Previous thread is HERE

Five years on from my first treatment, the options have pretty much run out.

Please join us for the rest of the journey. Doom and gloom is absolutely banned. There are still laughs and love to share and celebrate.

Oh Zombie, I can totally understand why you've made that decision. Sounds a very sensible choice. Flowers

Goingtobeawesome · 06/12/2016 19:16

Iklboo Grin

Lorelei76 · 06/12/2016 19:22

Zombie Ive been a lurker

I think you've made the right choice. Quality time matters!

Hope you're having a good day.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 06/12/2016 19:24

Dear Zombie, I've just seen your post about declining to take part in the trial - and I think I'd do the same. I don't think that your choice about your life is for anyone to be upset about. If anything it's very brave of you to have made this decision, I'm sure it wasn't easy. Lots of love & hugs Flowers

Fiderer · 06/12/2016 19:25

I just looked up the Elixir, it sounds so wonderfully Harry Potter.

"remarkable digestive and wholesome characteristics" - Allalone Sounds just the ticket

Am so happy we're out of the St Nick years. Also, I forgot. No one noticed. At home anyway. At school the girls were showing off lip gloss (heh?) they got from fellow students.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 06/12/2016 19:28

ikl 😂
Last year this time DS5 (was 5.5 y old) was singing "hurry bring the frakin-sex' all the way home after school.
Thankfully i had time to teach him it's not frankisex baby Jesus was given!

iklboo · 06/12/2016 19:40

Zing - that's so cute! Grin

Lorelei76 · 06/12/2016 20:25

Zing "Thankfully i had time to teach him it's not frankisex baby Jesus was given!"

Ah, but it might explain a virgin getting pregnant in those days...

PacificDogwod · 06/12/2016 20:51

"Shittin' frankinsex" - what on early?!
Every day's an education on MN Grin

DS4 is now 6 and does not say 'mismas' for Christmas anymore - we all miss it HmmGrin

Disclaimer: I am not Catholic, but that aside, I cannot get my head around the Virign Mary still being a virgin after she had given birth. In a stable. Without a MW. And the hygiene must have been appalling - she was lucky not to have succumbed to puerperal fever. Just sayin'.

Fids, I forgot that today is Nikolaus Day... ShockBlush

snowgeese · 06/12/2016 20:55

Another long time lurker dearZombie . A wise and brave decision lovely lady.
Been pondering . Anyone remember poster Scottishmummy ? She was scathing and funny . "Trust nae fucker" . "Just words on a screen "
Yes true in lots of ways re forum use but not totally .
Your phalanx are proof that is so not the case here . Funny wise loving people who care very much . As we lurkers do too.
Hope you feel the warmth and care like a big snuggly blanket .

Also want to say that reading your posts and journey ,the feelings you expressed have probably helped more people than you ever thought of.
It has for me . Gives me courage when I have none left . What a gift you have given to so many Flowers .

Take care now bonny lass and the wedding sounds fab . Christmas with Zombielad and his love visiting excellent .
Hope the aga is sorted . The only thing worse than no aga is a cold broken one ! X

Badders123 · 06/12/2016 21:00

I caused a MASSIVE to do at my catholic primary when I pointed out to the nuns God wasnt my father
"My dad's called Brian!!"
BlushGrin
Looking back I now realise that religion and I are not a good fit Wink

PacificDogwod · 06/12/2016 21:25

Badders, you were an independent thinker from a young age - I like it! Grin

I liked scottishmummy - called a spade a bloody shovel and I think MN is poorer without her tbh although I can see how she was not everybody's cup of tea.

MN is far more than 'words on a screen', at the same time I do think the who shtick about 'not giving more than you can afford to loose' is not a bad on either. And some of us will be more vulnerable than others.

I love MN (in case that was not obvious by how much I hang out here Blush), vipers and Phalanx and all

Badders123 · 06/12/2016 21:27

Yeah
Perhaps unsurprisingly I didn't last long, heathen that I am 😊

OhTheRoses · 06/12/2016 21:33

And Fabbychic.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/12/2016 22:29

Oh I loved Fabbychic, she really caught me when I first found MN, very astute and straight talking.

I liked scottishmummy too, with her Grin

Phalanx is cool with hugs PD and even sometimes xxx Shock
but never hun and rarely lol!

HerRoyalFattyness · 06/12/2016 22:54

This place is amazing pacific I hit a rough spit a few weeks ago and I had shopping delivered to my door thanks to a lovely bunch of MNers who clubbed together to buy it for me. I had other offers too . It may have brought a tear to my eye.

There's a couple of people on here that deserve a big snog for it Wink they know who they are.

I crapped myself tonight. Was at college when I received a text from DP. "Phone me now! It's important"

Bloody idiot just wanted help with DS1s homework Hmm apparently it's too much like hard work to find and stick an advertisement in his book and get him to wrote on it about the language used and who it's aimed at.
This is due in tomorrow, so the kid now has to rush around sorting it first thing in the morning because his dad is an incompetent fuckwit. I have been nice and glued the advert into his book for him.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 06/12/2016 22:59

I miss GetOrf!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 06/12/2016 23:00

I LOL'd on FB today. Oh the shame.

OhTheRoses · 06/12/2016 23:09

Getorf was the first poster I ever met on a thread and was awesome in rl. She may still be here.

PacificDogwod · 06/12/2016 23:13

Oh, I think there are a number of posters lurking still - I remember GetOrf and Gentleotter (still read her blog from time to time) and Aitch and Cod (natch!) and many others.

Actually MN has made me feel less 'other' from many women I meet in RL - not sure what that says about me or my life or who I have dealings with Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/12/2016 23:21

Hearts consider yourself properly castigated, I miss Getorf too, and her legs! My god they were fab Grin

There was a strong movement to tempt her back on an old timers thread but even someone who knew her well in RL failed while the thread was live Sad

Tilly something, not the mint one.

OhTheRoses · 06/12/2016 23:21

I'd agree with that. There are some odd folk in rl Wink. My grandma used to say "all the world but thee and me is queer (as in odd), and even thee's a little queer".

V normal folk on MN generally, except for the trolls and they aren't folk.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 06/12/2016 23:22

Ah Zombie I can entirely see that spending most of whatever time you have left schlepping up and down to town, recovering from or preparing for those trips and being away from your own surroundings for possibly no return, has no appeal.

OhTheRoses · 06/12/2016 23:24

I feel this thread needs to meet. But for now I must go up; DH has gone up already, I've an early start and another long day tomorrow - Bah!!
