There's still plenty of room for posts on the current thread but I'm starting this one now as I may be offline for some time.

I've asked iklboo to keep an eye on my FB timeline and to copy / paste the updates here so they should appear as and when.

Make sure you have your chianti and fava beans ready for the 11th!

Right. I have velcroed my bum to the horse. Well, when I say horse at the minute it's a giant bean bag. The landlord gets antsy about livestock in the house and it's raining.

DS's Nerf gun has been put to tremendous use. I can now hit the target pretty well. Sellotaping a pic of Keith Allen to it has helped tremendously.

I just need to sort out my music. Thinking 'March of the Baby Elephants' or Slipknot.......

iklboo · 05/01/2016 14:01

What colour is the sky on your DM's planet? Does she do day trips? Crikey - that's a whole new level of delusional!

FattyNinjaOwl · 05/01/2016 17:02

I'm fine lin I just decided to be a sinister clown Grin

iklboo · 05/01/2016 17:27

Ignore my second post. It was meant for an entirely different thread. Flippin' 'eck. This training is tiring.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 05/01/2016 22:41

Grin Ikl I spent a minute trying to figure out that post Grin scrolling back to see what I'd missed!

ZombieCatG could maybe be incorporated into Ikl's knife throwing turn.
Can you handle buttery knives Ikl?

Does ZCatM have a preferred diameter or is she flexible?
Could she be coaxed into a figure of eight?
Would it phase her to lead waltzing ponies d'you think?

Is ZCatT fussing about who/what she headbutts?
Still waiting for inspiration on that one Smile any ideas anyone?

I think your crochet will add softening aspect to an otherwise edgy performance lin, please incorporate it wherever the opportunity presents.

Evening all.

Tomorrow I have my echo-cardiogram and my pre-chemo bloods drawn.

Tonight I feel a bit crappy. It's been building up for a couple of days.

Bloated abdomen to the point of great discomfort. Peppermint oil gets rid of most of the wind but also loosens already loose bowels. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Decisions, decisions.

Probably related to the above as said bloating makes me look about 8 months pregnant, my keyhole surgery scars are irritating the hell out of me. I can hardly stand having anything touching them. They're well healed. They don't appear to be infected. They're just super sensitive.

Severe hayfever (surely not in a wet January!) / other allegic or coming down with a cold symptoms.

So I'm going to say BahHumbug and have an early night.

Don't mind me. Don't worry. I just needed a whinge.

Sleep well and sweet dreams to all. xxx

zombie it all sounds knackering, I don't blame you for getting an early night. And its probably a cold coming on at this time of year. I'm the same, sore throat, snuffly etc but it hasn't developed yet.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 06/01/2016 00:19

That sounds really uncomfortable Z.

Do you try any physical relief like yoga positions? Headstand can really help.
Not anything gruelling, just pillow on floor for your head and feet against the wall, or it can work on the bed depending on configuration.

I particularly like crouching, face down, knees up, bottom in the air ... and wiggle Grin

New scars are bound to be sensitive aren't they, there are anaesthetic sprays that might help numb them for a while until they toughen up.

I hate to say it but it's possible that you're reacting to ZCats re sneezing, you've had a lot of antibiotics which can re-jig all your body responses.

Hope tomorrow goes well (((Bear)))

iklboo · 06/01/2016 14:48

One of the best things DH got me for Christmas was a facial steamer & aromatherapy oils. I started being snuffly between Christmas & new year, popped it on with the eucalyptus oil and felt grand the next day. Might be worth an investment? I've also found it's helped with relaxation too.

magimedi · 06/01/2016 17:39

Bio oil is meant to be wonderous for all types of scars. Not too expensive, would it be worth a try?

Hope you are feeling better tonight.

Actually got out for a walk in weak sunshine today - amazing.

Mummylin · 06/01/2016 22:04

Hope you feel a bit better today Zombie and that your checks went well today.Did you get to have breakfast today?
Phalanx I have not been practising today as I have been restoring my house back to normal today and now feel knackered !

FattyNinjaOwl · 07/01/2016 07:41

I've not been practising either. DD is snotty and grumpy. She told me she "no like hot hurty" (she had a temp)

IamtheZombie · 07/01/2016 10:25

Morning.

Thanks for the suggestions about the scars. I'll pop into Boots while I'm in town today and pick up some oil. I doubt I'll be trying any yoga positions though. I couldn't manage a headstand when I was younger and more supple never mind now that I'm ancient and decrepit!

The bloating is the real problem. I'm still trying to find the balance between the peppermint oil and the immodium...

Yesterday went well. The echo showed normal sinus rhythm throughout with nary an ectopic beat to be seen. The sonographer said everything looked fine. Then I traipsed off to visit the vampires and had my pre-chemo bloods drawn. No breakfast, alas, as my appointment was mid-afternoon.

Today is chemo day. I'm a bit excited about this.

Hope your session goes as well as possible today and that you don't have to go through any bad reactions this time. How many sessions do you have to have ?

iklboo · 07/01/2016 17:41

Evening all. This is probably a silly question - but how long would an open bottle of Bailey's last in the fridge (in terms of expiry, not how fast you'd neck it).

We've got some left from Christmas but are back to dieting hard & doing Dryuary - apart from virtual phalanx gin rations of course.

So....will it go off by Feb? Or can I look forward to a wee tipple in 23 days, 6 hours and 19 minutes?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 07/01/2016 18:24

My research with Baileys has tended to be short and sharp Grin

My guess is that it will be fine, especially in the fridge, the spirit will preserve it.

If it's gone off you'll know as soon as you open it.

Hope today went well Z and FX for no side effects.

iklboo · 07/01/2016 18:39

Thanks B3 - that's what I thought. There's not a lot left - but it'll cheer up my February coffees! Grin

IamtheZombie · 07/01/2016 19:04

I'm home and all went well. Blood results were their typical excellent. Oddly I didn't get at all drowsy despite the Piriton.

lin, how long is a piece of string? I'll have a treatment every 3 weeks indefinitely. (I've already done a projected list of treatment dates for the whole of 2016.) When / if the current chemo stops working, my oncologist will put me onto something else. It will continue like that until either I die; the point is reached where there is no other treatment to offer to me; or I decide enough is enough and voluntarily discontinue treatment.

ikl, just give me a shout if you need any help with that Baileys!

BBB, thanks. Any side effects should show up sometime this weekend. Then I start my week of Ciprofloxicin on Monday.

magimedi · 07/01/2016 19:31

Zombie - just sending you lots of love & am bowled over by your realistic attitude to everything.

Major ration of gin goes to you & you alone.

Ikl - Baileys is disgusting (IMHO) & I reckon it's gone off already. Grin

Very, very, non pc BIL calls it 'tart fuel'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(And we all wonder why he is on his fourth marriage - three of which have been in the last 6 years!!!!!!!)

iklboo · 07/01/2016 20:14

Maji - you need to mix Bailey's with either Jack Daniel's (a Jack Knife), vodka (a Shillelagh) or in your coffee. Or poured over ice creammmmmmmmm.

You're not helping, you know Grin

iklboo · 07/01/2016 20:16

Magi even. Bloody phone & IOS update finking it knows better than me & The Phalanx.

FattyNinjaOwl · 07/01/2016 21:28

I have Bailey's in the fridge too ikl I didn't drink it. I'm scared to drink right now. It's been so long with having the youngest so close together! I would get drunk from the fumes.
zombie how do you stay so level headed?! I am in awe of you.

Mummylin · 07/01/2016 21:31

Glad it all went well Zombie. I think you are a real trouper to go through everything that you do and still maintain your humour and good spirits. I hope you will have none or minimal side effects so you can enjoy the weekend. Have you pencilled any dates in to go and visit zombielad or for him to come here ?

Wolfiefan · 07/01/2016 21:35

I too have Baileys!
WHAT NO BREAKFAST! T'is a heinous crime!
How about peppermint tea for tummy issues Zombie?
Oh and I too have a head butting cat. (And another one who chews DH's head. Whole nother story!)
Shock

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 07/01/2016 21:47

Tchuh! Just ignore magi, she only likes gin and tennis players.

There is a time to sip guzzle something with a bit more substance.

The best additions to Baileys are mince pies, Christmas pudding, pannetone, lebkuchen, apple pie, flapjack, weetabix, yorkshire pud Grin

Can't do all that with gin can you?

I've never kept it in the fridge though. Doesn't it go claggy?

KOKO Zomb you'll beat the fucker Flowers
