Morning everyone!
Here's the new threadx

I took dd to the bhs casting pn tuesday. We haven't heard either, they said dd is skinny and she had a scrape on her face so not holding out to much hope but she also got a call for Junior on tuesday which is when the bhs job would be so maybe she will do something after all.

are you with KL, sorry for repeating myself I forget. We were the second in on Tues, where you there early as I saw a couple of mums with little girls? Werent the girls whom were casting lovely and very welcoming, they told me the shoot was going to be on the 19th now and not on the 9th, and would we still be available. They also said they were casting Wed. as well, looking for two boys/girls aged 6. Im not hoping either, as ds wasnt his usual self.

Aha! found you! I thought the mumsnet threads had disappeared as I was looking for child modelling not childmodelling! Durr....

He really enjoyed it and took it all in his stride but I was amazed at how quickly it was over! There were loads of children there and he hasn't heard anything since so I assume he was not successful but it was a good experience for him so he won't be too disappointed. Thank you for asking Marymay.

glad it went well.it might be a bit early yet to know if he got the job or not.
give it about a week .then i sometimes email the agency to ask if they have heard anything.i know ours dont mind us doing that.

Marymay what agency are you with, just to give me an idea if I can ask my ds's agency regarding the outcome of castings, we are with KL, thanks

I have emailed our agent to ask about outcomes of castings. They don't appear to mind either, we are with NC agency. I do make it clear on the email that I know they are busy and to mail me bk in when they have a spare minute.
Am off to update their agency pics in half term. Am going to make a day of it and am hoping to find time to visit the british museum while we are up there.

yes my baby models she is almost 1 now and started when she was 10wks old.What agents have said yes?

mummyeme are you in msn group? was just thinking if you are i coul join as have met you,

have you had anything ? had a few emails 2 and throw with bonnie, she is very good for quick replys, she said it is very busy for all ages at the moment with the run up of xmas, she wants me to update with some smiling pics, hard to get a niceone without messy hair, messy face, horrible back ground, or not looking....!
will try as on holiday next week so am bound to get some nice ones!
not heard a peep from sw for my baby, sent email with update pics and measurements and had a reply to say they would be done in september, sent email august so i probably need to measure her again!
dancerdeb you still busy? is there anything out in shops where we can see ds?
i could've done with something this week as not busy as work!! x

Dancerdeb ... I see from an earlier post that you were due to go to the agency photoshoot this weekend - did you go? If so, I am interested to hear what it involved and whether you would recommend it. (I am with the same agency). Thanks

yes, we went yesterday actually, and Sue Walker was lovely and welcoming.
The onlinemodel book works like this, they offer photoshoots once a year to their kids, but you dont have to do it. Then instead of you updating your pics they use their modelbook to promote your child. They also say that if the photos they take are not up to standard, then you get a full refund and dont have a place in the book, so we dont know yet how he went, should imagine will find out in a few weeks.
We did it because I thought it would nice to have some proffesional representation of my ds and maybe would give him more of a chance with castings/jobs etc. but really enjoyed the experience anyways. How is your ds doing has he had anything yet, even though very early days. Best wishes

Hello Dancerdeb, I am glad you both enjoyed the session. How long were you there? Do they allow you to keep any of the photographs or are they solely for the model book? If the model book shoots only take place once a year I will not have to make a decision for some months yet! We have had one casting so far but it is, like you say, early days. What about your ds - has he had many castings/jobs? It will be interesting to see whether you are much busier when you are in the model book. Thanks for getting back to me!

We were there for 2hrs, only because I went with another two mums, if not, youre lookin at about an hour, and no they dont allow you to keep the photos, you cant even see them, only the ones that they choose to represent your child. My ds has had 3 castings and 2 jobs which isnt bad according to other modelling mums, and Im happy with that, though it took a couple of months for him to take off, so no worries, it will happen,
