Zombie hope your day has gone well and it's not too cold where you are. I do not take kindly to cold weather at all, so it was thick socks and boots on today. I don't like cold but I do love snow so I hope we get some here eventually.

I really have to apologise for having been out of commission quite a lot, so nice to find everyone here and all accounted for

I do have a reason, some pretty life changing news actually, we are moving back to Canada. AAAAAUUUGGGHHHH. Saying it out loud is very scary.

So as not to derail Zombie's lovely thread I have started my own here and really wouldn't mind a bit of hand holding if anyone is up for it and if no one minds.

Evening all.

Brief update: I'm doing OK. Wounds are healing nicely. Pain is pretty much non-existent; discomfort is minimal (nothing a couple of paracetamol at bedtime can't deal with). I was off my food for a few days but my appetite is returning. Sleep is fair to good. I'm going to bed around 01:00 and sleeping on and off until around 09:00. 2 hour early to mid afternoon nap.

I haven't been out since last Wednesday but will at least go to Ludlow for some shopping tomorrow.

Cats are still at Camp. I miss them dreadfully but won't be bringing them home until Sunday / Monday. A few days of house cleaning without them around are needed.

Anything I've forgotten?

Glad to see your appetite is coming back Zombie, plenty of good tasty meals and a lot of rest is the order of the day whilst you recover. Happy to see you aren't in any pain, that is a blessing in itself. Don't tire yourself by doing too much cleaning at once, it's another day tomorrow !

DH has done something so lovely!

At the weekend we were at my folks & the conversation got round to toys I played with as a kid. I talked about my real china dolls child's tea set that I loved & was so proud of. Every time I played with it I washed it & put it away carefully in its box.

One day - for reasons totally unknown - my cousin decided to put it on the back of his bike & ride round with it. Then he did a wheelie. My beloved tea set slid off & smashed to pieces. I was devastated & cried for ages.

Today a parcel arrived. DH had found a near identical tea set on eBay & bought it for me !!!

I'm relieved to report that I've survived my second keyhole surgery in 13 days.

The 5 lever mortice lock in the door died this morning. Resusitation attempts were unsuccessful. A transplant was required. Very nice locksmith saved the day.
