Zombie Continues Her Shuffle Into Spring

I had an excellent night's sleep and am having a bit of a lazy day. It's warm enough to have the window open and the sun is trying to peek out from behind the clouds.

I think I shall retire to the kitchen and see what culinary delights I can rustle up.

Glad you slept well last night Zombie. A good night's sleep can do you the power of good.

I'm off work with DS today. So far we've made bread, our own butter & some choc chip cookies as well as the pasta sauce for tea.

Into town for lovely lunch & a bit of shopping. DS had a massive piece of chocolate fudge cake. I asked for a small piece but I think the waitress has taken a shine to him.

Booked a wine tasting evening at the bistro for me & DH.

I'm shattered. I think this evening will just be DS & I chilling. DH is working so it's just me and the boy.

Delights sound good!

Shame I can't ship FidBoy2 over to you. He's doing catering at college & has decided to be the FidHouse chef. Think it has more to do with impressing girls than improving his marks but it's an improvement on his brother's "Dunno Mum, can't we order pizza?"

Tonight's menu features mushroom risotto with corn salad/lamb's lettuce (v popular here).

I'm going to give my mouth the ultimate challenge tonight: grilled rib eye steak, jacket potato with lashings of butter and soured cream and corn on the cob dripping in more butter.

Right now I'm cooking up some chicken breasts with carrot, onion, celery, salt and pepper. When it's cooked I'll remove the chicken breasts and let them cool / chill. Then I will chop them up with celery and spring onion and add half a jar some mayonnaise. Voila! Chicken salad! I have ripe tomatoes and avocados which will go very nicely. That's a few more meals ready.

Today's post brought a letter with an appointment to see my oncologist next Wednesday. I normally get a lot more notice than that.

Hmmm...

Hoping it's just them being really efficient. Maybe someone else cancelled?

Usual appointment frequency is every 3 or 4 cycles of chemo. I've only had 2 cycles since my last oncology appointment and am due the next cycle on Thursday.

After nearly 4 1/2 years of living with this bastard disease unexpected things worry me a bit.

I hope this will be just a routine apt Zombie. I can understand your worry and how it would be concerning for you. Perhaps they are going to change your medication or something like that.

It could well be that they are bringing appointments forward because of expected problems due to the strikes by various doctors.

Do try not to worry Zombie, though I know that's not easy.
