Have just been reading an article about 'The Dangers of Reading in Bed' Historical attitudes to reading in bed/in private etc.

It has a wonderful paragraph:
People feared that solitary reading and sleeping fostered a private, fantasy life that would threaten the collective—especially among women. The solitary sleeper falls asleep at night absorbed in fantasies of another world, a place she only knows from books. During the day, the lure of imaginative fiction might draw a woman under the covers to read, compromising her social obligations.

Who needs solitary reading to develop a private fantasy life? We have HBFs on TV and a whole internet of like-minded loons to help with that.

This morning I woke up, groaned at the pospect of getting up rolled over in bed, peered at my clock, groaned again and then staggered up to start another day because it was 6:45 and I was late... Got downstairs, staggered some more, fed cats, then looked at kitchen clock at it was 6:15 not 6:45. FFS. I am an idiot.
On the plus side, I'm an idiot who has time to muck about online for a bit and send off my application for making then re-write this film thingy
