well.
I know that the little girl was supposed to represent Spain and Cyprus ,the little boy ( I think he has an arabic name) Malta and Portugal, your little boy Uk and Poland and his friend Ireland and Austria. Maybe they just changed at the last minute considering that the boy who arrived late wasn't really up for it!

bogie · 23/06/2008 21:53

Luce did all the people there this morning have 2 then?

Did you manage to
keep the hats on everyone? Justin and connor kept theres on but the other 2 wouldn't put them on at all (I don't blame them it was boilling in that room!!)

Luce2006 · 23/06/2008 22:09

I am not sure about the other kids but my ds was Hungary at the test shoot and Sweeden this morning. The three little girls were Denmark, Greece and Finland.
.We went to the test shoot because we're off on holiday tomorrow but the little girls are all going back on Thursday so it's possible that they'll be representing another country (but I am not sure about this)
My ds doesn't like anything on his head but they managed to get the shots they needed with him wearing it. Was the same with the girls.two left early (they were very good to begin with but then got a bit grumpy)

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 23/06/2008 22:59

My ds is 6.5 mths old and I am always being told that he could be a baby model.I never give it any thought but last week a lady came up to the trolley and said what a stunning baby.

Hes still bald as hes very fair but has big blue eyes and is very smiley and giggly.

I would not know where to start.can anyone help?
