Previous thread is HERE

Five years on from my first treatment, the options have pretty much run out.

Please join us for the rest of the journey. Doom and gloom is absolutely banned. There are still laughs and love to share and celebrate.

Ach, Zombie, please yourself.
All conventional rules out the window, sounds good to me Thanks

HerRoyalFattyness · 11/12/2016 18:45

Anyone fancy a new job? I think a few of you would be well suited to this

Susiesoap7 · 11/12/2016 19:24

Glad you had a more comfortable night zombie, think we need to tip you upside down a little. 😃

iklboo · 11/12/2016 21:15

Happy to hear you had a more comfortable night Zombie - fingers crossed you can get your sleep pattern sorted now. How many days till the ZLad & ZLass visit? Like other people have said, try not to worry about getting loads of shizzle in and done. They're coming to see you. Even if it's beans on toast in front of the AGA.

So...here's the penultimate Strictly round up of the year. Only one more to go. I don't do the Special I'm usually too drunk as it's not quite the same. And filmed in September.

Strictly Semi-Finals week - who will the last three be?

TheMagicFarawaySleeps · 11/12/2016 22:46

Hi Zombie, glad you got a decent sleep (your body is obviously an Aussie hence the Owl hours Grin).

If there's anything you need ordering etc, just shout. I'm in Yorkshire but I'm an online whizz. Cooknet.com will deliver Xmas to your door. They are fantastic. Good quality food and plenty of it. Just bung it in the Aga straight from the freezer. It's the closest thing to homemade I've ever had.

If one became a gin taster would one become immune to its charms? Or the alcohol itself? What if it was to be spat out Shock

IamtheZombie · 11/12/2016 22:59

Well, I'm still awake so hopefully will be able to sleep when I go up to bed. I've managed a yoghurt, a ham and cheese sandwich and a slice of toast with strawberry jam. Discomfort has been just that - discomfort as opposed to pain.

Hoping the discomfort becomes comfortable. Glad you've eaten. Wolfie puppy and I send sleepy wishes.

Lorelei76 · 11/12/2016 23:03

Ooh there's nothing like a ham and cheese sarnie. Was it toasted?
I'm normally an owl so would be around but trying to retrain my body, not just because it's annoying for office work but I have some time off to look after my mum and need to keep to her hours....which will be interesting!

Wolfiefan · 11/12/2016 23:09

But was it naice ham? Love ham and cheese. Especially cheese of the holey variety!

kelper · 11/12/2016 23:24

Gosh Zombie, I've just read this whole thread, I've followed your threads for a while but never felt clever/interesting enough to post anything, but I'm feeling brave to post, and say I hope you're feeling comfortable, and looking forward to your son and DIL visit.
You seem such an amazing person. Sending buckets of gin :)

UnbornMortificado · 12/12/2016 00:22

I'm so pleased to hear your more comfortable albeit with a side order of nocturnal-ness.

Mummylin · 12/12/2016 00:57

Zombie, so glad to read that pain has changed to discomfort, let's hope it's even better tomorrow ( tues, just realised the time ) great to see that you managed to eat a bit. Maybe by being up later will adjust your sleeping hours so you get back in sinc. In my thoughts.

cbigs · 12/12/2016 12:24

Afternoon zombie et al, just a random message but my son sent my dp a text message saying I love you yesterday . He's ten and my dp is a step dad. There are a lot of negative messages re step parenting sometimes so I wanted to share. Hope you slept well zombie and feel ok Xmas Smile

iklboo · 12/12/2016 13:08

Sometimes I despair of DH. I've got a docs appointment at 7:20 tonight (Monday is late surgery). I told him twice on Thursday when it was made, twice on Friday, twice on Saturday - each time the same reaction. '7:20 at night?' Each time same response - yes, late surgery (growing ever more weary).

This morning he announced he's booked a pupil in for a two hour lesson 6-8pm. He 'forgot' I had an appointment. He can't cancel now as the bloke has paid up front.

So now I'm going to have to drag DS out with me, walk down to the surgery (balance is an issue, but not far enough for a taxi) then leave DS in the waiting room for my consultation because I'll be discussing things with GP he doesn't need to know. Gahhhhhhh!!

Allalonenow · 12/12/2016 13:26

I'm glad that you were able to eat something Zombie and hope that you got some rest later as well.

It's not easy managing to eat when your sleep cycle is disrupted, why not try to keep plenty of snack type foods in the fridge, things like ready made salads, salami, kabanos, then even if you can't face the effort of preparing food, you will have something available and easy to eat. Xmas Smile

How did your advent window reveal go ikl? What a lovely fun thing to take part in. Thanks for sharing the photos.

iklboo · 12/12/2016 13:29

It went well thanks AllAlone - lots of positive comments. Our house is on a corner kind of mid school run for 2 schools and it's been lovely hearing the children comment on Santa this morning as they walk past.

OhTheRoses · 12/12/2016 13:34

Glad yr feeling better Zombie.

In my hotel room here. Just finished wrapping the Christmas presents (thought that was a good use of "empty" time). About to start on stockings then heading into the centre to get more labels, jersey for DD because she didn't pack one. She will have finished her first interview, one other confirmed for tomorrow. Shame DS already home otherwise cd hang out with him.

AcrossthePond55 · 12/12/2016 14:06

Hope you're feeling 'more better' today, Zombie.

Ham and cheese sandwich sounds so good! It's breakfast time here. Maybe I'll add a scrambled egg to mine!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 12/12/2016 15:36

Just checking in. New house is still a bomb site but we finally slept here last night, so good to be "home". We woke up to 10cm of snow.

Thinking of you Zombie, hope the discomfort continues. Seems a weird thing to be wishing for you but you know what I mean!

OhTheRoses · 12/12/2016 15:38

Oh wow, 6" of snow. The dd's must have been thrilled. They will remember that forever x

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 12/12/2016 15:47

I was not so thrilled at having to shovel it and dig out the car!!

Somerville · 12/12/2016 15:47

Hope you slept okay Zombie.

cbigs How nice to read such a heartwarming step-parenting anecdote. Those seem rare on MN. IME it's good for children to have as many people in their lives who love them as possible.

OhTheRoses it sounds from a few of your posts like you're in my neck of the woods at the moment. Good luck to your DD.

cbigs · 12/12/2016 16:03

Thanks Somerville Smileweve had a load of trouble with his ex and his own children so it really meant a lot .

HerRoyalFattyness · 12/12/2016 16:38

How are you zombie?

My DS1 is adorable. I am completely outing myself here but look what he wrote in DDs card for her birthday. (She will be 3 on the 18th)
