Grin Somer, sorry to hear you are not well, but your DP does have a point. Can you imagine....? Envy
Allalonenow · 14/12/2016 19:56

B3 Can't believe your kitchen troubles, you poor thing! Cake
What about doing "Click and Collect" there should still be available slots for that, I know Sainsburys offer it as an option.
Having a smile at your lobsters, remembering all those old fashioned French and Belgian restaurants with tanks were you selected your own lobster, such larks when they fought back! Xmas Grin

Sorry to hear so many are poorly, lovely Zing seems to be running a laundry, hope you are over the worst now Zing.

iklboo · 14/12/2016 20:03

If they insist on a home visit Fids I'm going to insist on DH being here as my 'witness'.

Somerville · 14/12/2016 20:26

PD Don't say Pollyanna had a point - he's already in the bad books for being smug. And by smug I mean not being ill when the rest of us are ill.

But yes... good the water is back on. Grin

I can't get my head around how two dishwashers could break at once.

Fiderer · 14/12/2016 20:30

Somerville "Could be worse"? Heavens - have my poinsettia to lamp him with. Or wait, I may have a heavier pot somewhere.

Fiderer · 14/12/2016 20:32

iklboo Yes, do that. And casually and calmly declare you'll be recording the meeting.

Somerville · 14/12/2016 20:45

I found a worse punishment Fid - sent him off to buy me tampons.

I was jealous at your laminating earlier. I keep trying to think of an excuse to buy one - making bookmarks is it!

Fiderer · 14/12/2016 20:58

Was a bit worried when a parent called me over today and said, "I've heard about you" and I thought "Blimey, what now?" Was a bit defensive.

"She tells me you do such fun things and all about the laminating" Grin

Allalonenow · 14/12/2016 21:10

ikl Maybe it's time to contact your Union? I also agree about recording the meeting. Sorry they are being such crap with you.

I can kill a Poinsettia stone dead at fifty paces, no problem, it's a skill... Xmas Grin

OhTheRoses · 14/12/2016 21:23

Ikl pm me. Length of service, contractual sick pay, previous sick record. I do this for a living.

iklboo · 14/12/2016 21:32

AllAlone - no union, bit of a weird sector.

I've been checking the sickness policies. Apparently a 'capability meeting' is normal after 20 days 'long term illness' sick leave in 12 months. It's to see if they can do anything to support a return, make any changes to my environment & see if I am doing what I can to get better. Like I'd just be sat on me fat arse eating cake & watching Jezza Hmm

It's just the 'at home' bit that threw me - a bit invasive, I thought. BUT - I'm a sod for massively overthinking & worrying where it isn't due. I think my friend had one last year (in work though) - I'll text her tomorrow to see if she knows what happens.

Two GPs have said I'm not current fit to work, I've got a new health team after changing doctors & health authority so I'm waiting for a whole new batch of retests, rehab & physio.

HerRoyalFattyness · 14/12/2016 21:42

I want a laminator! I use one at work and it is loads of fun Grin
ikl I'd record the meeting too. It would throw me. I don't like people coming to my house. I'm already fretting about the absolutely lovely preschool teacher who is coming to visit on the 6th of Jan to discuss DD starting. I know the woman, she's brilliant but I still don't like people in my house!

Mummylin · 14/12/2016 22:20

BBB sorry to see that your kitchen isn't ready yet. Hopefully will soon be fixed. If not you and all your guests will have to have dinner in the caravan !
Fatty, I was planning on visiting you one day, now I'm not Grin

IamtheZombie · 14/12/2016 22:43

Movicol is doing its thing so hopefully tummy will be a lot better tomorrow.

Off to bed in a few minutes. Can someone please tell me NOT TO PANIC about the British Airways strike until the dates are confirmed?

OP posts:
PacificDogwod · 14/12/2016 22:49

DO. NOT. PANIC!!

It will all be fine - honest! Xmas Smile

I'm off to bed too.
How many sachets of Movicol are you taking now?
Any Senna for good measure?

Allalonenow · 14/12/2016 22:50

DON'T PANIC!

DON'T PANIC!

Sleep tight Xmas Smile

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 14/12/2016 22:53

ikl I'm not ignoring you darling, it's just that what you're going through is so far from my experience I have absolutely nothing helpful to say.

Big fist bump though, and (((Flowers)))

Come and visit me lin I love having visitors.

We actually cooked lunch in the caravan on Sunday and brought it round to the house to eat.

They all said it was fine, bless.
It was fucking horrible Grin
And cold (because himself insisted on walking round with it, my plan was to drive round in the car)

Poor Z is going to be exhausted just reading all this Grin

Hush a bye baby on the treetops ...

Gosh, can't imagine what made me think of that Smile

OhTheRoses · 14/12/2016 23:02

I am in bed. My own, lovely cool, soft bed. It has paw prints on it and the cat is in my suitcase. DH missed me but not the bags of "bloody shopping" I bring in constantly. You know the ones that bring beer and bread, and nice steaks and new china, reduced, Christmas presents - unnecessary stuff like that

Mummylin · 14/12/2016 23:04

It will all be fine Zombie ( crosses fingers and legs ) glad tummy bit better.
BBB , when I go on my travels Grin

Allalonenow · 14/12/2016 23:11

lin have you started your mince pie marathon bake yet?

HerRoyalFattyness · 14/12/2016 23:14

lin Grin to be honest it's more to do with the fact I live in a tip than anything else. With notice I'm not too bad, but I hate people just appearing on me!

derxa · 14/12/2016 23:15

I've never posted on your threads before but love to a fellow cancer sufferer. All will be well Flowers

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 14/12/2016 23:17

Have I missed something Roses?

You're not supposed to put cats in suitcases.

However many steaks there are in there to placate them.

Take the cat out of the suitcase.

Tell DH to stop being silly and embrace the shopping.

lin think DD is about halfway, we could do a prelim before embracing full monty Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 14/12/2016 23:20

Think should clarify.

Mean full monty meet-up.

Not your family version of full monty!

I'm far too shy for that Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 14/12/2016 23:44

Royal I know it's a personal thing you have to get past, but, a big but, people who are worth your time and attention won't notice or care if your house is a bit squiffy.

And anyway, we know it's not that much of a tip because you've posted pics.

Haha!
