There's still plenty of room for posts on the current thread but I'm starting this one now as I may be offline for some time.

I've asked iklboo to keep an eye on my FB timeline and to copy / paste the updates here so they should appear as and when.

Make sure you have your chianti and fava beans ready for the 11th!

Oh how lovely BBB , you must be so excited. My niece expecting too it's due Aug 1st. Have you got an expected date yet ? What an exciting year this is going to be for you. But what about the horses ? Grin

iklboo · 09/02/2016 19:06

Yay BBB! Very exciting & happy news Wine

FattyNinjaOwl · 09/02/2016 19:11

lin your niece is due on Nathans first birthday!

Mummylin · 09/02/2016 20:19

I wonder if he / she will actually come on his birthday Fatty. They originally gave 27 th July but now it's changed.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 09/02/2016 20:29

Aw, wasn't expecting such quick responses, you are all lovely Flowers

Due mid August.

What about the sodding horses indeed lin! I may need a hotline to your inbox darling, for hit-the-ground-running advice!

Mummylin · 09/02/2016 20:57

So you and I will both be excited in August. My niece is the Dd of my sister that died , so we are especially happy for her.
I love my gc BBB. They and my own dc have absolutely enhanced my life. You have such a lot to look forward to.
I could put one in one of my greenhouses if you like, the other one is too small for a horse !

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 09/02/2016 21:30

Do you mean the dgc in the greenhouse? Or the horse?

I am massively looking forward to it and have always wished I could skip being a parent and go directly, without passing 'go', to being a grandparent.

I'm not really naturally maternal but am excellent at being a bad influence Grin

There's already a lot of planning for late August/ early Sept. when I may be needed to take charge! For between 4-6 hours.

I don't object in principle but have suggested that maybe requirements will change when we actually get there.

Apparently not Grin

Meanwhile, I'm the wicked witch of the west (no offence intended to anyone wicked, westerly, or indeed witches) because I have avoided making any commitment so far.

Awww...

Congratulations and best wishes to your DD, BBB. The Phalanx will expect a live birth thread you know.

BBB - I became a granny last year & it was the bestest thing that has ever happened to me.

I'd always thought it would be quite nice but nothing prepared me for the overwhelming rush of love that came when she was placed in my arms for the first time.

We MUST meet up & knit or drink gin (or both!)

Many congratulations!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 09/02/2016 22:57

Thank you all for good wishes, I might need you on speed dial magi Smile

I have been very kindly told that my presence will not be required at the birth (ahem, I wasn't offering)

FattyNinjaOwl · 10/02/2016 09:05

My mum loves being a nan. She said that when you have kids you don't think you can love anyone as much, then your grandkids come along. Grin

Hello Zombie and the Phlanx Smile

Just realised I haven't posted since Christmas which seems like a lifetime ago now so I shall blabber on and update you a bit. Have just attempted to catch up with all your shenanigans since then, circuses, animals, birthdays plus the all important ongoing chemo, which I'm very pleased is ongoing.

Have just about recovered from an evil viral thing that had me off work for 10 days, in bed for the first 3 of them, and then damn near broke my pelvic floor with all the coughing...
Both my DCs are Aquarians, the eldest had her birthday a couple of weeks ago and DS will be 19 on Monday.
Been mega busy as DD plus her DP and 2 yo DGS are moving in with me over the next couple of days. I agree, being a grandparent is brilliant and I was honoured to be at his birth- wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Have had to reconfigure the house to fit everyone in so the lounge will be my bedsit, and my dining room a smaller lounge. Am very happy to have them here so they can save to get on the property ladder- we all get along even better now ex is gone. I shall be a completely free woman when my decree absolute comes through at some point next month. Great timing as my family are throwing me a big do to celebrate my 50th at the end of April.

Hope everyone is wrapped up warm with their refreshment of choice WineBrewCake Smile

Mummylin · 10/02/2016 20:15

Hi married it seems that you have a very good arrangement worked out and good that you can still have your own space. Glad that you will soon be free !

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 13/02/2016 17:37

Bonsoir Phalanx Wine

Nice to see you married, it sounds like an exciting new chapter of your life.

Hope you're OK Z, I'll work on the live birth thread, it might have to be in Portuguese!

Mummylin · 14/02/2016 20:20

Hi everyone, miserable day here and it's freezing. No snow forecast here though but the gritting lorises are out. Not been home long so my house is freezing cold. Will soon warm up though. Waiting to put my warm PJ, s on so I can veg out. Hope everyone is well and especially you Zombie. Have you got appointments this coming week ?

magimedi · 14/02/2016 22:38

A wave from me- cold here - not so much the actual temps but the cold, wet wind off the sea.

Winter can just FUCK OFF as far as I am concerned.

iklboo · 14/02/2016 22:42

Sorry Lin I know it's a typo, but I love the idea of gritting lorises

IamtheZombie · 15/02/2016 23:51

I have somehow managed to bugger at least part of the rotator cuff in my left shoulder / upper arm. It's been hurting like hell for 2 days now. I can't lift that arm even up to shoulder level. I've tried hot water bottles, ibuprofen, paracetamol and even morphine. The morphine almost but not quite took the edge off.

Tomorrow I need to do a small shop. Wednesday I have my pre-chemo bloods drawn. Thursday (DEEP breath) I have an appointment at the Liver Clinic at the QE Hospital at 11.00am and chemo at the Royal Shrewsbury at 3.30pm. That will be a long, Long, LONG day.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 15/02/2016 23:54

Oh no Zombie. That sounds awful. If morphine isn't knocking it on the head it must be a nightmare. Seen GP or physio? How will you manage your busy Thursday? (Guessing driving not happening.)

Mummylin · 16/02/2016 10:22

Is it a frozen shoulder Zombie ? I know from experience that is very painful. I hope whatever it is that the docs can sort it out for you or at least get the pain under control.
Sounds like you have yet another extremely busy day on Thursday, I hope all will go well.

Mummylin · 16/02/2016 10:23

Ikl, what funny little creatures, I have never heard of them before, but yes it would look very strange to see them gritting the roads !

magimedi · 16/02/2016 10:40

Zombie - how rotten. I've had 2 frozen shoulders & know how debilitating shoulder pain is. Hope you can get it sorted.

All fingers crosse for Thursday.

IamtheZombie · 16/02/2016 12:15

Afternoon.

Wolfie, I have no option other than driving. I'm doing a short trip (15 miles round trip) today so I'll see how that goes.

lin and magi, this is definitely NOT a frozen shoulder.

I think something in the shoulder was slightly displaced (God alone knows how!) as when I was trying to pull my jimjam top off, something went CLICK. It still hurts but not as much (of course that could be the residual effects of the rather generous dose of morphine I took just before going to bed last night) and I have a slightly improved range of motion since the CLICK. Fingers crossed it will sort itself out soon.

Anyway at least I'm now showered and dressed. Hair wash was interesting.

OP posts:
magimedi · 16/02/2016 12:50

I am greatly relieved for you that it is not a frozen shoulder - thye go on & on & on.

Take it easy & keep up the ibuprofen.

FattyNinjaOwl · 16/02/2016 21:33

Oh zombie ouch! I hope it improves, you have such a busy day on Thursday!
