I hope your travels go well tomorrow, Zombie.

And that you don't miss your warm Aga too much. Envy

Somerville · 01/12/2016 20:20

God, sorry, that was a bit of a downer.

I'm going to go browse Aga's website. There's a new type that can be turned down overnight and is much cheaper to run, a friend told me.

Ohb0llocks · 01/12/2016 20:28

Evening Zombie.

Good news about the lack of discomfort. Hope that continues for you. And the Aga. I've never even seen one in real life. DP says that when he's finished his surveying quals and I have finished my hair quals and teaching quals he wants to build us a family home, and that he will build me a fancy kitchen with an Aga. We can all dream hey. Shame he can't buy me any cooking skills though Grin

IamtheZombie · 01/12/2016 21:51

Pacific, I have replied.

The AGA is back on and slowly coming up in temperature. I'm not entirely sure I like all the gurgling noises it is making. I'll leave it until I'm back on Saturday but may switch it off and then back on again on Sunday. (Not certain the engineer left it long enough after turning the oil back on before lighting it.)

Only other news is that I'm off to bed to get a good night's sleep before tomorrow.

Goodnight god bless sleep tight zombie 🌸🌺🌸🌺

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 01/12/2016 22:39

Lots of luck for tomorrow Z, hope you enjoy your evening in London too.

Very frustrating time here, don't want to bore you all, but between electricity supplier and kitchen supplier being unreliable fuckwits we are still in the caravan aaaaarrrggghhhh!

Maybe in tomorrow night.
Have to be in Saturday night.

I've always been impressed with the team of people treating you Zombie.

I wish the same level of care was maintained for mental health problems.
I couldn't be more different.

Thinking of you tomorrow Flowers

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/12/2016 23:04

Good luck for tomorrow Zombie, I'll be thinking of you.

BBB it's so frustrating isn't it when things don't go according to plan, especially due to other people's fuckwittery.

My own frustration here is that the furnace guys are refusing to install the new combi boiler because of the asbestos, but the asbestos guys are saying they can't remove the asbestos until the old copper pipes are removed by the furnace guys. Such fun. This is in spite of hours of conversations beforehand with both of them about the best order to do things in. Basically both of them want the other one to go first and are throwing their toys out of the pram about it, with me caught in the middle and just wanting the fucking work done.

At least it's unofficially the start of the weekend! The DD's have an INSET day tomorrow so we can have a slightly later start and get some stuff done.

Mummylin · 01/12/2016 23:42

Wishing you safe travel and hope everything else goes well.
Oh No BBB what has made the delay ?
Only just came home from having a meal at my ds,s . That's why I have only just seen your news

PacificDogwod · 01/12/2016 23:57

Good night, Zombie - wishing you restful sleep.

V best of luck tomorrow Thanks

Sorry I was not v quick in replying - kids, dog, life: all major distractions from reliable MNing...

PacificDogwod · 02/12/2016 00:00

BBB, you must be beyond frustrated!
It'll all be worth it in the end

HTD, have you read Catch-22 recently? Grin
Seems perfect for your conundrum...

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 02/12/2016 00:42

Sleep well Zombie.

My DM bought herself an absolutely giant 'family planner across two pages' calendar to help keep up with her appointments. She swears by it now.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 02/12/2016 00:45

I should get one of those calendars, I think it would help.

IamtheZombie · 02/12/2016 07:23

Morning!

I'm up on time. (Miracle one for today.)

It's not quite as witch's tit cold here this morning. (Not a miracle but nice.)

AGA is not behaving properly so I've turned it back off and will deal with it over the weekend. (Frustration one for today.)

Time to take all my meds, eat a slice of toast, get washed and dressed and finish packing. I want to leave here at 09.00 to allow for nasty roads on the way to Telford. Should be doable.

I'm not taking laptop or tablet so won't be able to update until I'm home sometime Saturday afternoon.

Have a gin and think of me!

Somerville · 02/12/2016 07:28

Another one who better not have gin (just in case this TTC lark pays off and all) but I will have my fingers crossed that all your travels and appointment go well, Zombie.

Lovelybangers · 02/12/2016 07:30

I'll have a gin later if that's okay :) It's a bit early for me...

Hope all goes well this weekend.

HerRoyalFattyness · 02/12/2016 07:30

PacificDogwod · 02/12/2016 07:40

No gin for breakfast but thinking of you Brew

Fiderer · 02/12/2016 07:44

Just posted this on the other thread

Hope all goes well Zombie

I could do with a breakfast gin. Cycled down to school for a (mercifully short) meeting just now and nearly got knocked off my bike again.

Road still not finished (myth of German efficiency being just that - a myth) and we still have those temporary traffic lights. My house is between them and I can only see one from the wrong side iyswim. Unless a car is waiting I can't always tell which way is green.

There is plenty of room for an oncoming car and a bike whatever side is green but the drivers are often so impatient they swerve out onto the road away from the lights and accelerate and drive unnecessarily close to me.

Might have a Glühwein to warm up and calm down.

PacificDogwod · 02/12/2016 07:48

Oh dear, Fiderer, sounds like a lucky escape!
Hope your day improves and the road works finish eventually....

Fiderer · 02/12/2016 08:23

Actually PD am off now to the ENT doc with FidGirl who's had terrible nosebleeds lately. Up half the night, missing school. She had an enlarged blood vessel in one nostril when she was little which resulted in a midnight dash to hospital when the heavy bleeding didn't stop for 2 hrs.

Hoping they cauterize it now. FidBoy casually announced he'd had it done last year and it only "tingled". FidGirl is more dramatic - in fact has gone into school before the appt (expected her to plead for the whole morning off) so she can do her practical Drama exam. Pondering whether to warn her.

Told FidBoy1 not to mention "Shoved a hot wire up my nose" and stay with "It only tingled."

PacificDogwod · 02/12/2016 08:34
Grin

They may not use 'hot wire' at all, but something that looks a bit like a long matchstick (silver nitrate).
It DOES only tingle, may make her sneeze in salvos though

V best of luck Thanks

Fiderer · 02/12/2016 08:41

I though long matchstick too. Maybe the dramatic streak runs in the family Grin
