Previous thread is HERE

Five years on from my first treatment, the options have pretty much run out.

Please join us for the rest of the journey. Doom and gloom is absolutely banned. There are still laughs and love to share and celebrate.

Zombie I'm aware I'm probably preaching to the choir so to speak but I remember my grandad being prescribed some high calorie energy type drinks when he started the oramorph (sp)

I've been off MN for several weeks.

Right I'll just say this bit once. Blubbed all over the place when I read Zombie's update about deciding not to take part in the trial. But also utterly understood why.

Zombie has been part of my MN life since almost the beginning. I joined in 2007 and I'm sure I first read one of Zombie's funny, clever, wise and (mostly) helpful posts not long after.

Mahoosive Flowers

And now, is that AGA working yet???

UnbornMortificado · 11/12/2016 00:24

That rings a bell Dixie it was five years back now but it really seemed to help just getting the nutrients into him, he improved a lot.

Sorry Zombie like I said your probably already aware of them so I'm not much use. I really wish I could recommend you a magic potion. Gin flavoured of course.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 11/12/2016 00:41

BBB fabulous idea, let's make a list for Zombie of all the things that she needs for Christmas Grin I'll start:

Zombie's List For An Awesome Christmas

ZombieLad
ZombieLass
Love

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 11/12/2016 00:43

I am not sure whether to admit that I have just turned into a psycho FB stalker but I saw ZombieLass's FB profile and she looks just amazing.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 11/12/2016 01:00

Good list Hearts

They might want something to eat as well!

You old romantic you ...

smoked salmon and scrambled eggs (for breakfast, just put eggs on the list, they'll have to do the scrambling)

Turkey crown (or whole goose)

whisky

carrots and something green

Champagne (that's wrong sp.) or is it?

Stuffing

Mince pies

Christmas pudding

Brandy butter

Oooh, sprouts

Would say Baileys to pour on the mince pies but don't think Z likes it?

More whisky

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 11/12/2016 01:22

Cream

Grin

abbsisspartacus · 11/12/2016 09:12

Zombie you are pure gold Flowers

Allalonenow · 11/12/2016 09:12

I'm sure Zombie loves Baileys, she's cornered the market in the chocolate luxe version IIRC! Xmas Grin

Allalonenow · 11/12/2016 09:16

I like your list B3 I might use it myself! Star

Fiderer · 11/12/2016 11:11

Am sure one of the Phalanx could do an online shop for you - apart from Hearts & me in Forrin. Tho' am a dab hand at Amazon C'mas shopping (sans edibles)

BBB seems to have a gift for The C'mas List.

Look at this article about gin in Scotland That's PD's influence.

Do you think if we applied as a Phalanx they'd give us a discount on the "12 gins of Christmas"?

PacificDogwod · 11/12/2016 12:28

Here's another tasteful and refined Christmas jumper - I am tempted to bid Grin

I am loving the very first list - Zombie, you are Christmas for ZLad. The rest is just trimmings Halo

Our (real) Christmas tree is going up today - wish me luck! DH is currently on the driveway with the tree, an axe and a power saw....

OhTheRoses · 11/12/2016 12:55

I've been fancying stickies ever since BBB's bend and slurp.

Zombie hope you had a reasonable night. Sort to be so far away. My magic wand wishes you everything sorted for Zeds and a few comfy kips with comfort inbetween x

Badders123 · 11/12/2016 13:22

Zombie...
Do a MArgot Ledbetter and get Christmas delivered 😊🌲🍸
I'm quite an experienced ahem online food shopper and I would recommend ocado (if it's your first order you will get a £20 off too)lots of lovely stuff you can just bung in the oven
Or you could have a finger buffet and no hot food?
I'm sure all ZL and ZLass will care about is seeing you.
Xxx

iklboo · 11/12/2016 15:17

Ooooh I quite fancy a few shillelaghs now (vodka & baileys). Just put up the decorations, tree & finished the advent window off. Bloody knackered now.

IamtheZombie · 11/12/2016 16:45

The good news is that I spent a very comfortable night.

The bad news is that I was awake for all of it. All of it as in until 9 or so this morning. I read an entire book. Around 6.00am I decided I was hungry so I came downstairs and had a sandwich. My tummy was on the one hand grateful for the contribution but on the other hand a bit discomforted by it. I watched a bit of telly, played some solitaire and took another dose of morphine. Back to bed and I woke about half an hour ago.

That's progress of a sort. Now I just need to move this sleep pattern around the clock by 10 - 12 hours.

Zombie I'm trying to work out if your current schedule will mesh well with the time zone Zombielad and Zombielass will be coming from. But my brain seems to rebel against the artificial construct which is time, and I've just ended up confusing myself.

Anyway, I don't think it will matter to them at what times of the day and night they spend with you, and hopefully future medical appointments will be nearby and not too onerous.

And at least, when all else fails and sleep can't be found, there is the blessing of books. Flowers
