Over here! (Berrie waves)

Yup. Cold turkey for me. Decided not to try too hard to restrict my diet as it will be hard enough without the booze . Will just try and eat lots more fruit and veg.

It certainly is interesting Lyra . Dd actually got up before 7am this morning so she could muck out the ponies with dh before school. That's a first, and it means I will have to get up even earlier from now on to ensure that I get my uninterrupted half hour before everyone else gets up

It can get pretty scary when it's very windy Berrie. Dh has reassured me that if a tree comes down it is unlikely impossible for it to come down on us due to the barrier formed by the other trees...

How's everyone this morning?

Berrie · 06/02/2008 09:04

Fine thanks...glad not to have a hangover like I did yesterday...it was an all dayer!

DS is off to preschool this morning soon and I will try to do some more work and amuse dd at the same time...

Maybe I should give up emoticons for lent

Berrie why were you asking if anyone had any HP dvds? Most of mine are videos. I do have the last 2 on dvd though.

Zebedeedoodah · 06/02/2008 09:39

Morning all. I'll join you on th cold turkey Oggs. Wayyy too much wine with my Harry Potter last night.

binkleandflip · 06/02/2008 09:42

I think we should have another meet-up round at Oggs', it looks amazing!!

I cant see your link to Jake - it comes up as 'forbidden'
How much do I want to see it now??? (Anything that is forbidden to me must be worth a look )

Zebedeedoodah · 06/02/2008 09:50

I got forbidden too. But if it's the one I saw yesterday, it's definitely worth a view....

I have to say, young (err, VERY young) Daniel Radcliffe wasn't looking too bad last night. Is that wrong? But Jason Isaacs was looking pretty good too, and he's a grown up, so that's fine. Phew!

binkleandflip · 06/02/2008 09:51

ooh yes, Jason Isaacs - he's lovely and also it is fine because as you say he is grown-up with REAL torso hair (not fluff) and everything - yum!!

Berrie · 06/02/2008 10:25

Oh I need a bit of scary film to stimulate some writing for my tutees. I really wanted the 2nd one (as I think that is the spider one)but I expect there are scary bits in the others?

Oh don't go having a shared giving up thing on me...I'll be obliged to join in and I'll never do it, then I'll feel bad...

OP posts:
Berrie · 06/02/2008 10:26

No idea who you are talking about again...apart from Potter himself...

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 06/02/2008 10:47

Oh shit. Bugger, bugger, bugger.

Just did what I vowed never to do again.... put some french stick under the grill then popped back here..... consequently was so busy googling for a good pic of Jason Isaacs that I failed to notice the smoke and have got crap sense of smell so also failed to notice the acrid burning smell.
My cooker was on fire!
The bread was well alight, flames were coming through the top of the grill and the kitchen looked like a bad case of London smog á la victorian times. It was so bad my eyes started streaming when I went in .

All windows and doors open; fan going; and two lumps of charcoal sitting in a plant pot outside the front door.

I'm a bloody liability .

Bloody annoying thing is that it was the last bit of french stick .

oggsfrog · 06/02/2008 11:02

I'm consoling myself with a chocolate biscuit .

Unable to find a nice pic of JI as he was when playing Mr Darling in Peter Pan (he was wearing glasses and looked lovely). Instead here is a treat for Zeb

Zebedeedoodah · 06/02/2008 11:05

Oh dear Oggs. Sacrifical burning of the french bread to the greater good of mumsnet.
Berrie, apart from Harry Potter where he's Lucius Malfoy - all long white hair - he was in tv's the State Within last year, which is definitely worth getting hold off.

Zebedeedoodah · 06/02/2008 11:07

I'm old enough to be his mother FFS!!!!! Nice piccie though.

binkleandflip · 06/02/2008 11:09

See, I find him rather attractive as Lucius But then...altogether now...."It's all about the hair...!!"

He always comes across as a thoroughly nice normal bloke in interviews too.

This thread is just turning into a perve-fest....it's no bad thing

binkleandflip · 06/02/2008 11:10

jason isaac - wet...do I get extra points??

Berrie · 06/02/2008 11:11

OGGS!
That is taking toy boy lusting TOO FAR!
I still think of him as being 11. I am shocked!

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 06/02/2008 11:12

huge hairy feet though - I sense a trend developing...

Berrie · 06/02/2008 11:12

p.s. re. french stick...you daft bat!

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 06/02/2008 11:12

Perves? Us? Nah!

But I would have to agree with Oggs on the Mr Darling with the specs thing.
Does that mean Orlando Bloom is at his best in LOTR Lyra? I think he's wearing the same wig!

Berrie · 06/02/2008 11:14

What is it with wet men as an object of lust thing? Is it the post coital sweat thing? You liked sweaty Lee didn't you? For me the sight of swaety dh does not make me go, phwoar but bleurgh!

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 06/02/2008 11:14

Its BINKLE you nutter!!

Think I prefer him in Pirates - LOTR a bit too long and
rapuzel-esque even for me.. and then the ear, you know?

It appears I find hairy hobbit feet attractive apparently but I have to draw the line at elf ears!

Zebedeedoodah · 06/02/2008 11:15

Thanks Binkle!

binkleandflip · 06/02/2008 11:16

...sweaty Lee.....

Did anyone see Point Break with Keanu Reeves??
The best sweaty man I ever did see....phwoooaaarrr!!

Berrie · 06/02/2008 11:19

Come on explain the sweat thing...?

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 06/02/2008 11:24

Keanu? Oh Binkle! How could you? Even Orlando Bloom is a better actor than he is. And we're all admirers of their talents before anything else
