I used to get lifts from Dennis Waterman many years ago. Also my daughter's friend's auntie is Kate from Eastenders.

Wow. Or what?

spacemonkey · 01/06/2004 20:17

Mermaid2 · 01/06/2004 20:18

Ooops, sorry Janh, Axel was wearing a very skimpy pair of white lycra shorts which didn't leave a lot to the imagination and obviously wanted to get noticed.

cuppy · 01/06/2004 20:23

Bernie Clifton , the man who used to look like he was sat on a giant bird but really he wasnt.

I know!

lou33 · 01/06/2004 20:24

Classic

wilbur · 01/06/2004 20:27

Good on your film star trivia Tinker! I'd forgotten about Lyndsey de Paul. Yes, Suzywong, he's in Monsters Inc. He did quite a few voices as his voice was so deep. He was also one of the Magnificent Seven, for those who like old westerns. Died a couple of years ago, very sad.

Womba - that's so depreved about you and Wossy! Is that your rainy day News of the World story?

wilbur · 01/06/2004 20:29

depreved = new word, cross between depraved and peeved. No not really, I just can't type.

Allyco · 01/06/2004 20:29

popsycal - I live in Low Fell

Janh · 01/06/2004 20:29

Thanks for clearing that up, mermaid!

Forgot to mench, while working at Heathrow, encountered the Stones and Manfred Mann and the Animals and the bloke who sang "she wears my ring" (Solomon something?). Not exactly meeting however!

DH bumped into Lord Sutch in a local chippie in the same by-election we saw Ken Barlow in.

Ooh, and at Windsor Great Park once was this close to Prince Philip and a polo pony.

jampot · 01/06/2004 20:29

Just remembered saw Jasper Carrott in the car park at my GP's. He is a friend of GP. I was trying to reverse park my car into a tight spot and he was watching me do it and I was so anxious after watching him do his "dickhead" sketches!!

haha allyco........that explains something

dottee · 01/06/2004 20:30

I am watching my claim to fame on telly at the moment. Post divorce, I used to get bladded on a Friday with platonic friends on a Friday night and in our gang was Ian Aspinall aka Mubbs Hussain on Holby. He's a nice guy and a good dancer. And he once serenaded me with a drunken version of 'Wonderwall' I did try to get off with him another night but sadly failed.

Arthur Scargill has cropped up in my life - I dealt with some of his mum's estate when she died. He was very courteous on the phone.

Also, Peter Reid once had the hots for my French penfriend. He was playing for Bolton at the time and I did know some of the team as I was dating one of the apprentices. He asked me who she was he approached her saying, 'My name's Pierre and I like football'

womba1 · 01/06/2004 20:30

Wilbur....The News of the World is far too upmarket for my sluttish behaviour!!!!

Allyco · 01/06/2004 20:31

spacemonkey - it was a long time ago and he seemed quite big to me then. Anyways I always used to have to sit in the boot of his (estate) car as he was always giving lifts to his niece Lesley at the same time. So maybe come to think about it he looked smaller cos I was further away....

wilbur · 01/06/2004 20:32

OK - The Sport then...
