If I can ditch ds I'd like to come too - but won't be able to say for definite until much nearer the time.

Rhubarb · 14/08/2002 15:16

I can't say for definite either I'm afraid. I am coming from Preston, which is a heck of a long way. If you are meeting at lunch it either means getting on the train ridiculously early or staying on Friday night with Custardo, which may cause problems in itself as dh often does not get in until 6pm, so I shall be arriving very late in the evening. I will watch and see what definite times are arranged before I commit myself, hope that's ok.

MABS · 15/08/2002 22:02

CAM- any inspiration for venues when you went to Brighton for your hair caut?

KS - Any progrees with the move down south.

Everyone else who can't commit just yet - that's fine, just let us know whenever. Regards Mabs

Hi Mabs, I thought about Al Duomo as it so easy for non-Brightoners to find? Also, if we want to we could always carry on drinking/chatting at another place after eating (lots nearby)if we feel we're outstaying our welcome. What do you think? Is Al Duomo bookable for a Saturday lunchtime?

MABS · 17/08/2002 19:17

Cam - good idea , i'll check it out - thanks

MABS · 19/08/2002 19:17

Al Duomo (good Italian) IS bookable Saturday lunchtime - surprise, surprise. I'll get it sorted as next week we're away for a fortnight.

So dear ladies - how many am I booking for ? Shall I do it for 12.30 or 1pm on 5 October ?

Regards Mabs (looking forward to meeting you all)

CAM · 20/08/2002 11:20

Brilliant! 1pm on Saturday 5 October would suit me very well, thanks Mabs.

CAM · 22/08/2002 11:42

Hope there are some more of you guys coming to the Brighton lunch in October - the more the merrier!!

Rhubarb · 22/08/2002 15:28

Sorry MABS, I haven't looked at this thread for a while. Can I just find out about trains? I don't know if they will be running properly at the weekends, I also need to speak to Custardo about possible bed/couch for the night. Can I let you know next week?

jodee · 22/08/2002 17:33

I'm really sorry Mabs and Custdie, but I have to back out. I just checked the trains and as some of my journey would be by coach due to the engineering works, it would take me 7 hours to get there at a cost of £50.54 even booked this far in advance. If there was another way I would be there like a shot. As it is, with huge regret, I have to say count me out, but have a brilliant time and maybe next time I can sort something out.

Jendy · 23/08/2002 14:29

I've only just looked at this thread, just wanted to say have a lovely time all of you. I'm a bit disappointed was meant to be going down to Brighton sometime end of September (I've not visited since 1991) but won't be now.

MABS · 23/08/2002 15:04

Rhubarb - really sorry you can't join us but I understand

crystaltips · 23/08/2002 16:56

WOW I'm jealous !

However don't think I can justify a flight over just for lunch!
Rhubarb - I was impressed that you were going to make such a long trip - just goes to show how dedicated ( and adventurous ) we can be !

Have fun guys - who ARE going. Those absent ones will no doubt be thinking of you and raising a glass too!
