New to Mumsnet...been on it a few times, hardly anyone ever answers posts - and it seems like the same people 'chat' to each other, and it's really hard to get involved....

what more can I say its a courtyard not a garden It has some toys on it and a plastic patio set and a barbeque and a few pots, some dog shit I havent cleaned up yet, 2 washing lines that are on a pully system (like in Italy) and a back passage and 2 lots of steps one up to the lounge and one down to the basement, is that enough for you CD me dear?

CODalmighty · 27/05/2004 12:04

like th pully sytem does ks know? she is a wanna be italiano who discusses reipes with italian mamas

CountessDracula · 27/05/2004 12:06

should you be discussing your back passage on the internet fio?

Fio2 · 27/05/2004 12:06

the pully system is great because it lifts all the washing high enough so the kids dont hang on it and you can forget its there when you are outside

SoupDragon · 27/05/2004 12:06

TWO lots of steps?? I feel so inadequate - I only have one.

Fio2 · 27/05/2004 12:06

the back passage is full of shit

CODalmighty · 27/05/2004 12:13

Just need to say something about nannies cos its bugging me. But nannies are actually cheaper than Nurserys. I have to go back to full time work cos we is skint and i cant afford to put two in fulltime nursery so a nanny (2nd year NNEB Mature student)works out alot better for me. Ill still only come home with a few extra pounds at the end of the month, but if it helps then thats great.
It also means cos im a paranoid mummy that wont leave my kids with anyone that i can watch how they are looked after.

Im not snobby and call her my student not my nanny. Got no cleaner either. And no family to help out. Will i be shot down for this

Lol at this thread!

Myyyyyyyy DH just got a fab promotion and as of March next year he will be earning 50% more than he does at the moment.... soooooo I think I'll go part-time AND get a cleaner.

papillon · 27/05/2004 12:56

50% more!!!!!!

that is one heck of a promotion

maisystar · 27/05/2004 13:00

right! i have just killed 2 threads in the last 10 mins, that must be worth something!

Toothache · 27/05/2004 13:05

Papillon - His wages were shockingly low to start with though. He's just been accepted onto the Management Trainee Scheme...

....did anyone hear something? I could've sworn I heard a mumble from a thread-killer.

pepsi · 27/05/2004 13:12

Im fairly new to the site to but I've had some really helpul replies to my ds's problems at nursery, its just a bit of luck as to whose looking at the site at which time, when I go on I often just look at the active conversations and the list updates so fast your thread can get pushed out. My confusion lies in the abbrieviations, yeah I get ds, dd, dh and all that but sometimes I get a bit lost. Keep trying as there is good advice out there and it helps to throw out the net when you are stuck rather than ask your own group of friends who sometimes just dont know the answers as they are not in your situation at that time.

What would you call them Coddy? I think when I do finally employ some domestic slaves I'll refer to them as my Subcontractors.
