let us know how the shoot goes. I am very curious!!I think that if UA had said no I would have probably called kk again and asked them if they were still interested in ds.

I have 3dds that model dizzy,between them they have been with mot, kl,u/a bk and bruce and brown. U/A are by far the best but thats just my opinion. Some agents are very abrupt and you get the feeling they have no idea who you are and some agents dont even bother to answer emails.

I really liked the sound of UA as well totally. I have never heard a bad word said against them but sadly their books are closed . Oh well never mind! I think they open at the end of the year. That's ages away for an impatient girl like me. You've had loads of experience with modelling agencies totally so I'm really grateful for the advice. Will show my DP this post as well. It's good to hear from someone that's been there . Three dd's modelling?, that's work and dedication! I can just about manage one. My ds's aren't interested.

Well if I hear nothing from MOT, BB, KL. It'll be ES or KK. I also heard back from BK but I wasn't too sure as I've heard mixed reviews on them.It's this sole agency thing that throws me. If I make the wrong decision I may live to regret it.

you are better off being with a good sole rep agent than a non sole rep agent where your dd may get lost (amoungst the many more kids they have on their books).
ES are meant to be very good and really selective so you're off to a good start!
kk are doing quite a bit at the moment and they will be a strong contender for u/a before long if not already - they've got some gorgeous kids on their books!
Having said all that if es are interested there's a great chance that bb, kl and mot will be so I'd hang fire! patience will reward you!

dizzydori my ds is with bb, he does really enjoy modelling not sure how many years he will be into though. for us bb have been excellent, and had some great opportunities, plus really friendly and a nice team.

must admit i have never heard of kitsch kids till on here recently. i havent ever seen their names on the casting sheets and we have been to quiet a lot of castings this year. are they more theatrical or photographic? you could ask them for a client list or something - unless they have one on their site?

i really feel for new agents as it must be so hard to establish yourself in a short space of time - i am presuming they are new?

good luck in whoever you decide to go with - it took me 6 months to decide to to go with! i am glad i took my time!

hi dizzydori.. from what i have heard kitsch kids are fast establising themselves among the top agencies.. i think they have been around for 3 years now, there is a list of some clients on their website.. reads pretty good i'd say ! we had offers from other top agencies, but decided to go with them for one of my dc's for several reasons.. one of which is that they seem SUPER to deal with !
definately a good idea to wait until you get all your replies before making your choice.. often is a gut feeling though as to which agency will work best for you and your little ones !

brooke77 - i am a nosey person at castings i must admit - if i see it on the receptionist desk i have a peep if i can if i am in a queue etc. also sometimes at casting some agents like elizabeth smith, rascals, ts give you a book for them to sign to show you went to the casting. normally parents are holding them in the waiting area so you can see who those agents are. not all agents do this.

thats good if they have been going for a few years. it makes a big difference haveing a good friendly agency - so well done and roll on the castings/jobs for us all!

Thanks Brooke and Julie for the advice. I will wait and see what happens . Although I have heard BB can take up to 5 weeks to reply!

When Sharon called from KK she was so friendly and they sent a contract out almost immediately. I'm just hoping they're selective and don't accept everyone. The pictures on their website look great and the children are gorgeous. Their client list looks pretty impressive too. They're also pretty close to where I live!

But I'm new to all this and so far my gut is saying KK over ES (my dp is NOT in agreement). I'll wait and see what happens and let you know. Will wait and see if I get anymore offers and make a decision then. Good luck with castings and shoots everyone. It all sounds really exciting

BB much quicker to reply if you apply by post, with email can take weeks ! ES are selective, but they have a LOT of kids on their books and their fees are very high. They've been around for ever such a long time though so hugely establihsed in the industry, but the feel towards newer agencies is good too!! i think KK are not so much high end fashion as say KL, BB and for that reason the scope of who they will take on is much greater. Do remeber, you can go with any agency and have great success or no success whatever their reputation ! good luck with it!

Thanks Brooke, it's all down to the client in the end. Please let me know how you get on with KK as they sound great. It's true what you say. I have a feeling they'll rival the other big agencies very soon if not already.

Dizzydori: it took me a while but I think I can say for sure we met on another website.You asked informations about ES and I adviced you to try other agencies as well before making up your mind. I am under another nick.

Dizzydora, really wish dd was with bb but she has a good agent.
Es are a really good agent and dd has done really well to get a yes from them (only 5% do!), I'd consider them one of the very top agencies (from what I've seen and heard) the only difference being the high joining fees. But definitely wait and see - good luck.
Casting directors will be a bit stuck next week for 1-3 yr olds, so many of us (from here and NAPM) going to EU shoot hehe!

My ds is at the eu shoot what days are you there?

Brooke - I notice from reading this that you went with Kitsch Kids - how was the shoot?

Did you get a good feel about the agency? Any samples of work around or anything?

Just trying to find as much out as possible before we're meant to be going to the shoot in July and am still a tincy bit wary as they seem unknown by quite a few people on this site, and just wondered what your experience was

Apparently a couple of children have dropped out of the EU shoot and they are looking for some others to replace. If anyone fancies taking part (it really is a super opportunity !) you can email Tom Cross on [email protected] or call him on 07928088707. They need babies/children 1-3 years for the shoots on Weds 10-1.30 and Thurs 10-1.
