lanismum · 03/11/2006 13:00

thumbs, happy birthday!! do you have anything nice planned?

mythumbelinas · 03/11/2006 13:02

thanks mrsratty and lanismum .. no nothing planned .. i used to, but now i'm too old. I have my pressie from dh, and i'm going to have 3 lamb chops for lunch yummmm

mrsratty · 03/11/2006 13:03

Beaubabe - I'm not sure how it works but they couldn't charge you for potential jobs as you are not contracted to take the jobs they give you everyone can refuse jobs. You could only get charged if you accept a job and then let them down last minute.

beaubebe · 03/11/2006 13:06

mrsratty
It's all a bit technical and scary looking too. Fink I'm just nervous that it will all go wrong if I start changing things wiv contract etc.
Don't fink I am even sposed to apply for other jobs on StarNow for her either?!

marymay · 03/11/2006 13:07

there is no way on earth i would let my 10 year old dd have a spray tan or false nails.
she is allowed to but a bit of lip gloss on for a party and nine times out of ten i make her wipe some of it off.the mum also said she would be happy if the little girl did glamour modelling when she is sixteen.nice

mythumbelinas · 03/11/2006 13:08

beaubebe, my dd1 went for the pop party casting too, and somebody else i got to know .. we both didn't get it either.

mrsratty · 03/11/2006 13:12

beaubebe - I think star now jobs are okay if they are unpaid or expenses only. If they are paid you would probably have to do it through your agency.

mrsratty · 03/11/2006 13:12

mythumbelinas - how old are your children?

mrsratty · 03/11/2006 13:13

beaubebe - are you on the full or email package with allsorts?

FizBangWhooooosh · 03/11/2006 13:16

julie4travel thanks for the advice, i'll check it out.

i think will take dd to scallywags just to see what it's like.

will check out the website you posted too.

tbh, not even really sure if this is something we could acheive as i work 4 days a week so not sure i could dedicate the necessary time.

i'd love her to do something like this tho as i'm sure she has the right personality (not to mention looks LOL!) to enjoy it.

it's all a bit scary tho!

lindac · 03/11/2006 13:16

Julie- have emailed you- have had no internet for a week ellesmum- what advert is your little one in ? il look out for it
i hope you are all well
the rest of the filming went realy well, it was a long long day but my dd loved it, she had her own trailer and didnt want for anyhing, the journey was fine no more sickness !! we have finished now and cant wait to see the result, but its not coming out to the cinema till next year,
How's it going for everyone have you had lots of castings and jobs the thread always seems so long when you havent been on for a while and hard to catch up on x

beaubebe · 03/11/2006 13:17

I have only applied for student film type things that are unpaid anyway so thats ok.
Thumbs which agency r u wiv then? I met afew from KidsLon and 1 other from Alls too.

mrsratty · 03/11/2006 13:18

i cannot believe that woman said that on national tv about her 10 year old daughter. she should be hung, drawn and quartered.

mythumbelinas · 03/11/2006 13:20

lindac · 03/11/2006 13:24

mrsratty - its the authour blake morrisons(colin firth) life story about his father(jim broadbent)dying of cancer, my dd is in flash back scenes from his childhood, its his book 'and when did you last see your father' also in it are sarah lancaster (my dd's mum) and juliette stephenson (from bend it like beckham) it was excellent she was treated like a star !and will be in the christas flash backs, its set in 1964 and her outfit was great

BigmummaL · 03/11/2006 13:25

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I recently heard sent some photos of my son to several different model agnencies and heard back from Rascals, Norrie Carr and Urban Angels. We decided not to go with rascals as they were expensive and have so far paid the assessment fee for Norrie carr and have the photoshoot booked for 15th November. Urban Angels said they were interested and would contact us later this month to see him. I have looked on child modelling.net but any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

julie4travel · 03/11/2006 13:25

fizbangwhoosh - good luck if you go to scallywags there is a shopping centre with toilets in it if you want to change your childs clothes. luckily we didn't have to yet it was reassuring to know when we went for the photoshoot afterwards!

ellesmum- dropped you a brief email

lindac, littlemadam just read your emails only on here for a few mins so will reply later

lindac sounds like she had a great time bless her

thumbs happy birthday

Happy birthday, thumbs! Hope you get spoilt a bit and get to put your feet up today.

Sounds awful with that little girl on This morning - can't help think of which values she has been taught are important in life.
