I,ve been a mumnetter for a little while now and ive just had the most brian numbingly stupid thought. I was browsing through another thread asking how Suedomin was as she lives in indonisia(forgive me if im wrong), and it suddenly dawned on me that mumsnetters are spread around the world(the wonders of the www), i suppose i thought(stupid i know) that you all lived in the uk, so i thought id ask(if you dont mind) where abouts other mumsnetters live .I live in the south of England(south gloucestershire to be precise).

Futurity..thats where I live ...lovely Leigh On Sea!

Crunchie · 22/10/2002 09:40

Chinchilla, I didn't grow up here, dh did. He didn't go to school in Colchester though. We met in a bar in London, lived in Clapham for a couple of years and then moved back 'home'. It's really strange how all his friends form this area moved away after college and then as they have got married moved back near their parents. We found we were spending so much time here that we bought a place. SO saying it is great for bringing up kids here I love it.

West Yorks (near Huddersfield like PamT) but originally from East Lancs, followed by Durham Uni, Dallas as an au pair, London and Rotherham. Now that really does give me away....

bundle · 22/10/2002 10:06

bozza, what a fantastic pedigree!

Hilary · 22/10/2002 10:08

Oh Zebra, I would have been able to join you if this thread had happened a few months ago as I have lived in various parts of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire but I joined the north-west brigade in May - sorry, I feel like a deserter!

Willow2 · 22/10/2002 14:07

on warp factor five from planet plot.

Joe1 · 22/10/2002 14:55

Near Portsmouth.

bee · 22/10/2002 16:36

OK, Cambridge-dwellers, how about a meet-up before Christmas? Maybe Loch Fyne Restaurant (opposite the Fitzwilliam on Trumpington Street)
Who'd like to come? Lunch or dinner?

A quick skim through the list looks like it might be me, babster, glitterbabe, azzie, futurity, alibubbles, ticklebyday......

bundle · 22/10/2002 16:38

bee, I'm not a Cambs person - north London - but I had a TERRIBLE meal at Loch Fyne near us..have you been to the Cambs one?

bee · 22/10/2002 16:59

Yes, it seems fine here (excuse the pun!). However, not wedded to it by any means - actually now I come to think of it, a better place might be the University Centre by the river which has a fab restaurantif you're not in a hurry (!) and the best view in town.

Any views?

Lindy · 22/10/2002 17:10

Bee - can Suffolk dwellers be included in the Cambridge get together? I am about 2 hours drive away & would prefer a lunch gathering.

Anyone else in Suffolk?

bee · 22/10/2002 17:13

Yes Lindy - do come! When we have enough people, I'll post my email address and sort out details - I'd like lunch too.

Paula1 · 22/10/2002 17:38

Bayleaf, I live in the Main Road too, can't think where Tiggers lane might be though, was it a proper road or just a track with houses on it?

helenmc · 22/10/2002 18:34

I'm in Peterborough, but grew up on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon

Azzie · 22/10/2002 19:45

Bee, I'm definitely up for a meet-up in Cambridge.

mumsywumsy · 22/10/2002 19:54

Dubai , UAE !!!! Quite far from all of you but i think moms/wives/partners/better-half/kids/ family problems are all universal ...i love reading the discussion boards and have posted a few mesages ..i particularly LOVE the thread abt " A familiar gripe ...." !!!!!

bayleaf · 22/10/2002 20:01

Hi Paula1 - Dad was round today and apparently it was Teegers Lane ( also known as Gutters lane) but of couse to a child's ears that was defintely picked up as ''Tigger's''!! It was a track with houses down it 25 years ago(!) if you were going from north to south it was on your left slighly south of where no5 was/is! ( which apparently has a big red van on it's front drive/garden these days!)

Alibubbles · 22/10/2002 20:27
