There's still plenty of room for posts on the current thread but I'm starting this one now as I may be offline for some time.

I've asked iklboo to keep an eye on my FB timeline and to copy / paste the updates here so they should appear as and when.

Make sure you have your chianti and fava beans ready for the 11th!

I went up to bed at 9.30 last night, read for a bit and lights off just after 10.00pm. Other than one loo visit at around 2.00am I slept until 10.00 this morning. Thank you drugs. Thank you hot water bottle.

I will get dressed in a few minutes and head off to Shrewsbury. First stop will be the hospital to have blood drawn. Second stop will be Sainsburys for food and a look through the Tu 25% off sale. Third stop will be Pets at Home.

I will then come home, organise my hospital appointments bag for tomorrow and relax for the evening.

How's the shoulder, Zombie?

Mummylin · 18/02/2016 10:07

Hope all goes well today Zombie and that all us favourable for you.
Everything going wrong here at the moment. Dd,s ex rearing his head again, my ex back in hospital, my Dh got some problem and is at the docs as I write this. I myself have a filthy cold.
Had two young mums knock my door yesterday to say there was an injured fox lasting in next doors garden. I went out with my gs and the poor little thing looked pitiful . He was dragging himself around and it was obvious he had a broken leg, also full of mange. This was at 1.45 pm. Eventually after several phone calls someone came out and they put him to sleep. One bit of advice I was given was " put a trail of food out for three or four days and if he can get to that he will be ok " I was livid. He looked a sorry state, laying in the rain, couldn't walk and was clearly in pain. They came three hours after my first phone call ! Very sad to see.

IamtheZombie · 18/02/2016 19:48

That was a LONG day.

Although I had to de-ice my windscreen, the roads were OK as long one was careful. I ditched a MaccyD brekkie for a proper breakfast at Carluccio's. On to the QE Hospital, collect my long lost purse from the cashiers' office and check in for my clinic appointment. Clinic is running an hour late. Called through to see the surgeon at a bit after 12 noon.

MRI report is a bit mixed. There is a "dubious" area adjacent to one of the areas that was removed in November. The suspect area shows clearly in one sequence of 'slides'. The better news is that it didn't "light up" in the sequence run after the contrast dye was injected. Outcome: Repeat MRI in 4 months. Hope for the best in the meantime.

Shuffle back to University station, catch train to New Street, find next train stopping at Telford. Drive from Telford to Shrewsbury. Grab a piece of cake and cup of coffee. Check in for chemo.

Chemo went like clockwork. All done and dusted in 1 hour 45 minutes. There was an amusing moment. My chemo nurse was at the cubicle directly across from mine. She pressed the hand gel dispenser and jumped a bit. "Oh! Part of that hit my face." I may have laughed. A bit loudly. Nurse turns around and says "Don't laugh at someone who puts needles in your veins." This time we both laughed.

Home, fed cats, made a cup of coffee and collapsed.

Hoping dubious is nothing at all!
Z cats keeping you company?

iklboo · 18/02/2016 19:53

Oh that sounds like an exhausting day Zombie. I hope you're settled in & snuggled down. Fingers crossed the 'dubious' area is something innocuous like some scar tissue. Or the radiographers thumb over the lens Grin (I know this can't happen but one can hope).

Get lots & lots of rest over the weekend and may any side effects be minimal & non-troublesome. xx

Mummylin · 18/02/2016 22:39

Hoping that it turns out to be nothing Zombie. Sounds like your nurse today has a good sense of humour, it must help all the patients to have cheerful nurses. I'm hoping that you have a good weekend with no side issues cropping up, although it's a bit cold to be outside ! So maybe stay in the warm, snuggle with zombie cats , and feed yourself well !

magimedi · 18/02/2016 22:59

All digits crossed for it being nothing.

As every one else say, rest up this w/e & gather yourself.

Sending loads of love..

(((xxx)))

FattyNinjaOwl · 19/02/2016 11:13

Hoping "dubious" is naff all.

How often do you have to tell 7 year olds that that particular top is now too small and needs to go back into the bag of too small clothes, ready to go to the charity shop? He's taken it out 3 times now!

IamtheZombie · 19/02/2016 12:54

Afternoon.

I had a very broken night's sleep. Today is a bad day. I feel extremely poorly. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING hurts. I'd go back to bed but don't have the energy to climb the stairs right now.

Bugger.

Goingtobeawesome · 19/02/2016 13:06

I was late to your threads, Zombie, but I often think of you. I see you're having a bad day and no one has responded so just wanted to wish you well and hope your pain eases and you get some rest. I've been up since 2:15am so hoping this makes sense.

FattyNinjaOwl · 19/02/2016 20:06

zombie hope you're feeling a bit better now
Did you make it back to bed?

Mummylin · 19/02/2016 22:02

Oh poor you Zombie, let's hope this will soon pass and hopefully you will be able to sleep better tonight and also have a lay in tomorrow.if you can't make it up to bed can you sleep on your sofa comfortably ?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 19/02/2016 23:31

Hi, Zombie sorry you're having such a rough time, I hope you made it up to bed sweetheart.

Really hope 'dubious' turns out to be nothing.

Snuggle up with those puss cats.

Lots of love xxx

marriednotdead · 20/02/2016 11:08

Sending my love and wishing you well from my Sarf Lundn train to work Flowers

Mummylin · 20/02/2016 11:38

Hope you managed a better night last night Zombie. I do wish we all lived nearer to you so we could help you out at times like this. I hope the side effects will soon leave you and you will feel better. Are you managing to eat ok ?

IamtheZombie · 20/02/2016 13:24

Still aching and aching and aching.

At least my temperature is behaving itself.

Another day down the drain.

OP posts:
Mummylin · 20/02/2016 13:42

Do you have something to take for your aches ? It must be so miserable when you feel so rough.is it normally about 4 or 5 days when you have side effects ?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 20/02/2016 18:55

Aw, Zombie try not to think of it as down the drain, you're recuperating.

If you are staying warm and eating a bit and feeding the ZCats and your temperature is OK, that's another day towards feeling better and that's enough.

FattyNinjaOwl · 21/02/2016 19:45

zombie how are you today? Any better?

IamtheZombie · 22/02/2016 15:09

Afternoon Phalanx.

I've had very rough few days but started turning the corner last night. I'm hoping that by tomorrow I'll be back to normal (whatever normal is).

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 22/02/2016 18:37

Very pleased to hear you're feeling better Z Flowers

It's quite a gruelling regime isn't it, is the chemo every 4 weeks?

FattyNinjaOwl · 22/02/2016 19:00

Glad you're feeling a bit better. Hopefully you will carry on improving.

iklboo · 22/02/2016 19:06

Hey Zombie glad you're picking up. I hope you keep improving and feel much better soon.

IamtheZombie · 22/02/2016 19:41

Every 3 weeks, BBB.

Thanks, NinjaOwl and ikl.

Shrewsbury are playing Man Utd in the FA Cup this evening. Can I count on the strength of the Phalanx in support? Wink
