SIOB

IamtheZombie · 16/08/2016 23:30

See? See that? That's the fucking problem with MN these days. When's the last time you saw someone respond to a post with a SIOB?

Sigh.

GEOB

Exit sorry to hear your news Flowers

I don't think I know what SIOB or GEOB mean!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 17/08/2016 00:23

Ahem.
We usually avoid political discussion here don't we?
Especially if it's going to be contentious.

I've always felt that it was assumed that we're all doing our best, we're all concientious (sp. fuck it) citizens, which mainly means we all use our vote.

ExitBear I'm really pleased to welcome you to the Phalanx (once you've posted here, you're snared) but I'm very sorry for the reason.
Vent here and keep us updated with what's happening.
Big hugs to you.

SIOB is Sharp Intake Of Breath

Um... GobbleEachOldBollock

???

Fiderer · 17/08/2016 05:28

If SIOB is Sharp Intake of Breath then GEOB may be Great Exhalation of Breath?

Lawyer went well, am v glad I changed. Brusque, sardonic, not v client friendly but I don't care about gush, I wanted someone who knows what to do and does it in my favour. Even told me that because I earn so little I may get legal aid-ey thing for the court costs. Didn't know that.

Which is good cos FidGirl came with me (nose in a book in the courtyard during my appt) and we spent vast amounts on make-up and DVDs afterwards. The guy on the DVD/CD floor was playing The Doors and said I was the first person to recognise them, also that it was keeping him sane as his boss wanted modern shite and he kept refusing Grin

Getting Emotional On Baileys

Susiesoap7 · 17/08/2016 10:04

Glad all went well fiderer, I qualified for legal aid when I got my divorce many years ago it was a big help, my friend didn't , she had to put divorce cost on to her house mortgage and she doesn't think it will ever be paid off, that was over 10 years ago !!

Fiderer · 17/08/2016 21:25

Thanks susie Am drowning in forms I don't understand and spent the day phoning about other official stuff I don't really get either. Anyway, mostly helpful bods and I figure as I'm paying the lawyer I'll do what he said, pencil in what I don't know and they'll sort it Grin

You all right Zombie? Hands better?

Susiesoap7 · 18/08/2016 10:00

I had a wonderful lawyer, she was only young but I didn't feel intimidated by her, I just swallowed my pride, acted dumb and just kept asking questions about anything I didn't understand.my husband always thought he was so very clever but we nailed him in the end! Hang on in there fiderer 😐🌸🌸

iklboo · 18/08/2016 16:16

I need gin!!!

Doing a 500 piece jigsaw with DS. HE DOESN'T DO THE EDGES FIRST!!

We can't have random piece placing. That way madness & chaos lies (swigs gin from bottle & eats entire lemon drizzle cake).

IamtheZombie · 18/08/2016 16:45

Fecking platelets. Chemo postponed again. They didn't cancel me this morning as they wanted to do more bloods just in case there had been a platelet miracle in 24 hours. Perhaps I shouldn't bitch too much as I'm only just feeling semi human after the last cycle. But it's a royal pain in the arse when one would like a modicum of control over one's own life.

OP posts:
iklboo · 18/08/2016 16:52

Oh bloody hell Zombie, what a pain in the arse for you.

Fiderer · 18/08/2016 17:08

Arsing hell Zombie. Would suggest getting FidGirl to do something shocking and send your levels back up but she's off at a friend's. Prob doing shocking things Grin

I couldn't fill out the legal aid form cos ArseheadExH won't give me the info I need. So 2 days of calls and form filling and my head exploding cos legal German is so so tortuous and I'm back where I was.

Hey ho.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 18/08/2016 17:33

Oh no, what a blow Zombie.

Can you do anything to get the levels back up?

When do they want you back?

HerRoyalFattyness · 18/08/2016 17:43

Oh zombie Sad That's crap. When are you next there?

chewingawasp · 18/08/2016 17:49

What a pain Zombie. I had that last week so have had my chemo today, a week late. It is so annoying having to plan your life around all the appointments Sad, Is there anything that would help to get the levels up?

IamtheZombie · 18/08/2016 18:01

Fid, sounds like you need FidGirl being shocking more than I do!

We will try again next Thursday. There's nothing that can be done except to give my bone marrow more time to recover. It gets complicated. For normal people, the bottom of the normal range is 150 whatever they are. For chemo purposes, they will give the treatment as long as the count is 100+. You don't get into the realms of a platelet transfusion until the count really bottoms out at around 10. The platelet count is the main reason my oncologist is reducing the dose. Even after I'm able to start on the reduced dose it will take a few cycles before we know if it's stabilised.

What crappy news zombie, let's pray for a miracle for next week 🌸🌸🌸

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 18/08/2016 19:05

(((Bear)))

Hope you have something nice to slurp [single malt] and scoff Smile

Allalonenow · 18/08/2016 22:59

What rubbish news Zombie, sounds as though all you can do is rest as much as possible, time to make a start on your stockpile of chocolate Baileys maybe?
Do different foods build up your blood, spinach and liver for iron?

Mummylin · 18/08/2016 23:45

This is a damnbuggerfuck day then Zombie. Sorry that you haven't had your treatment , let's hope your platelets recover so you get your chemo next week, the last session seems to of taken a lot out of you.

Fiderer · 19/08/2016 11:55

You don't get into the realms of a platelet transfusion until the count really bottoms out at around 10.

Ah, was wondering if they couldn't give you a boost. I had a platelet problem as a child and had a transfusion. Years back, the doc may have even been called Van Helsing Wink

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 21/08/2016 02:59

Oh Zombie what rotten luck. My mum has a chronic condition that causes platelet deficiency and she has had transfusions over the years too.

Flowers to you and Exit and chewingwasp and everyone else dealing with bastard cancer and the bastard treatments.

iklboo · 21/08/2016 11:50

I've been called for a mammogram tomorrow. Sad

I mentioned to my GP before we went away about my mum's recent diagnosis. He must have arranged one for me. Sadly, he died while we were away - I'm gutted, he was a lovely, very conscientious doctor and really nice man. I'm 'under age' but the local health authority will carry them out if you're near enough and if there's family history.

I am, however, cacking bricks.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 21/08/2016 18:17

I hope your side effects have been manageable chewing.

Sad about your GP ikl, good that he arranged your mammogram.
It's a very sensible precaution, it'll be fine.

Not sure if there's a Pull-Up size to accommodate bricks Grin
