Previous thread is HERE

Five years on from my first treatment, the options have pretty much run out.

Please join us for the rest of the journey. Doom and gloom is absolutely banned. There are still laughs and love to share and celebrate.

Blimey MNHQ are most speedy at deletions. Own fault all this synchronised stuff.

Will not Say A Word to the Fidlets. "Honestly Mum..." is what I do not want to hear at 6.00 am tomorrow. Little sods darlings.

PacificDogwod · 13/12/2016 20:03

What DID you say, Fiderer??! Shock

Darn you, RL, you make me Miss Stuff!

Fiderer · 13/12/2016 20:09

Most harmless.

YouTube link. But linked to my acct. Was v Zombie though.

PacificDogwod · 13/12/2016 20:12
Xmas Grin

Oh dear.
What a fright you must have had.
Here, have some Gin to settle your nerves

Fiderer · 13/12/2016 20:21

Aleppo: have 4 families next door in tears. I see and teach their children. Liaise with the local volunteer. The mums come and cling to me every day, hoping I can somehow change things. I can't. It's horrid.

Fiderer · 13/12/2016 20:24

Sorry - was v glum. Just the last few days the news has been awful.

PacificDogwod · 13/12/2016 20:26

I find myself almost avoiding the news - I cannot bear to dwell on what is going on in Aleppo/Syria; it is too horrid for words.
I am sure you are of some comfort to those people, Fids. You cannot do what they want you to do, but you care Thanks

DoctorTwo · 13/12/2016 20:49

Looks like you have a fantastic Xmas coming up Zombie, I hope it all goes wonderfully.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 13/12/2016 23:47

Sounds like a fantastic week Zombie, make sure you build in lots of rests for you.
We don't want you flaked out for NYE!

Flowers for you Fid and give some Flowers out for those desperate families.
That sounds really tough.

I agree with you Pacific, avoiding the news, too desolate.

I can't pack up and go there to help, neither can most of us.

I do send a drop in the ocean bit of money now and then but that feels pathetic and a cop out.

Be welcoming and friendly when they get here is all I can think of.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 14/12/2016 00:48

DD1 was just asking if she can make a donation to "Syria". We are going to check out charities when she gets home from cadets later.

Really puts all my first world problems woes into perspective. Waaaah my house is messy waaaah there are too many boxes to unpack waaahDD2 didn't do her homework waaah bit worried about my DMum waaah

Zombie there are only 10 more days (9 in the UK)!!!!!

Fiderer · 14/12/2016 06:26

December must be the fastest moving month. In contrast, February crawls by. And November could do with a kick up the arse.

In happy news, FidGirl's mean teacher is off today - yay! Bi-annual parent/student/teacher meeting with the nice one in a couple of hours.

And I will have no students at school today. I can do worthy office stuff/lesson planning - no. I am going to play with the laminator.

We got a new one and I've spent hours this week (and it's only Weds) laminating Christmassy things with students. We've done cards & decorations & bookmarks. I was given one as a gift yesterday - "Marry Christmas MsFid" - must work on spelling after the hols)

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 14/12/2016 09:33

Susie
😂 just imagine if we did turn up

PD

I don't watch the news, I wouldn't function (anxities).

Since last Wednesday every single one of us has been visited by the D& V fairy. That includes PILs & DM, who is here to visit.
DS1 was last man standing, but threw up last night while we were dealing with sick MiniZing.
I've done 16 loads of washing just since Saturday....

And we won't be back home for Christmas as builders & plumber are now sick too and there's just no way that even 1 bathroom will be done. At least I can stop stressing about not knowing 😉

Hurrah for 10 (or is it 9?) sleeps left Zomb, I hope you are keeping ok. Xxx

FuckitAndStartAgain · 14/12/2016 09:40

HI Zombie

We have met over the years and I am both saddened and heartened by this thread. Brave decision well made. BUT My real reason for delurking is food. Someone, possibly the lovely BBB, suggested a Christmas food list and it did not have pigs in blankets on it. I am most concerned. Everyone knows the turkey takes second place to pigs in blankets.

I hope I have posted in time to avert this wrongdoing. I hope you and the kids have a fabulous achrsitmas and enjoy your visit to Stratford. Well done for accepting help when offered, you next task is to actually ask for the help. Bloody difficult I know.

Lots of love n slushy stuff, Fuckit

Fiderer · 14/12/2016 10:15

Yikes Zing That is the absolute worst.

I do love lists. And am v good at work with them. Fall down somewhat at home tbh.

What you up to today Zombie? Resting and Listing?

I've started a competition with FidGirl. When we're out & about & I mention buying a poinsettia, I say "No won't. I only end up killing them." I have grown plants and shrubs and whole trees from seed/cuttings, poinsettias elude me somehow.

So I bought 2 yesterday and we'll see.

Allalonenow · 14/12/2016 10:25

How are you today Zombie hope you got some rest overnight. How is your tummy doing? If you are able to have a "main meal", maybe having that at lunch time and have a light snack later in the day would help you stay comfortable? Just a thought.
Your Stratford trip sounds wonderful, one of my favourite places to visit, I love the Dirty Duck! Once I sat with Bernard Levin to watch a production. and another time tried on one of Dorothy Tutin's costumes.... Happy memories!

Is your kitchen fully functional yet B3? I do hope so, as I bet you've got hoards of people to feed. You need to make a list.... Xmas Smile

FuckitASA I love that you have posted about how pigs in blankets are essential!! Wine Xmas Grin

OhTheRoses · 14/12/2016 11:02

Morning Zombie. Are they ready for the wedding? Not long now until they're here!

Ha Hearts I just had a vision of you unpacking a full bin after it made a transatlantic crossing. I think of that bin often Grin.

Just waiting for DD to finish her final interview and get packed up.

iklboo · 14/12/2016 12:45

Hope you're ok today Zombie & resting up / moving along.

All you poor tummy bug sufferers - a speedy recovery to you all.

Phoned boss today. Apparently I've got to have a 'work capability meeting' - either over phone or they'll come to my home. So now I'm fretting over that - which exacerbates symptoms. She says it's just too see what they can do for me (been there) and what I'm doing to help myself (not a lot I can do, it's nerve damage with known relapse - I'm waiting on new health team getting gears moving).

Occ Health report does say my condition is classed as a disability under the Employment Act (or summat) but if worrying was an Olympic Event I'd be a champion. 'Tis the fecking season.....

Mummylin · 14/12/2016 17:11

fiderer I have bought myself one of those plants, but the last one I had all the damn leaves fell off and all I had left was the stem, I hope this one fares better !
I agree that you have to have pigs in blankets but we also like the cheese and bacon things too. They are delicious.
Still have a bit more shopping to do, has anyone here finished ?
Zombie, I hope your outfit is all ready for the big day, mine is hanging in my bedroom ! Hope your stomach feeling ok today.
ikl loved strictly blog, not many more for me to look forward to !!

Badders123 · 14/12/2016 17:46

Well, zombie I shall be thinking of the zombie kids on Friday on their special day but have succumbed to a horrid chest infection and with dh away and all the school Xmas stuff to do I'm now flagging ConfusedSad
I don't think I will be up for drinking or indeed being awake by then!
So I will take the opportunity now to wish you and the zombie kids a very happy Xmas and I hope all the plans go well.
You will all be in my thoughts.
Love badds
Xxxx

Shock can't believe I forgot the pigs in blankets Fuckit!

Tbh I'd rather have those and scrap the turkey.

No, Allalone kitchen still not functioning at all! 'Probably' will be all singing and dancing by Saturday midday.

Only 7 on Christmas day, and 11 on Boxing Day.Son was supposed to be researching how to keep lobsters alive for 3 days haha, but I suspect it will be soup and cheese.

I have lists coming out of my ears, have missed all food delivery slots as didn't dare order with no to put things.

I'll have to do 2 or 3 big shops next week. And then there's presents!

Please can you all stop saying "only 10 days to go" eeeeeeeeeeek!

I hope you're resting Zombie and roping in lots of help.

Fiderer · 14/12/2016 19:25

iklboo - 'work capability meeting' sounds flipping awful. I'd write it all down (all report details/summarised) and do it by phone. Would hate to have that at home and you wrote you're fretting, so home should be a haven for you to get better in, imo.

Hope the Zings are better.

I had a lovely time today with the laminator A school without students is a glorious thing Wink My "to do" list is empty Shock

Anyone want a laminated bookmark?

Poinsettia still alive. I see FidGirl has been on GardenerGoogle re care. Gardener's gloves are off.

Somerville · 14/12/2016 19:37

So first the plumbing problems on here spread, and now it's norovirus. We have it too. Ugh.

We've renamed DP Pollyanna for saying, as DD1 and I puked into the loo in tandem: "Could be worse - at least the water got turned back on before the vomiting started up."
