Are there many of us in this area ? Would a get together be appropriate ? Let me know if your up for it...regards MABS

Yes, Mabs, I definitely am! I sort of suggested a Brighton get-together on another thread but it went unnoticed as the thread was about something else entirely. I can't help being stupid, it just comes naturally! I have been to 2 fab London get-togethers and I think it's time to rival them on the South Coast here. We may even let the Londoners come down for the day - especially if its sunny.

MABS · 21/07/2002 21:50

Great Cam - lets see who else is around and get it sorted . What area's best for you ? Haven't been to a London get - together, I only discovered Mumsnet a couple of days ago ! Regards Mabs

I would prefer it to be in Brighton as I used to live there, now live further along the coast, but Brighton would be good for people to come from other coastal areas or London on the train.

MABS · 22/07/2002 11:58

Brigton would be best for me to - come on all you out there , CAM and I can't be the only ones near Brighton - can we

I'd be interested, my in-laws live in Lewes and we spend quite a lot of time down there. I'm away mid to end of august though

I'm a bit further along the coast - sunny Bognor. I used to work in Worthing and Brighton though.

jodee · 22/07/2002 23:03

CAM, would you let little ol' me come down from London for the day!
MABS, I went to the last London meet and would definitely be interested in a Brighton get together - much easier for me to jump on a fast train there than the hassle of tubes for the SW London meet up (not that I wouldn't have liked to meet everyone of course!)

Tortington · 23/07/2002 21:37

i live in worthing and would like to meet some peeps as have recenlty moved from up north, however i work full time and so this may prove difficult, however, that said its nice to know there are people in the same area who come on here, kinda comforting
am open to suggestions

MABS · 23/07/2002 21:54

Custardo - no I'm sure we can work someting out with your timings. How are you finding Worthing ? I know it well as I lived there for 8 yrs. Regards MABS.

debster · 24/07/2002 15:03

I live in Brighton but find the idea of losing my anonymity at a meet up a bit strange so would probably give it a miss. Sory guys.

CAM · 24/07/2002 18:00

jodee you absolutely must come, and bring all the other Londoners with you. The fresh air will do you all good!
Mabs, what worked well in London was a Saturday lunch time because then we had all afternoon to talk, eat, drink, talk, drink, drink...
Also easier for people to get home, etc.
It might be a good idea to do it in September after the school summer holidays. What do you think?

MABS · 24/07/2002 18:51

Cam - thanks for your advice, a Saturday Lunchtime in September sounds ideal to me and Bundle will be back by then .

It'd be great if any of you London Mumsnetters could join us - its quick on the train and the shopping's brilliant as well as the drinking establishments

What do you all think ? Anyone got any particular date suggestions ? bye for now Mabs
(Debster - I understand your point of view, but if you change you mind we'd love to have you.)

KS - You'd be very welcome , imposters from outside Sussex would be great. I'm very impressed...you and dh still have sex then

Tortington · 24/07/2002 20:46

LOL mabs, i am finding worthing alright lot of old people that look at me strangely as i roller blade past them! its such a better quality of life for us all it was a good move. yes a saturday sounds great

ScummyMummy · 24/07/2002 20:48

I'd love to come too. My bad friend has just diddled me out of the SW London one by having the temerity to hold her "going into hospital" get together on the same day so it'd be good to have this one to look forward to. A day trip to Brighton would be fab and I'm only about a yard away from Victoria so there shouldn't be any problems with the travelling.

MABS · 24/07/2002 21:03

Scummymummy - we'd love to have you join us... London's loss is Brighton's gain . Take care MABS

OP posts:
jodee · 24/07/2002 21:24

Thanks CAM, and great to see Scummymummy coming too, now to round up a few more troops!
MABS, I also like the idea of a lunchtime 'do', evenings not so good as I wouldn't fancy a late train ride back to London. Looking forward to it.

Rhubarb · 24/07/2002 22:13

No fair! I want to come! My bessy mate is going to a Mumsnet meet-up and I WANT TO COME!!!! Why oh why do I not live in Worthing??!! Have a great time though, thinking of you Custardo!

jessi · 24/07/2002 23:03

I might be able to come, some relatives live in Worthing so perhaps I could co-incide it with a visit to them too!?

MABS - Thanks for your message. Part of me would love to meet up with everyone but the other makes me worry whether I would come across someone I know!! I will be 8 months pregnant in September so I might be past caring about all that by then! If it's alright with you can I think about it some more before I make a decision?

MABS · 25/07/2002 18:45

Batters - a South London girl can definitely come - the more the merrier. Do you know Brighton at all ?
