The thread in Chat has gone to thread heaven. Silly Zombie thought it wasn't due to go until tomorrow so missed her chance to ask HQ to move it here.

She slept well last night and feels reasonably well this morning.

There was a pint of water on the table, Garlic. I was rescuing things from drowning and drying the table. I've just taken cocodamol.

I'll be out most of tomorrow, mummy. Rat disposal will have to wait until friends get here on Wednesday.

This has really upset me. The bloody cancer is going to kill me eventually and I just want to have as normal a life as I can for as long as I can.

magi, the MaccyD depends on whether I can drive tomorrow or whether I'll need to spend ££££ on a taxi to the hospital. My niece will be able to get me home if it's the latter.

Have been prone with loss of feeling in one or both feet on occasion, mopping up the wreakage. The twisting of things is really not good though, there really should be far more fun had on the way down to warrant a twisted ankle. I do really hope it mends soon.

Would it help relieve some of the soreness by putting something cold on your foot ? I'm sorry you are upset, you have and are doing so well.

Oh sweetheart so sorry to hear about the fall. Falling over is disconcerting and upsetting even with no subsequent damage. I'd guess you might find more bruises today.

I hope you get your foot looked at today, they should give you some sort of support bandage which would make walking easier.
Such a nuisance if you can't drive as well.

Evening my lovelies.

I made to MaccyD in time for my breakfast. Then I went and spent a lovely hour with my darling niece before going to the hospital.

They were running an hour late but otherwise the scan went well. X-ray was a bit of a madhouse so I decided to give Minor Injuries a miss as the foot felt a lot better and I was having no problems walking on it.

I then had a leisurely Costa before doing a shop. I came home with very little food, no booze but new jeggings, pyjamas and fleecy house boots.

The foot still feels OK but it is swollen tonight and there's a lovely bruise developing. I may have walked on it a bit too much today... I'll give it as much as rest tomorrow as I can.

Bee, I popped into Boots and got an ankle support bandage after deciding against Minor Injuries.

So sorry to hear about your foot (and eau de rat!) Wishing you well as ever. xx

Oh swelling sounds not good, but being able to walk on it and still feeling OK is a good sign, surely.

Glad to hear the foot sounds OK, put a pillow or two under it in bed, should reduce the swelling.
Ask your friends to bring some arnica cream tomorrow if you haven't got any and keep the support thingy off when you're not walking

I have arnica. I put some on last night and again this morning. I'll put more on when I go up to bed.

I'll stay off of it as much as possible tomorrow and use a footstool to elevate it when I'm sitting down.

I've just filled my hot water bottle. I'm going to take a couple of sleepy pills and go to bed.

I am sorry to hear about your foot/ankle issue though, that sounds rubbish :( but rings bells for me re. being Herceptin side-effect; pretty sure another friend who was on that had similar neurological weirdities, will check. Although I'm equally sure that you'll be having support from relevant people who Know About This Sort Of Thing anyway. x

Sorry to hear that your foot is swollen though, hoping the arnica will help it. I do what is known here as "The Treatment" for twisted ankles, a bucket of hot water and a bucket of very cold water, and put the foot in alternate buckets for as long as you can tolerate it.

Allinonenow, that sounds like a form of torture! Does it bring swelling down? I don't have a remedy for swelling, just pick the best tube of lotion from the first aid box and hope there's more than Preparation H in there (though I suppose that could be good for swelling) Germalene is pretty good to take the edge off mild aches.
