Just checking in for the journey - habitual lurker here so please feel free to ignore me!

DoctorTwo · 30/11/2016 07:13

Good news about the trial Zombie! I have my wedding outfit sorted. Skintight Shropshire tartan pleather shorts, a billowing white shirt and hobnail boots. Topped off with a jaunty tricorn hat. I'm gonna look lush.

Is Tactical Nuclear Penguin on the drinks list? I hope so as I'd love to try it! :o

iklboo · 30/11/2016 07:18

Doh, sorry Lin - its 11th Dec. Thankfully a Sunday so we've got more time!

Mummylin · 30/11/2016 08:36

Good morning all doctor where are the pictures of what sounds a stunning outfit for the wedding ?
piglet and liney I am glad you like my dress, that BBB has no taste at all Grin

Mouseinahole · 30/11/2016 08:51

Good news about the trial Zombie. I hope it gives you some relief and an improved quality of life so you can enjoy the wedding.

Fiderer · 30/11/2016 09:15

Oh Z that is good news about the trial. FidGirl asks after you often, "Should I dye my hair purple again?" Can tell her to hold off for now Grin

Hear on the news it's cold o'er there. Here too for a while now. I have been selflessly testing the best beverages to warm the bod and soul right through to achieve that lasting glow.

Tea, hot chocolate, soup, all do all right. A clear winner has emerged. Here are the votes from the Forrin jury ... Glühwein. There are several decent brands here but our local wine cooperative have brought out their own and it is most delicious. Not at all sickly sweet or too cinnamony. Plus it smells heavenly.

Allalonenow · 30/11/2016 10:11

Zombie So pleased that you have got on a trial, and that the appointment is doable, you are one brave cookie.

lin Love that hat!! I'll be in black and pink so you won't clash with me. Grin

Chewing Hope you get some positive news about your referral.

Fid I think that's the first time you've said anything positive about Forrin Land. Smile

LlamaDrama Forget ignoring you, grab your spear and get in line pronto. Grin

I've not started on Ch***as yet, lashings of time.
Hendricks at almost sixty quid a bottle? Shock

Susiesoap7 · 30/11/2016 10:38

Great news zombie, hope the journey goes well and not too difficult for you.having trouble deciding on the outfit, thinking scarlet tutu at the mo!! Or maybe something a little more classy 👗👗👗 👒👒👒

Goingtobeawesome · 30/11/2016 12:19

I hope the trial is successful, Zombie.

Lovelybangers · 30/11/2016 12:47

That's good news about the trial.

Mummylin · 30/11/2016 13:38

allalone your outfit sounds delightful and I'm sure will compliment my colours perfectly !!
susie the tutu also sounds quite exciting and would also blend in well. I think we will all look quite stunning for the occasion, I hope The new Mr and Mrs Zombie will appreciate all our efforts !

LlamaDrama · 30/11/2016 17:25

allalonenow ok - spear at the ready!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 30/11/2016 18:10

lin I missed the bit about giving up smoking - bloody well done you - 7 weeks is a fantastic achievement.
I can't even contemplate doing it Blush[pathetic]

Have you used patches or vape or anything?

Mummylin · 30/11/2016 18:16

No nothing BBB apart from a really bad chest infection which took two courses of anti b,s and a course of steroids. My breathing was really bad , so bad I was struggling to get upstairs. The difference now is amazing. I haven't even had to use my inhaler very much and can walk around all over the place and be absolutely fine. My dd is also giving up but is vaping.

Mummylin · 30/11/2016 18:17

Going to meet my siblings now for pub meal !

Susiesoap7 · 30/11/2016 21:18

Glad you like my tutu Lin! Think I will have a large tiara to top it off! Very exciting this wedding, I'm starting on the buffet now it will be lush!!!!🎂🎂🍧🍨🍧🍨🍾🍾🍷🍸🍷🍸🍷🍸

PacificDogwod · 30/11/2016 21:23

Hello, all!

Zombie, I hope today has been a good day Brew

Chez PD today we have had the heating fixed (fused had gone, easy fix), and the the engineer's van rolled off our premises when.... yes, you've guessed it, the fuse went again - I could still see his taillights!

FFS.

The DSs think it's great because I don't have the heart to make them have a cold shower so we did a bit of top and tailing with the help of a kettle of hot water. Mingers!

PacificDogwod · 30/11/2016 21:26

In other news and in no particular order:

  • no Christmas shopping here yet either; loads of time
  • wedding outfit, hmm - this will require some thought... has anybody called dibs on leather leggings yet?
  • Drug trials. Such a brave undertaking for whoever is prepared to put themselves forward. Wishing you all the best response humanely possibly.
  • I now want a pub. In my house
iklboo · 30/11/2016 21:47

Well, didn't win any award. As expected they all went to people who visibly assisted management (eg did something directly affecting managers) or were involved in some sort of project. I couldn't even win an iklboo lookalike contest at the minute.

Work queue was 102 cases last Tuesday. Only I had been off in preceding few weeks. I go back to work 'properly' last Tuesday. Today work queue is 38. Go figure.

Harrumph. I am only appreciated by the phalanx. And possibly at home

TheMagicFarawaySleep · 30/11/2016 22:17

Aw Iklboo - for what it's worth, the winners sound like brown noses! Far better to have integrity than cosy up to management. I bet you are appreciated by your closest colleagues. If not, they are clearly jealous of your abilities.

So glad you got on the trial Zombie. I hope it isn't too gruelling, and that it has only positive benefits.

Fiderer where you live sounds fab! A wine tap? Really? How do they charge you for what you have? Is it like a wine council tax? Sounds great anyway.

Susie - I'll keep you company and also wear a tutu. Though I must warn you that I look like the plump fairy from Will O'The Wisp.

TheMagicFarawaySleep · 30/11/2016 22:18

Minus the wings, obvs!

iklboo · 30/11/2016 22:24

Thank you Magic - my team mates do appreciate me (I think - they're all nice to me anyway). Who wants a £50 Love To Shop voucher and a stertifticate anyroads.

And I bet you do NOT look like Mavis Cruet!!

Mummylin · 30/11/2016 22:30

Ikl, you are the best in my book !! I read your story remember. 💐
magic what colour tutu are you planning to wear ? We can't have you clashing with susie
BBB hope you have had a good day
Zombie, hope you have had no further trouble with your innards ! Have you looked into getting any help yet or are you leaving it for a while ?

IamtheZombie · 01/12/2016 06:45

Good morning!

Something in my tummy seems to have taken a turn for the better. Last night, for the first time in weeks, I was able to lie not only on my back but also on both my left and right sides with absolutely no discomfort. I'm not sure what's happened but long may it continue.

The really exciting news ChezZombie is that my AGA is being serviced this afternoon. It's been off for about 3 months and as it's the only source of heating in the kitchen I will be very glad to have it back up and running.

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 01/12/2016 06:52

Yay to the tummy, and yay to the aga!!! Smile
