...Shall we have our chat thread over here?

OP posts:

Yes I think it's two weeks that Edie is away.
Wow-how tall is your baby going to be??? Are you both tall? My DS2 was long at birth and is a skinny boy now (never got fat arms and legs).
DH is only away for a couple of days, I just prefer it when he's close to home. This is the 6th weekend in a row that he has worked and I'm really missing having him around-at least next weekend he'll be here and we can do things as a family -I got a bit tearful about this today (he really didn't need that when he woke up after having done nights!!)
I feel huge already, I think my stomach muscles have gone into submission 3rd / 6 th time around!

lynnec · 20/05/2007 20:38

Its just dh thats tall, hes 6feet4 and im a tiny 5feet2, so thinking its a very big boy in there.
Thats not so bad dh isnt away too long, though long enough when you miss him so much.
Measured bump today and its 45ins cant beleive ive gone from a 29ins waist to a 45ins surely it cant get much bigger????Im not even eating so i cant blame that just hoping theres alot of fluid in there, and not all baby havent put any weight on else where so cant complain.
How many weeks are you now Jossie??
Are you feeling okay, or do you have sickness??
Are you still working full time??
Im just doing my mystery shops, feel thats more than enough just now as my backs starting to get very sore as the day goes on, also enjoying my wee nap in the afternoons.
Well hope you are keeping well and taken things easy, enjoy your week.

Jossiejump · 20/05/2007 22:31

I just work two days a week, with the evenings home working and my other free lance job as well!!
I'm 13 weeks now, just a little bit sicky, mostly when I'm tired, but main problem is tiredness.
I'm sure the shape you are when pg is related to the shape of the baby with DS1 I was big all round, he came out short and broad and always grew out of clothes widthways when he was little (he's quite lean now), he weighed 7lb 10oz when he was born at 38 week, DS2 I had a waist whilst pg, only put on 18lbs in weight and was all bump, he came out long and thin weighing 8lb 5 oz when born at 39 weeks, still doesn't have a bum or tummy now and always grows out of clothes lengthways first!
So I disbelieve anyone who says bump shape indicates gender as I was completely differnt with my two as they came out completely different.
Do you know for definate that you are having a boy?

EdieMcredie · 21/05/2007 17:01

Hey girls, got back to Blighty about three hours ago. Holiday was lovely and also the wedding (DP's brother) was brilliant and very romantic. Did a lot of sunbathing and eating (all inclusive so 4 meals a day). Have a feeling I have grown a lot and baby has moved LOADS on holiday so that is good. She now responds to a tap on the tummy.

However we came back to some bad news...DP has been made redundant. He has known for some time that the firm has been in trouble but recently they have been seemingly doing well with DP getting lots of overtime.

We are in shock but DP reckons he can get some work pretty quickly and he will be paid 6 months pay aswell as dole money until he does find something else. He thinks he may get some work with his younger brother who is in construction.

Josie, Im so glad to hear that all is well with the scan...you must be relieved although I know what it is like to worry through each stage! Hopefully soon you will be feeling baby.

Lynne, Good news about the baby...better to be bigger than too small. Hope you can hold out to as near to EDD as poss! I don't think what you had were BH (although no expert). Maybe just baby turning (?) or everything stretching some more??

Anyway hope you are both well, catch up soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Edie, so glad you enjoyed your holiday, so sorry to hear about dp job hope he finds something soon.Good to hear baby is jumping about, mines still doing all nighters, infact dont know when it actually sleeps, now gettting the head popping out my belly.

Jossie we dont know the sex of the baby, just thought with all the brake dancing, allnighters and size it would be a boy although loads of people keep reminding me they had big girls.

Edie, the doc said the same about the bh, she said the pain isnt as severe with bh, so maybe you are right , lo moving etc, not had any this week, still feeling ok, although had a few mystery shops yesterday and i was so exhausted i couldnt beleive it, had to come home early. Going to pick pram today, well me and dh picked it a few weeks back, so just going to pay for it, THEY COST A FORTUNE £550!!!for the one we liked.

Well girls enjoy your week!
Edie when are you back at work??

Jossiejump · 22/05/2007 17:21

Hiya both
Welcome back Edie-sorry to hear about DPs job.
Lynne, my friend who has just had her third baby has been told by the midwife that the baby's sleep cycle is related to their movements when still inside she says she wishes she had known as she would have done all of her housework at night to lull the baby asleep, to prevent the broken nights she is having now!! Best to get up and lulling!!!
Good to hear about all the movements that you've been getting Edie- I can't wait for that reassurance, mind you when I was pg with DS2 he wasn't very active at all, I used to have to sit down at night with just a sarong on (it was very hot), listening to a relaxation tape, only then would he start moving-mind you he needs his sleep now (unlike DS1 who is up each morning from 4.30 onwards!)

lynnec · 28/05/2007 22:20

Hi girls, how are you both???
Ive not been around for a while, we bought another house to rent out, so ive been dealing with the tenants and paperwork etc, keep telling dh although i havent worked since december its been non stop dealing with tenants etc.

How are you both doing?
Neither of you have been around recently, so hope you are both doing well. Hopefully i'll hear from you both this week to hear how you are both keeping.

Ive been fine, had a lovely weekend, three of us went out for a lovely meal last night then on to see pirates of the caribean, baby jumped all the way through it...must have been all the loud noise and music.

Hope you are both keeping well x

Jossiejump · 29/05/2007 10:03

Hi Lynne
I'm ok, went out for a hen night on Friday-had plannedto come home from work have a sleep, do my hair etc, unfortunately the major road near us was shut off, took me 2 and three quarter hours to get home from work instead of 20 minutes, so I just had time to brush my hair and go out again, had a really good, but tiring night though.
Weekend has been very wet, went to a plane museum with the famiy on Sunday, whichwas nice.
How many properties do you have that you rent out?
Got worried that I was tempting fate on Friday as I talked unofficially about dates of leaving with my boss.
Hope you are both well

EdieMcredie · 30/05/2007 09:00

Good to hear from you both. I have been busy too working overtime and thinking/planning for the future. DP got another job so all ok there I think.

We are now in the process of selling our home to make some money in order for me to change career when I come back from mat leave. (Ill probably be taking drop in pay).

I think it's only 6 weeks I have to stay at work when I come back otherwise I have to pay back some mat money. We are hoping to make 50k out of this move and still able to live in a decent home. I want to go into property, ie estate agency or something. Fed up with having such a stressful job as a nurse and just know that my priority will be the baby and not work.

Josie how are you feeling?

Lynne, must seem strange now there isn't long to go!

OP posts:
lynnec · 30/05/2007 20:33

Girls, glad to hear you are both well. Jossie when are you back at the hospital??

We have 3 houses that we rent out and now looking for a fourth, it has worked out well for us as we managed to find friends/family to move into all properties, so we dont have the worry of tenants wrecking our property.

Edie, how far on are you now??

I cant believe i only have 8 weeks left
and given the baby is 3or weeks bigger than it should be....i wonder if i really do have 8 weeks left

Edie, thats brilliant your thinking of a career change, you should do it while you are still young. Good news about dp new job and on selling your house, will you move to a new area or stay in the area you are in just now?

Glad you are both well.

EdieMcredie · 31/05/2007 08:43

Lynne, we will be staying in the same area but if all goes according to plan we won't have any money worries and my debt will go.

Im now 25 weeks so still ages to go although only 10 weeks left at work which is nice. Less, if I feel like it...

Baby kicking all the time and have a sore stomach because of all the stretching!

Yes Josie how far are you now?

OP posts:
Jossiejump · 31/05/2007 18:48

Hiya
I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow, at my last scan the sonographer said she thought I could have another scan at 16 weeks if I wanted, but the lady booking me in (who I really disliked) said no-phoned the epu today to get another prescription of Clexane, but unfortunately the lady in charge wasn't in so I couldn't ask her if I could have another scan, but will phone again tomorrow.
Glad everything is falling into place for you both-I'm really envious of how far through you two are.
DH has been referred to the hospital for possible sleep apnoea-went to the doctor today, I'd sort of suspected that he has it for quite a while and the doctor thought the same!
Absolutely exhausted today-I got a bit carried away with planting veg on my allotment, I think I did a little too much -didn't do any heavy digging though-honest

lynnec · 31/05/2007 22:38

Good to hear you are both doing well. Jossie, take it easy in that alotment!!! I know how easy it is to get carried away and not realise how much you are doing. How is dh??

Edie, thats good you wont be moving too far away, and brilliant you will get your debt cleared.

I had gp today as i thought i had a urine infection, but all was well and its the lo resting on my bladder, also finding it quite difficult to lie down as theres times when i feel i cant breathe, the doc says its due to baby being so big and using every bit of space there is in there.

When do you plan to move edie??

Hope you are both having a nice week so far x

EdieMcredie · 01/06/2007 10:11

Sorry to hear you are uncomfortable Lynne. I can't imagine what that feels like, even at 25 weeks this one gives big kicks to my bladder and that feels bad enough!

We had house valued yesterday, was quite pleased although we are putting it on a bit higher than what they valued it at but estate agent says he is happy to be proven wrong!

Josie, soon you will be where we are, it goes so quickly doesn't it? I bet you are glad to be passed 12 weeks. Soon you will feel kicks I guess as this is not your first and that will be great and from then time will fly for all of us!!

OP posts:
lynnec · 01/06/2007 19:01

Thats good news about the house edie, and its the best time to sell! Up here we do offers over on property, i dont think you do in England do you??The offers only option is very good if you are selling but not so good if buying.

Think this has got to be my worst day yet, had a very sore stomache all during the night, and when i did get to sleep, woke up panicking, thinking something was wrong with baby, so stayed awake until i felt it kick, still got a very sore stomache today...thought at first it was more stretching but now feels as if ive eaten something, which is very unlikely as im struggling to eat at the mo.Also my legs were very sore today, they felt very heavy and i struggled when i went out to the shops, guess i cant complain when ive had it so good the last 7months.

How are you doing jossie?? Hope you are both keeping well, have a nice weekend. x

Jossiejump · 01/06/2007 19:50

Hope you are ok now Lynne-do you think it was the baby moving downwards, I know DS 2 did that quite early, DS1 didn't do it at all? Can you feel which way it's lying?
Hope you are alright as well Edie
Hope you both have a great weekend.

lynnec · 01/06/2007 23:19

Not so sure jossie, i did notice there was alot of movement last night, thought baby was going to pop right out my stomache, head kept poping out everywhere, so yes maybe you are right.Any time i have been to my gp recently the head was right down, including the other day when i was there. Not sure whats going on in there, even tonight theres alot of movement (big big movement)dh keeps saying it just wants out now.
Glad you are keeping ok.

lynnec · 05/06/2007 17:16

How are you both??? Just popped in to see how you were both doing and neither of you have been around.

Edie, not sure if you are preparing for the new house???? Have you got a new house, or saw anything you like??

Jossie, hope things are ok with yourself.

Ive been keeping ok, my legs are starting to feel very heavy the last couple of days, but apart from that ive been ok.

Hope you are both keeping well.x

Jossiejump · 05/06/2007 20:13

Hiya
Sorry I've not been around-went to Mum and Dads at the weekend and have been snowed under with work-to cap it all I've just found out that I'm being observed at work on Thursday
Have spoken to EPU and have got a reassurance scan on Monday at 2pm, they were really lovely and helpful. Have felt a couple of movements over the last couple of days.
Hope you are ok Lynne, have been really worried about you.
How are things with you Edie?

Jossiejump · 06/06/2007 19:43

Help!!!
I'm in a panic-I'm a recovering dental phobic, and a bit has just come off of my tooth, I can't have sedation and I'm in a real flap!
Sorry but dentists make me panic more than anything else!!
This is a nightmare!

EdieMcredie · 06/06/2007 21:13

Oh god Josie that's awful. What are you going to do? Do you have to go? Have you tried hypnotherapy?

Haven't seen any houses yet as still a bit early but will look if/when we get an offer on ours.

Im fine but feel very stretched. Don't know when to go on mat leave. Due Sep 13th and I was going to go middle of Aug but MW thinks this is too early?! Might try 1st August. What do you both think?

OP posts:
lynnec · 07/06/2007 19:04

Jossie, hope you are ok....im also terrified of treatment...not dentists as i go every 6months but have never needed any work as i make sure i look after them due to my fear of needles, edies right why not try some theraphy. Hope things are ok.

Edie 1st August sounds fine, never mind what the mw thinks, its how you feel! Remember the hot weather is coming, and i know im starting to struggle, although i guess your little one wont be a s big as my big one as the 2nd is always bigger. I had gp yesterday who just seems to get more and more shocked when she shes the size of my bump. She tells me theres no way im going to the end. Today i went away and got waxing seen to just incase of an early labour

Jossie, let us know how you are getting on.

Jossiejump · 08/06/2007 06:27

Hiya
Well I got through it all-after having a stresful day at work, dealing with educational psychologists, special needs children and being observed by my headteacher and someone high up in the County, I then went to the dentist and had the tooth filled. I've been working with my dentist for several years now and they got me last year to have a tooth filled without being sedated I think I was just scared of what treatment might be needed, as when she started drilling I was quite calm (she has said that I wll need more extensive work on it after baby has arrived, but I can be sedated with that). I have thought about hypnotherapy, but so far am making small steps bit positive steps towards improving with rather kind dentists!
Anyway, to cheer me up after that, my childminder, who is due 5 days after me has borrowed a foetal heart monitor which she lent to me ( I have never seen the point of these before), it was great, the second time I used it I heard the heartbeat amazingly clearly and DH and I got quite excited by it. We did try to work out the heart rate, but couldn't, although DS2 disproved what the midwives believe about hert rate and gender as he had a girls heartrate the whole way through. (He is very in touch with his feminine side though )

EdieMcredie · 08/06/2007 16:33

Glad you have it over and done with Josie. Good news about managing to hear the HB-sometimes it can be hard I gather.

Got my mat leave sorted, im off from the 9th July for a year!!! Got lots of annual leave to take, that's why it will be so long!

Lynne, is it the baby that is big or just the bump?

OP posts:
lynnec · 08/06/2007 18:52

Jossie thats good news, hope things are ok now.

Edie, not quite sure if its the baby or the bump, last week my dr examined me and said it was all baby and very little fluid, but yesterday i had my baby check up and it was my other dr she said the baby wasnt much bigger than it should be at this stadge and it was surrounded with lots of fluid. So...who knows!!!

How are you both keeping??

Edie thats brilliant news about mat leave!

Hope you both have a nice weekend, the weathers suppose to be lovely!
