There's still plenty of room for posts on the current thread but I'm starting this one now as I may be offline for some time.

I've asked iklboo to keep an eye on my FB timeline and to copy / paste the updates here so they should appear as and when.

Make sure you have your chianti and fava beans ready for the 11th!

Going - I've had loads of support & health advice from the lovely ladies here.

magimedi · 30/12/2015 22:41

going - get going - pop in here & we'll care for you.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 31/12/2015 00:19

Blimey Zombie I remember when you started a thread because scrotebag had buggered off. I think that's when we first 'met'.
Was that really four years ago? Shock!

Going and pudding you really don't have to say anything momentous or erudite, you only have to read the thread to see that Grin

Just tell us what you had for breakfast!

I was given a very lovely bottle of sloe gin while I was away, so I am politely sipping slurping my way through it

IamtheZombie · 31/12/2015 00:24

The cancer journey started just over 4 years ago, BBB. Scrotebag started his affair just over 3 years ago; buggered off for the first time in February 2013; 'came back' for 4 weeks in August/September 2013 and left for good (in more ways than one!) that same September.

Oh, and we met in RL on 30 November 2013. I'll never forget that night!!!

I often end up here talking to myself after the DBF Team have gone to bed, very pleasant it is too.

Was just thinking, we could reinstate the ravine for a while; it would suit newly emerged Phalanx members because they could each have their own cave with promontory for a fire, rope and basket.

We'd know they were there and they could nip out and wave, send a message, place an order even.

Can anyone remember who was in charge of ropes and pulleys?

IamtheZombie · 31/12/2015 00:35

I think that's an excellent idea, BBB. Despite its tardis like qualities the Dustbinâ„¢ did become a bit overcrowded. I really liked the Ravineâ„¢.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 31/12/2015 00:54

Well that's quite a salutary circle Zomb; I only ever lurked in the Dustbin.

Was very early MN days for me Smile

The ravine was peaceful and pretty wasn't it?

We could plant some bulbs ...

hic!

IamtheZombie · 31/12/2015 01:06

Bulbs are already up all over my garden. Snowdrops, daffs, crocuses. 'Twill be a gorgeous display until the cold snap kills them all off.

Ah. Bulbs. Gardens. Must put the gardener's money in the paper box before I go to bed. And close the curtains so he can't peer through the window looking for me.

You are up late tonight on here ! I have only just come home from Dd,s.
Zombie we too have lots of bulbs coming up and I have a geranium put in one of the baskets we had in the summer. Also 4 little roses on my mums climbing rose. Isn't it all strange.
What is this dustbin and ravine you speak about ?

FattyNinjaOwl · 31/12/2015 01:35

Hi.
zombie I've just read your back story thread, and thought I'd join you on your journey. You're awesome.

IamtheZombie · 31/12/2015 01:55

I beg to differ, FattyNinjaOwl. I'm just the Zombie.

I worked out early on that I could either waste a lot of time and energy bemoaning my fate or I could just get on with living life and decided to invest that time and energy into doing just that.

Welcome to the Dustbinâ„¢, Ravineâ„¢, Phalanxâ„¢! Make yourself comfortable and keep on swimming.

Thank you. I still declare the zombie awesome though. Wink

Mummylin · 31/12/2015 02:30

Welcome fatty to the damnbuggerfuck team DBF for short ! Or our out her name us is the phalanx ! Now I can chat to you in two places !
Zombie is the leader of the pack here and is a very stoic lady. She eats a lot of breakfasts at McDonald's, but despite this she is still a zombie !

FattyNinjaOwl · 31/12/2015 02:45

To be fair, chances are McDonald's are serving brain Grin

DoctorTwo · 31/12/2015 04:27

Morning Zombie. I lurk more than I post because that's what I do.

Morning? Who am I fucking kidding, it's the middle of the night!

Goingtobeawesome · 31/12/2015 09:59

Thanks everyone. I had crunchy nut cornflakes!

I'm getting 1-3 hours of deep sleep a night so feeling knackered. Currently on antibiotics. Not working though. Pharmacist thinks I might have something really serious wrong but won't say it out loud Confused. Planning GP visit next week to see why the antibiotics aren't working.

Already done a massive shop. Kids spent the night at PIL and the eldest wants to come home before lunch. Annoying but bearable as I've decided they can make their own lunch..

Currently have a migraine as well as pain from being ill so I think I'm allowed chocolate soon. Accidentally bought a fudge milkshake thing (DH bought one but I missed the use by date) along with a toy for the Guinea pigs, so I'll have that too. Not allowed alcohol. Boo.

magimedi · 31/12/2015 10:36

I was about to suggest a ration of Phalanx gin on yr cornflakes, until I read to the end of the post.

Hope the migraine goes soon - drink lots of water.

puddingisgood · 31/12/2015 12:56

Hope all who are feeling under the weather start to improve soon.
I hate New Year, and would happily go to sleep now and wake up on Jan 2nd given the choice. Sigh, I'm not given the choice. Thank goodness for mn to distract me.

Goingtobeawesome · 31/12/2015 13:20

I'm on the water. Wondering if it is caffeine withdrawal. I've been having Coke over the holidays but have run out. Have taken two paracetamol and they are helping a bit. I'm going to be back on water.

I also want to start running with DH but feel dc3 is too young to be left.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 31/12/2015 15:09

Hi FattyNinja and Doctor are either of you any good at knot tying by any chance?

lin I would have sworn that you were here when we were in the Ravine.

We sent messages and presents mostly Wine in little baskets on ropes that stretched from one cave to another.
And I seem to remember having a sing-song?

I'm out for the night tonight so will wish you all a Very Happy New Year now.

FattyNinjaOwl · 31/12/2015 15:43

Nope. Can't tie knots, unless it's a basic double knot you need. Grin I really should learn though, knowing how to tie knots may come in handy for keeping my DC under control.

DoctorTwo · 31/12/2015 15:50

Sorry Bcubed, I can do me laces up, and that's about it.

iklboo · 31/12/2015 16:50

DS is in the Cubs - he's got his knot badge?

iklboo · 31/12/2015 19:42

Oh delightful Team DBF members
On this last of the days of December's
I heartily thank you for all that you've done
For all of the tears and all of the fun
For handholding, arse kicking, un-Mumsnetty hugs
For swearing, for caring, for reading my blogs
For laughter, for knowledge, for making me grin
For listening to grumbles and giving me gin
To the Queen of The Phalanx, our Zombie herself
I wish for ongoing steadfastness in health
To all of our merry crew - all posters here
I wish each and everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Hope 2016 is everything you wish it to be.

Love to every damn, buggery, fucking one of ya!
