Over here! (Berrie waves)

Well I was supposed to be doing a mexican night at my house tonight - I sent dh to London specifically so we could have the house to ourselves - but I've cancelled now so I can nurse my pooch.

Lyra, a nearby pub is always a blessing. I feel we are kindred spirits once the drinks start flowing - it is great at the time but I have taken some silly risks when I've had a drink (who hasnt?) and I'll be much happier knowing you only have a two minute lollop home to contend with as opposed to our get together!!

Zebedeedoodah · 07/02/2008 10:37

Mexican night? What does that entail? I'm guessing way too much tequila and the odd taco to help wash it down. But dogs come first.

And my hormones are well under control today thank you. I'm too busy working on DEFRA records which is scaring the s&&t out of me.

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 10:39

Was out meet-up really only a week ago? Feels like longer. We really must do it again sometime.

Berrie · 07/02/2008 13:59

Well I just went to town to take my red coat back as it was falling to bits already and they didn't have any left and I got home and there are none online either and though I was in 2 minds about whether I should replace it with another since the quality was poor, I am now Please tell me you thought it was horrid

Also when looking for the receipt I found an old M&S credit note for £16 which had gone out of date. If it hadn't looked like a receipt, I wouldn't have forgotten about it and they now have MY £16 ! Is that my daft fault or shall I write to them? They wouldn't do anything in the shop.

The coat was absolutely terrible.
Write to them about the credit note. You may find a letter is more effective.

binkleandflip · 07/02/2008 14:19

I liked your red coat Berrie...I hope you can get another one or one similiarly nice, as for the credit note - I would write to them - what have you got to lose?

The dog is booked in for next thursday, meaning my IL's will need to pick her up when we are on holiday as she will have to stay in until after the weekend. I'm not one jot religilious but will still be praying to the doggy-healing angel () to make sure she is ok, can you all send happy thoughts too please!!

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 14:29

Sending good doggy vibes in your direction Binkle. I hope she'll be ok.

binkleandflip · 07/02/2008 14:33

Thanks Lyra

I cant believe this time last week it was all over either
It was such a good experience - I'm really glad we did it!!

Old fishface can go and boil her 'ed - the 'deidre's' had a great time

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 14:38

Were you nervous Binkle? You didn't seem nervous at all. We were all sitting there not knowing what to say then along you came and took charge of the situation.

binkleandflip · 07/02/2008 14:44

I was a bit nervous coming down in the lift but then I saw you and you all seemed so immediately familiar to me IYSWIM that I just thought 'lets not waste a minute!!'

I didnt mean to take charge I hope I didnt come across as bossy, it was just like "YES!! This is brilliant - we made it - we are here - lets get a drink and enjoy the evening!!" And we really did, didnt we?

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 14:45

Bossy? No

binkleandflip · 07/02/2008 14:46

that means yes doesnt it...?

I have been told before about this...usually by dd and dh

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 14:47

Bossy in a good way, Binkle.

binkleandflip · 07/02/2008 14:49

I wonder if we measured up to our personality test thingy that Zeb did with us...

Will have to review that out of interest I think! Do you think the others thought I was bossy in a good way too - I'm a bit embarrassed now

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 14:51

No, don't be mebarrassed. I don't so much mean bossy as bubbly. Me, Berrie and Oggs are quite quiet and I was feeling shy so we needed someone like you to get things going. i thought you were great, Binkle, honest.

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 14:51

mebarrassed. I'm all thumbs today. God knows where I'm going to get the energy to go out tonight.

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 14:52

So, the one day I manage to get online, all the perving stops

Berrie · 07/02/2008 15:32

Binkle No! You were great and like Lyra said we were sitting there like lettuces until you came and put us at our ease!

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 17:32

Not just lettuces, wet lettuces.

oggsfrog · 07/02/2008 18:05

Oy! Speak for yourselves

Lyra, a little treat for you seeing as how you missed out yesterday.

I've been in the bar tonight...

oggsfrog · 07/02/2008 18:06

woof! [

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 18:07

Why thank you Oggsy.
What bar have you been in? A real one or the MN one? Or do you have a Jack and Vera Duckworth-style one in the corner of your living room?

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 18:10

Ah, I see. You've got multiple personality disorder tonight

oggsfrog · 07/02/2008 18:16

The mn bar. I've been having a bit of fun following the asterix/asterisk last night.
Hope they've not taken it in the wrong way .

LyraSilvertongue · 07/02/2008 18:18

Oggs, you're a bit behind again. Damned dial-up
