Previous thread is HERE

Five years on from my first treatment, the options have pretty much run out.

Please join us for the rest of the journey. Doom and gloom is absolutely banned. There are still laughs and love to share and celebrate.

Send him round here HRF, sure there's a turkey tin big enough Wink. You wait until he's 16/17, out at 1am and you wish he was screaming from behind those cot bars. Oh, yes you will Smile

HerRoyalFattyness · 05/12/2016 21:57

Roses he broke his cot (2 of them actually) he's now in a trundle bed (so basically a mattress in the floor) because I can't afford a new cot. He's up there playing with his toys while his 8 year old brother snores away, oblivious. Grin

AnnieAnoniMouse · 05/12/2016 22:08

Zombie (an old friend in a new name here xx)

That regime for the Trial sounds utterly exhausting. I'm not at all surprised you have made the decision not to go ahead with it, and for what little it's worth, I think you've made the right choice.

I hope the AGA is now behaving itself!

AWaspOnAWindowInAHeatwave · 05/12/2016 22:13

Delurking to offer my love and to express my sheer admiration for you Zombie - I've been following your threads for three years - you're simply amazing Smile

magimedi · 05/12/2016 22:24

Totally understand & agree with your decision.

You are a wise women, Zombie.

Mummylin · 05/12/2016 22:27

Ikl, what a great roundup this week. I don't know how you do it !
Hope your plans for the 11th are all worked out. Is there a prize ?
Tele tubbies made me chuckle !

ssd · 05/12/2016 23:45

Hi Zombie, I've lurked on your threads for years and just want to say, I agree totally with your decision and admire you immensely x

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 05/12/2016 23:46

Zombie my dear sometimes the time difference works against me and I have only just seen your update. You are a very strong and smart woman and your strength constantly has me in awe of you. Sounds like the right decision for all the right reasons to me. Flowers and Wine and lots of hugs.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/12/2016 00:31

Bless you Zombie. I realize my opinion matters zilch in the scheme of things but I want to say that I support your decision. Life is indeed to live and to love, and the time in which to do that is precious to all of us, be it long or short. Enjoy the time remaining to you, love and cherish every member of the ZombieFamily, spend the time making beautiful memories for you all.

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 06/12/2016 00:52

Hi Zombie, for what it's worth (which is probably fuck all), being partway into a trial myself, I would probably actually advise people to think very carefully before entering into one. It's bloody gruelling, and tbh, sometimes it feels like the hcps are more interested in the protocol and results of their trial than in the patients themselves. It felt very impersonal at times.

I think you've made the right decision, in my opinion, but even if any of us didn't, as someone upthread said, if it's the right decision for you, then it's the right decision. I'm so glad ZombieLad is onboard with your choice (although I wouldn't think for a moment that he wouldn't be).

Sorry for the ramble, I hope the phalanx can continue to be a source of laughter and comfort for you Flowers

iklboo · 06/12/2016 07:17

Thank you Lin - very much appreciated.

There's no prize for the advent window, just the taking part.

Fiderer · 06/12/2016 07:21

I think Stumpy the Tree is cursed Shock All the lights we've put on him have gone pfft and then out. 6 (six!) strands so far.

Maybe I should stop referring to him as Stumpy as he's really quite tall and handsome. Yes that's loopy but I plead tiredness as FidBoy1 arrived back from Berlin in the middle of the night and announced his return by sending me multiple texts and then calling me to ask for taxi money from the station in the next town.

Have a bleary memory of me wrapped in a blanket handing him my wallet at some ungodly hour. He was all effusive gratitude and kisses but frankly I'd rather have had the sleep.

Lightless tree is a sorry sight at this or at any hour.

Much love as always Z

PacificDogwod · 06/12/2016 07:44

Hope you had a restful night, Zombie Brew

Susiesoap7 · 06/12/2016 09:47

Very wise decision zombie, only superman could tackle that! How gruelling that would be on top of feeling ill. 🌺🌺

Mummylin · 06/12/2016 12:29

My tree is up ! Now all I have to do is loads of shopping, then in a couple of weeks I have to make mince pies for 7 different branches of the family !
All my lights worked but there are a couple of things that need new batteries. I have a Thomas Kincaid tapestry , a lovely old fashioned snow scene, which has little lights but batteries have gone ! Very dull day here today, damp and quite musty, but I am going to go out this afternoon anyway.

Susiesoap7 · 06/12/2016 13:26

Don't forget mincepies for wedding buffet mummy! I'm starting to make lots of loaves of bread for the sandwiches, all food can be stored in my garage (haven't a car, don't drive) so lots of room there. Forget keep dancing it's keep baking!!! Only 10 days left! 🍞🍞🧀🧀🌭🌭🎂🎂🎂

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 06/12/2016 13:38

Ah Zombie. What a difficult decision to make, but you've made the right one for you and that's all that matters. Flowers

acatcalledjohn · 06/12/2016 14:06

Bless you Zombie. I only fleetingly check/lurk on your threads but am very sorry to read your latest update. It does sound like you have really thought this through, and would agree that quality of life trumps quantity of life; especially if the trial doesn't guarantee the latter.

But onwards you go, and a fabulous Christmas to look forward to with ZombieLad and his ZombieLady!

NoSquirrels · 06/12/2016 14:23

Lurker quickly

Good decision, Zombie. FIL has been on trial/s needing the same travel up & down to London and with no useful outcomes except keeping him from family and making him unwell enough that it's all treatment, recovery time and no fun. Feel rather blue about it (he's too unwell today for a cuppa & to cut his birthday cake with his grandkids) so from the perspective of just another random on the internet, I say very wise and long may you have the quality of life to enjoy all the finest things in it. Flowers

Lovelybangers · 06/12/2016 14:32

I am glad you have made your decision Zombie. It did sound a bit full-on - and you should enjoy your time - not spend them all being poked and prodded.

Here's a drink Wine (no gin emoticon)

Mummylin · 06/12/2016 16:21

Oh yes of course I will make mince pies for our wedding party Susie ! And I love homemade bread !

LineyReborn · 06/12/2016 17:42

I am pleased for you Zombie that you have been able to make a clear decision. I'm not so pleased that you've had to make it ... you know what I mean, hopefully.

Bless you, Flowers

iklboo · 06/12/2016 18:21

Just something to (maybe) make us smile.

DS was reading out of his bug magazine, practising for his show & tell type thing on Friday: 'beetles have shittin' armour'.

Me (half listening) They have what?

DS: Shittin' armour.

Me: let me have a look (peers at magazine). That's chitin, mate (kie-tin).

Thank goodness he practised on me first! Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/12/2016 18:25

How have you been today Zomb?

It must feel quite surreal getting used to your decision.

Have been thinking of you a lot (((([bear))))

Here's to treatment-free life, doing what you like, when you like.

Not exactly, but I hope you know what I mean; not having to steel yourself for journeys and appointments and hideous procedures.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/12/2016 18:26

Meant to add WineSmile
