julie4travel · 16/11/2006 10:47

newdkmum- well done on winning the comp. we were with sw last year. the photos from my ds shoot were superb the best ones we have had by far yet, he got my ds jumping, running etc and doing moving pictures they are great. they are a professional agency and so much better when you haven't had to pay out the fees. Good luck hope you get loads of work from them. the hotel break sounds a great bonus too, well done!

The shoot yeasterday went really well. It was the smae photographer who did Pimms sons poicture with the christmas puddings. The clothes and hair were very cool, can't wait to see the pictures which should be out in January!

mysonsmummy · 16/11/2006 11:06

Lolly68 · 16/11/2006 11:08

Well done MysonsMummy in Woolies job.

Well done to Thorntons also.

LM - saw DS on Disney website - will pop to Kingston Disney to see if any brochures there for you.

yackertyyack · 16/11/2006 11:12

mysons - kentish town west is not far from the studios, i would say about 5/10min walk. Wouldn't recommend it with a pushchair though as there is loads of stairs!!!!! Can't recall how old your ds is...sorry!!

mysonsmummy · 16/11/2006 11:28

yack - hes 5 - think i will go with the train. or do you know if its easy to park as i could then visit my brother on way back - oh god dont know what the best way to go!!

Longlegs1972 · 16/11/2006 12:12

Hello ladies/gents(?) I know most of you are based down south but as you are involved in modelling do any of you know of a Northern (Manchester ish) reputable agency for my 'far too gorgeous to have come from me' child...?

Tinkerbel5 · 16/11/2006 12:18

mysons good luck for the shoot tomorrow.

longlegs Im not sure myself, but have a look here

Longlegs1972 · 16/11/2006 12:21

Brilliant thanks x

julie4travel · 16/11/2006 12:26

longlegs1972- there is one called boss in manchester i think. not sure if anyone on here is with them. there is a few with dk who i think are more sheffield. some other northern people use the london agencies and commute down for jobs. Good luck in your decisions. Child modelling.net has lots of profiles of agencies on it.

mummaj · 16/11/2006 12:29

Hi ladies... just wanted your help.. DD has been offered contracts with Bizzykids & Bruce & Brown anyone know which is better to go with.

I'd really appreciate your comments! Ta!

julie4travel · 16/11/2006 12:37

mummyaj- b and b are one of the best in the industry. the owner kispey is lovely and the girls nice. My ds is with them, they are quite selective. you dont have to pay initially like some other agencies charge for assesments etc. it was lovely to join an agency with no fees etc. although we have choice to go into next years model book and have paid for that. its not compulsary yet recommended. thumbs up for b and b from me!

OP posts:
yackertyyack · 16/11/2006 12:44

mumma aj - i would personally choose b&b as they have far less children on their books, no upfront fees and a good record of lots of work for their kids. How old is your dd??? Well done! Hope she is getting some nice jobs soon.

mummaj · 16/11/2006 12:44

Oh great thanks! I'm pretty chuffed because when I sent the pics through I got an auto response saying the books were closed till March 07, but they have called me today and said they like her so much they would like to sign her anyway!

Have you found that they are good for giving you a lot of notice with castings or is it very last minute?

Ragamuffin · 16/11/2006 12:51

mummaj......Well Done on getting accepted by Bruce and Brown. They are one of THE top agents!!!! Definately go with them. Afraid generally in this industry most things are short notice....like evening before for a casting the next day. Occassionally you have a day or two notice if you are booked for a job.

julie4travel · 16/11/2006 12:53

mummyaj- we only joined end aug yet some of the others on here have been with them since earlier in the year and can give you a better idea on castings etc. i had one where we had a days notice in half term and that was fine we just rearranged the plans slightly. do you have to go for assesment or are they taking you on without it. we had to go for assesment they took a snap shot and my ds was on their site being submitted for jobs as soon as they had the paperwork back from me. they dont waste time which is great. personally i would say if you got accepted by b and b , mot , kl , or ua i would jump at the chance and not dither around. i dithered for months as a lot fo the top ones said no for my ds until b and b came uptrumps. i dont think anyone on here or cmnet would say anything bad about b and b as they do get the work! Good luck
