Does anyone else think Mumsnet is a bit clichey?

New to Mumsnet...been on it a few times, hardly anyone ever answers posts - and it seems like the same people 'chat' to each other, and it's really hard to get involved....

Fio, I am very jealous of your pulley system washing line - I have only ever seen them in Cornwall (noseying over garden walls trying to figure out how they work!) As the owner of a fairly small back garden I would really like one. I have a line on a reel so I can retract it whn not in use but it's a bit of a faff.

What do you call them Cod? Ie multiples. If you employ people they are surely staff. What about staff xmas parties etc.

NO they have to be on the payroll! Ie regular every week etc. How about employees then?

(unless you have your windows cleaned every week!)

I've been using MN quite a while, but don't post that often. I've often thought I had been ignored only to check back a couple of days later and find replies. I think like everyone has said people will reply if they can contribute to that particular thread. I don't feel that I have ever really fitted in here, but I also don't make that much of an effort so it's probably my fault. Have had some great advice and support tho I'm also glad that other people feel like thread killers as I often do. I thought it was my name (thoughts of hawaiin shirts and big moustaches) that was off putting. Anyway, wow sunlounger what a long thread you started !

Is there really such a thing as a thread killer? I have seen threads diverted, hijacked even, by little internal arguments/jokes/comments that spring up, but if the topic really has more serious discussion to run, it usually picks up again.
