Once in Basingstoke I was in Costas (as you do) and there was a supremely spotty greasy ugly man with a girlfriend who while I do not know her and cannot speak for her looked like a hooker (but without many takings)
A copper came in to ask for his autograph, then loads of screeching fans bombarded my table and his ..
I asked very loudly who it was.. someone accused me of being a dizzy dim foreigner (ha ha as if tourists lounge in B'Stoke) and exclaimed it was Phil Neville..
I said inflammatory like...
ohh nobody properly important then eh....

Coming to this conversation late in the day, but for what it's worth: Neville, a sex God? Nearly threw up my supper, but was laughing too much to heave.

Taking of sporty blokes, have you seen what those French rugby players have done in the name of charity? (Thank God for charity!) Would attempt a link but, strangely, images of fit French blokes with no clothes on have been picked up on by numerous sections of the WWW and, knowing my luck, I'll probably end up linking in to some gay porn site. Not very mumsnet.

There must be soemthing in the air (ie more than the usual pms type thing) I have been bitching and charging round like a bear with a sore head who got out the wrong side of the bed and lost a pound and found a dirty penny...

My Dh was very happy, it was his team that beat Man U yesterday, only time I have not been embarassed to have my 2 year old seen out in her pompey top which she was adamant she was wearing yesterday. She is fluent at the pompey chant as well...very sad...especially as I am a LIVERPOOL supporter!

jmg, it does get a bit better - ds2 is 11, when I ask him what he did at school he says maths and english! Very enlightening.

Abramovitch is not the wonderful guy you make him out to be - he has an extremenly dodgy past and should have been prosecuted for something or other but cut a deal with the goverment in Russia - can't remember what exactly but he is not the poor little orphan made good that he is painted to be!!

(Will have a search - am sure the thing I read was in the times!!)
