Previous thread is HERE

Five years on from my first treatment, the options have pretty much run out.

Please join us for the rest of the journey. Doom and gloom is absolutely banned. There are still laughs and love to share and celebrate.

Zombie, hopefully you are feeling well enough to do some Christmas shopping, and maybe some retail therapy for yourself.perhaps a ( few) new jumper or top to wear on Christmas Day ! Do you know how Zombielads wedding arrangements are coming along, will you be able to watch it on Skype or something ?

PacificDogwod · 07/12/2016 19:52

For cheapish every day gin may recommend Lidl's offerings?
Fair nice they do flavoured ones too

Good evening, phalanx!

I look at what my mother did for us (there is only 2 of us, my DB and I) when we were kids and I have No Clue how she did it - she was a SAHM, but we had so many activities and every meal was home cooked from scratch and she had friends and interests and, you know, did stuff. No idea how she fitted it all in.
She's not dead btw, she is 75 and doing really well, but does not have to drive us to swimming lessons any more Grin

PacificDogwod · 07/12/2016 19:53

magi, you got there first - 'Hortus', that's the one Grin

Hope you are having a more fair than middling day, Zombie Brew

OhTheRoses · 07/12/2016 20:34

Yes, I too have been wondering how Z is.

Am almost at bottom of a large pinot which so far is not taking the edge off dd's whingeing about a hurty hip and sore knee. have persuaded her to take two ibuprofen but she's working herself up about not having time for a dr's apt. I think she's just overdone rehearsals, etc. But sometimes she does get a sore hip.

StealthPolarBear · 07/12/2016 20:36

Hugs to the zombie. I hope there is someone you can cry with (or on here) if you need to.

MrsMozart · 07/12/2016 20:40

Oh sweet Zombie. Just read your update. Completely understand lass.

I know you don't know me from Adam or Eve, but know a stranger on the net is thinking of you.

StealthPolarBear · 07/12/2016 20:42

Just FYI I'm crap with criers. Absolutely awful. But there wpuld be loads of people on here doing a good job and I'd make the tea and replenish the tissues x

Badders123 · 07/12/2016 20:43

Hello hello
Hoping Z is relaxing
It's mad weather isn't it? 10 degrees warmer here than it was yesterday!
And rain tomorrow Confused
Ds1(13) had food tech today - pretzels. Lovely I thought - I will have one with a cup of tea at 4...except he SOLD them to his friends for £1 each!!!
I am an odd mix of horrified and proud - a metaphor for parenting there if ever there was one!
Ds1 and I have had a very deep discussion this evening about world politics and the lessons we could learn from history - I feel quote wrung out now! Confused
Ds2 is 8 so most convos are either about minecraft or animals and who could kill what
Grin
I am now watching a documentary on Greek art
rock and roll
I can't join in on the gin love I'm afraid - very bad experience drinking gin and bitter Lemon when I was about 22 Envy - but I do love me a Bellini Blush lightweight
Have a good night all x esp you Z X

PacificDogwod · 07/12/2016 20:58

I am very good with criers - whether they need a shoulder to cry on or be told to pull themselves together or somebody to cry with them

Badders, Suralan would be proud! Grin

Somerville · 07/12/2016 21:03

Hope you're doing okay today, Zombie.

The number of posters on your thread who refer to gin as an every day drink is shocking, BTW. Grin Your phalanx won't manage a nice neat formation for much longer with that level of imbibing. They might accidentally start stabbing each other with their sarissas.

Hope your AGA is back on and behaving itself better than my underfloor heating. I've got over a thousand of my books in my living room - well did have, until I packed them up earlier. DP's got some friends over to help him move boxes and bookcases as the flooding keeps getting worse. A house full of young-ish, cute men who are rescuing books has quite made my evening.

Badders123 · 07/12/2016 21:07

He is bent on world domination Pacific, I'm sure Smile
Bit worrying, really Confused
And dh always says it's my influence when the DC do anything...er...morally dodgy Blush
Should have paid more attention in Sunday school I guess and not spent it snogging Richard gaffney round the back of the hall
Grin

Badders123 · 07/12/2016 21:07

Ha! Yes
I laughed at the "everyday gin" comment
Grin

OhTheRoses · 07/12/2016 21:15

An every day pinot has a heart on it sometimes Smile. I fully get the concept of everyday gin. It's like me wearing an M&S dress to work but not to a lovely party.

OhTheRoses · 07/12/2016 21:19

Reflecting further, you know like Zombie isn't an every day human if that isn't a sine qua non for a Zombie.

PurpleDaisies · 07/12/2016 21:25

For me an everyday gin is a nice drink for an ordinary evening rather than literally everyday. I like to save the more expensive ones for special occasions. Grin

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 07/12/2016 21:30

Grin purple

IamtheZombie · 07/12/2016 21:34

Evening.

I've had to spend the best part of every day in bed since Saturday. Today, I have finally managed to spend almost the entire day out of bed (a 2 hour nap being the only exception). I really hope this means I've turned the corner. This certainly confirms for me that I could never, ever have coped with the travel required for the trial.

Maybe by the weekend I'll feel up to exploring Amazon for some Christmas gifts.

It's good to read that you are all entertaining yourselves so well.

OP posts:
PacificDogwod · 07/12/2016 21:48

Well. Amazon. Hmm

Santa here shops almost exclusively with Amazon.
Two (two!!) deliveries have now gone to 'door Nr 7 Joe Bloggs'/door Nr 7 Jane Bloogs' in the last 48 hours.

There. Is. No. Nr7. In. Our. Street.
It does not exist.
And I have no idea who Joe or Jane might be - I'm sure they are nice but they, apparently, have my kids' Lego!!

Contacting Amazon Logistics was an Interesting Experience

So, good luck, Zombie.
Glad today was a Better Day

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 07/12/2016 22:10

Well Somer, we've managed to stay upright and tight for more than three years with quite a high level of imbibing.

I think we'll be able to sustain that for as long as is necessary.

And we've always favoured the longer sarissa spears, they make the flags flutter so prettily Grin

Wine

Thing is Roses, Zombie is an everyday human.

That's what makes her amazing.

magimedi · 07/12/2016 22:20

We is all tuff.

We drink gin as others drink water.

Phalanx!

Stand to attention!

Triple gin ration now being poured!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 07/12/2016 22:55

That does sound like a corner turned Zomb, I can see you actually gaining strength over the coming months without having to endure any toxic, debilitating treatments.

Online shopping is fab, lovely surprises every day (because I've forgotten what I ordered) Wink

Lovely that you can now just concentrate on what you want and how you want it for Christmas with your new ZFamily.

Wolfiefan · 07/12/2016 23:00

I'm off the gin
I have a new baby puppy and we are co sleeping and I am mostly standing in the garden at ungodly hours suggesting she goes wee wee!
But I love puppy cuddles!
Still miss gin though. Sink one for me phalanx!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 07/12/2016 23:02

Oh, and thanks Keeper of the Gin.

Triple rations

You can have mine.

xxx Shock

Allalonenow · 07/12/2016 23:26

Triple gin ration eh? What have we done to deserve that? Xmas Grin

B3 is, as always totally correct, we are all dab hands with the sarissa, and look great in our panoply. I favour the dory myself as you use it one handed, so you have the other hand free for your glass of gin.
Clincalissimo Phalanx! Wine Wine Wine

HerRoyalFattyness · 07/12/2016 23:31

Flowers for zombie I'm glad you felt well enough to spend most of today out of bed.
DS2 has spent most of the evening out of the bed, although still asleep. Grin
