Sorry about disappearance. Basically I had an opportunity to replace a colleague on secondment as he had to drop out. But I literally had two days to organise it. And ds1 who flew into Brisbane one day and then had to change all his plans to come with me to TOKYO 😃.

We have had the best time. Total culture shock. Immersive. Don't understand any signs. All the music/sounds/smells seem so different. I love it. People are wonderfully helpful, polite, funny. Things are very small if you're 6'3. (Not me but sonny Jim is). Loos are surprising.

at 'surprising' loos. I don't think I want surprising loos.
(We have snazzy new ones at work where they have an airlock and whoosh the contents out with minimal water use, but you sometime get blow-back when other toilets are used, and the lids have been known to hurl themselves open during flushing. Ick.)

Hurrah for DS1 being out in Southern Hemisphere now (and standing out like a sore thumb, height-wise)

I am hiding upstairs and working to avoid homework hell. That and the fact that DS is in a right grouch with me because he wanted a book which is out of stock. This is clearly my fault

😵 Helen on the blow-back loos. That's a real Russian roulette about who's in there and who flushes whilst you're in too isn't it? I imagine it alleviates some of the boredom of the actual job tho huh?

Yes, loos are amazing. Lots of different settings and wash/douche options. 😀.

So yes, I've only had work phone with sim and my phone has all my passwords saved etc as I can't remember them otherwise so couldn't check in.

We've had such fun here on our own. Soooooo lucky to have time together just catching up on many months of random chatter that you just can't do on Skype. He is an absolute magnet to men and women alike, and although I flattered myself thinking people would assume I was some sort of cougar, everyone seems to instantly recognise that I'm his ma. 😆. Mr C and the gang are coming on a Sunday for two weeks. Cannot wait. I must now go to bed. Love to all!!
