There's still plenty of room for posts on the current thread but I'm starting this one now as I may be offline for some time.

I've asked iklboo to keep an eye on my FB timeline and to copy / paste the updates here so they should appear as and when.

Make sure you have your chianti and fava beans ready for the 11th!

Gorgeous flowers lin, I've had a couple of big bunches too and my friend called in this morning so we had to be polite and crack a bottle Smile

You too BBB , well I am ready and Ds isn't ! I was told I had to be ready by6.30 so plenty of time. How exciting ! I think I will have to be suitably surprised or Dh will be disappointed ! But of course I could of got it all wrong !

Well I was correct. There were 14 of us altogether ! My biggest surprise was that two of my brothers don't get on and one of them will not accept an invite to anywhere he thinks the other brother is, not a wedding, a party just anything, well they were both there with their wives !! It was such a lovely surprise. They both sat at opposite ends of the table, but the fact they were both there was fabulous, they even all came back to my home for drinks afterwards. We did have a small hiccup though. There should of been another couple of people but through illness couldn't make it. We had had our main meal,when my Ds and gs were asked to move off their table so that they could use it for other people , which we weren't impressed with. They didn't ask nicely and were rude. My Ds was not amused as he had been in a conversation with one of my brothers. Then they had to move. I then went and saw the manager and complained and I said we would not be paying the 10% added on. He agreed to this. No- one brought us the sweet menu. So I had to ask for that, by this time about 30 mins after the main meal had passed. Anyway when my Ds went to sort out the bill, he too complained and in the event was offered another 10% off the bill ! So outcome was, the meal was lovely, the service was appalling but despite all of this I had a lovely evening. Oh and on the way we stopped at one of my long time friends house and she came out and got in the car !!! We have been friends since our kids were small and I was only speaking to her yesterday morning and I told her we were going out, when unbeknown to me she already knew !! But I would not of changed the evening for anything ! So it has been a lovely birthday which lasted two days !!!
And one other little thing, my Dd,s dog has had a baby ! She is going through a phantom pregnancy and has a baby rubber hamburger !!!

Oooh Lin - all things considered (and twatty service aside) that does sound lovely. I'm glad you had a great time and hatchets were at least put to one side so you could have a fab night.

Zombie - hope you had a lovely night with your friend & that the MRI went well.

Right. I'm off to make myself some breakfast (DH has taken DS rugby training). Who's for a bacon butty?

I'm safely back and tucked up at home.

MRI was long and boring. I'll get the results on the 18th. I must say there's something slightly strange about hospitals in the evening. All of the day's hustle and bustle is over. There are very few people about. I get to do it all again tomorrow evening at the Royal Shrewsbury for my CT scan.

Dinner with my friends was fabulous. We've sworn that we're going to arrange a weekend in DDS soon.

Rowdy drunks on the train back to Telford. Thank goodness they got off in Wolverhampton. Otherwise I might have needed to stand up and yell STFU at them.

Good night's sleep and good breakfast. Slow trawl around Tesco and home.

It may be time for a nap...

The wind is horrendous here at the moment, can't imagine how much worse it will get. Neighbours fence down already. Hope you have all battened down the hatches ! Dorset on Amber alert from about midnight I think !

I am soaked through to my knickers. Back in office today & it's just bucketed down the whole time. Then some rapscallion decided it would be a jolly wheeze to speed right through a puddle. I got drenched. I may have run through my entire repertoire of swear words in under a minute.

Plus I've got to walk DS to cubs & back. Then there & back again for pick up time. I'm cold, I'm wet, I ache & I'm knackered and dizzy.

And no chocolates or cake cos I'm on a diet.

I do hope Zombie, BBB, Lin & the rest of you lovely ladies have had a better day.

It is unbelievable, we are particularly exposed, being next to a windmill!

Hope the CT scan is/was OK Z. I suppose you have to take appts. when they're given but I hate driving at night too, especially in bad weather.

I love curly wurlys. But they've made them smaller.
