lindac · 11/11/2006 16:23

just thought i would let you know my grandson is on the bubblegum website now,he is under babies Jack he has only just joined them and is also waiting for this first casting/job...

hope all your jobs and castings go well this week

julie -have emailed you

hope the party for all those kids goes well even if he has got chickenpox hope his feeling ok for his casting tomorrow x

Tinkerbel5 · 11/11/2006 17:47

lindac your grandson is very cute, bless him xxx

mysonsmummy · 11/11/2006 18:08

thanks - the party is tomorrow.he only has one on his face under his chin. no newones since fri so hoping stays that way. his school would never agree to a holiday in term time so dont start me off with much hope. its just if i ask them and they so no i wont be abe to really take odd day as feel they will be watching.

have to take ds in pale t-shirts - thats the best colour to go for. how many do you take? anyone been to N11 bounds green not sure whether to drive as its so many stops on tube - but is direct. thanks

mrsratty · 11/11/2006 18:14

mysonsmummy - I used to live near Bounds Green, it's not too far from central london.

lindac · 11/11/2006 18:38

IT IS A GOUVERMENT oppps thing that schools are to let you have 10 days extra holiday days in term time,i think you have to be realy unlucky for the school to say no, when my dd was filming 2 weeks ago and we had to go to derby, i was a bit worried as she was in a new school, and couldnt lie as i needed a letter for the council to do her license, and they was great about it, said you dont only learn in school and that this was agreat learning experience, when you ask the school drop in the line that 99% of jobs and castings are at weekends and after school and it wouldnt be very often that you would need to ask oh and smile sweetly x

thorntons · 11/11/2006 18:52

lindac -just had a peek at your grandson,he is a real cutie!

housemum · 11/11/2006 19:07

This 10 days hols may be allowed by government but schools still seem to impose their own rules - one primary school near us in their brochure states that they will only allow up to 5 days! And I recently found out that the 10 days are supposed to be consecutive, so you shouldn't be asking for a day here and there out of that, but we're really lucky in that our local head (hope she gets in there!) is of the opinion that kids learn by different experiences so he's OK with time off if not excessive. Good luck with your school.

mysonsmummy · 11/11/2006 20:34

ds school is defintely not in agreement only this week we got a letter home saying not to ask for term time holidays as they are not allowed. have to be brave and go and speak to head - shes not that approachable tbh.

in my experience ive never had a casting or job after school or weekend. had one you had to be there by 3.30 - 4pm but was other side of london so had to take him out early anyway.

littlemadam · 12/11/2006 10:34

Mysonsmummy, DS school HM is the same about term time holidays, but look on shoots as life experience, so said he would prefer me to ask than to deceive them, and was very helpful.
I think licences are authorised absence and don't count in the 10 days as the Local Authority authorises them. As I understand it the school has to give a reason why they wouldn't give one and TBH as they are usually for TV stuff, it is easier.
I'd sound her out in principle, as they'll probably find out in the end one way or another, and your DS is very young isn't he??

mum2twoboyz · 12/11/2006 12:19

RE - STARNOW

Know some of you are with Starnow so hope you can help. I have just joined as saw advert for children needed but not sure how it works as sent details and got an email half an hour later saying she wasn't shortlisted. I didn't even send a picture.

How do you apply something for your children when it has your photos and details on it.

mum2twoboyz · 12/11/2006 15:44

christabel - i just have ds pics n details - not mine (only phone number)
which did u apply to??? cos they usually take ur info from whats in ur profile, as thats how they choose...

christabel · 12/11/2006 15:49

It was the travel brochure one. We are in Yorkshire so not sure if that put them off but did say paid travel expenses.
Do you put all your DS details on starnow?? I put all my own.

julie4travel · 12/11/2006 16:04

christabel- i have all my details for the id side fo things eg driving licence no etc. then his details such as hair colour eyes etc. i dont have much info in it just a bit on his personality etc. i do not put mine under the public profile. they only get my details if i submit for a job. you can log in and amend the profile over etc.

this is on mandy - too far for us!

Production: Poor Little Thing (Short Film)
Employer: Bourneouth University
Location: Bournemouth
Duration: two days, starts 5th december 2006

----------------

Payment is on a lo/no/deferred basis.
Equity. Director: Molly King. This is a four minute final year student drama for Bournemouth university shooting on the 5th and 6th of December in Bournemouth. I am looking to cast two female actors, the first (Emma), is aged between 25 and 35, with slim build. The second (mother) is aged between 40 and 50, her build is not important.

synopsis Jamie is about 7 or 8. He is a cheeky boy who has discovered he can get treats and watch television at a stranger?s house if he makes himself look sad and cold. Emma is an obsessive compulsive housewife who wants nothing more than to nurture a child. This short film is set in the nineteen fifties in a quiet, rural area. It touches upon the subject of the innocence of children and the loneliness of housewives at the time.

Apply to: Molly King, 17 Gervis Road, Bournemouth,

3 breakdowns:

  1. Female / 25-30 yrs. / White. [Others like this]

Emma is an obsessive compulsive young housewife. everything in her life has to be perfect including her house and her husband. she is very particular about the way she looks and spends a long time making herself look presentable in the morning. Emma has no idea how to be with children but loves the idea of having them, more like a pet than a child. She spends her time at home learning how to bake cakes and try out new recepies for her husbands dinner when he returns from work. Although Emma enjoys being the perfect housewife she is quite lonely and is greatful for any company in the day.

  1. Female / 41-50 yrs. / White. [Others like this]

Mother is confident and strong. she is firm but very loving with her childen, letting them know who's boss whilst being fun.

  1. Male / 6-10 yrs. / White. [Others like this]

Jamie is a dreamer and is very cheaky. he likes to play on his own as this way his game will go exactly as he wants it. he is very clever and he knows it, infact he thinks most other people to be a bit stupid. he has worked out that he can play people for treats and nearly always gets what he want because of it. He is not so much devious but oblivious to the fact that what he is doing is wrong.
