lou - I agree. Anyone comes anyone near my daughter when she is aged 12 andI won't be responsible for my actions. Heaven knows what DH would do!

I teach 12 year olds (different types of schools so whole range of children types and backgrounds) and, sorry, I have yet to meet ANY 12 year old who is emotionally old enough to deal with AL the consequences of having sex. Maybe controversial comment to make on this thread but just my honest opion. Not intending to offend anyone, maybe you guys are the one of the mature 12 year old that I am yet to meet.

19, just to get it over and done with, as I was starting to feel like a freak. then waited until i met DH at 21.

Does anyone else remember there being a sudden switch from "if you have sex you're a slut" to "if you're a virgin, you're weird" at about 17?

Youngest person I knew of at school was 14, but she was making a point (used to cut herself and stuff) so Iguess we were all rather well-behaved!

I was 15 with a lad I was going out with - we split up when I was 16.5. Was in his house whilst his mum was at work.

And not a day goes past when I don't regret it

I was 15 and it was at the bottom of a mountain in Wales with my friends cousin. It was rubbish and no I never saw him again!! (he had 3 other girls on the go!!)

16 on the floor of my bedroom - my parents alseep down the hall! He was 18 and we had dated off and on for two years but were getting 'serious' about each other. We dated for three more years and still keep in touch. Wonderful, fab. Like a revelation!

14 and it was with a guy my friend fancied for ages. I was horrible back then! I didn't enjoy it much and would definately wait longer if I had my time again.

14 with a boy we had been hanging around with for 6 months, he was almost 16. Round friends house. Was only one in group of 4 girls not to have done it, so had too much to drink and thought why not. It was awful and I was thinking at the time 'hmmm is this is' 20 seconds later it was over. We never did it again, but he told people I laid there like a sack of spuds and was called king edwards for a week, until I said that there was nothing there to do anything with, and he got the stick until he left school. I then found out all girl-friends were lying and I was the first to actually do it. So wish I had waited for my first proper boyfriend.

I was convinced that if I had sex without adequate contraception I'd get pregnant so I put it off till I was 18 and on the pill. (I was right about getting pregnant, as I found out 19 years later!)

Always thought I was pretty old, as it happens - quite embarrassed about it really.
