Ooo, can't wait. V well timed as just after payday and have underlined it on my new whiteboard! How do us offcomers find the restaurant, then? Hope it's a nice obvious one!

CAM · 11/09/2002 10:18

Scummymummy,
Looking forward so much to seeing you again! Al Duomo is very easy to find. I presume you're coming by train? Walk down Queen's road from the station (heading towards the sea) then turn left into North Road (by the big Boots on the corner).Walk down North Road until you get to Castle Square on the left( Natwest Bank is on the corner of this square). Turn left and you will see Al Duomo in Castle Square. It is next to the Brighton Pavilion Shop (which is next to, yes, the Brighton Pavilion). If you get lost, ask directions to the Pavilion, look for the shop next to it and you will find Al Duomo next to that. This all sounds as clear as mud doesn't it.

mabs

i'm really sorry but i'm going to have to pull out of this lunch. i've got a business trip abroad the following week, so feel i should spend the day with ds, as i won't see much of him the week i'm away.

apologies again and hope everyone has a wonderful time.

MABS · 19/09/2002 19:04

Hi - all , decision time please as we're getting closer to the date .... sorry I haven't been around much recently, ds has been poorly (just for a change)

October 5 , 1pm , Al Duomo Italian Restaurant- Brighton. Who will be able to make it ?

Really sorry to see everything that's happened with KS. We've had some great conversations in the past and she was trying to move to Brighton. I was looking forward to meeting her and very sorry she won't be joining us on the 5th.

Look forward to hearing from you all. Mabs

I'd like to come (it's MIL's birthday, but I could leave a delicious array of lovingly crafted cakes and flee to the station...)

MABS · 19/09/2002 21:23

Dannie - that would be lovely it you could make it. I'm very impressed, making cakes for MIL or will it be Marks and Spencer finest ...?

Are you in Sussex ? Look forward to seeing you.

CAM · 20/09/2002 10:44

Hi Mabs, I think you know that I'll be there! As for the directions I gave Scummymummy further down the thread, I have since realised that Castle Square has been changed to "Pavilion Buildings" (only about 10 years ago!!) so look out for that sign on the corner above Natwest Bank and you're practically there! PS What name is the table booked in and how will I recognise you?

MABS · 22/09/2002 15:15

Cam - table booked in the name of Brown . You'll recognise be cos I'll be the one with a large glass of vino with a straw.......

jodee · 22/09/2002 20:14

Cam, MABS - what's the rough walking distance time from Station to Restaurant, please? (How many are coming now, btw?)

CAM · 23/09/2002 13:16

Jodee, about 10 minutes if you're strolling, 5 if you can't wait to get there! Looking forward to seeing you!

MABS · 23/09/2002 20:19

Jodee,I think its about 7 or 8 in total , but am still waiting for all the others to confirm, looking forward to hearing from anyone apart from Custardo, you and Cam whom i'm counting as definite !!

OP posts:
jodee · 23/09/2002 21:34
