yes with rascals , how about your lo? ( i take it lo stands for little one, trying to get use to these words!)

Rubystar77 · 15/09/2006 23:36

is your daughter ellemae? she is gorgeous!

Xavielli · 15/09/2006 23:40

Hi all.

Probably been done before, but who are the most reliable agencies?

housemum · 15/09/2006 23:45

Just seeing the posts re Next catalogue made me think of something for those of you new to modelling - my DD had Next as her first job

  • we did the shoot, had a really good time, there was her and 2 other girls doing lots of shots between them alone and in groups in various outfits. The kids behaved, the photographer said the shots looked good. They still didn't use the shots though in the end!! So even if you get a job, remember not to get too excited until you see if they use your LO.

I don't mean to be doom and gloom, but I was quite disappointed when they had taken so many pics and DD was doing all the right things - I could have understood if she was having an off day or if they were trying for one shot - so i thought it best to warn you. To cap it all her next job was the cover of Prima Baby and they never used that either!!!!! Thank goodness for Mother & Baby magazine - they used about 6 pictures from their photo shoot over the space of a year (and I have bought a lot of copies of their magazine now.....)

dariusmummy · 15/09/2006 23:52

hi housemum what agency is you dd with? Im new to all this. But would really like me db to be a model.

dylansluckymum · 16/09/2006 08:04

thanks housemum i have been keeping that in the back of my mind, especially as some of the photos aren't planned to be used for absolute ages anyway! i've been cheekily asking for a polaroid from the shots that have them, so that if they don't get used at least i have a keepsake for ds when he gets older!

thanks ruby for your kind words i had a look at rascals and i must say your dd is very sweet! are you locked into a year contract or can you apply to other agencies?

ellesmum i'm just going to send you an email about clothes for today!!

christabel · 16/09/2006 10:14

Not sure if anyone can help can anyone recommend kids modelling agency in Yorkshire. We live in Leeds.

ellesmum · 16/09/2006 10:53

ruby - yes my dd is ellemae, she is with kids london.

dylansmum - i think elles going to be wearing a denham skirt and pink top, bit worried about the shoot as elle had tempreture last night, but is fine this morning. looking forward to meeting u.

PhoenixGirl · 16/09/2006 11:01

christabel · 16/09/2006 12:08

elle31 · 16/09/2006 13:31

Still trying to post a pic of my daughter does anyone have advice.

Tinkerbel5 · 16/09/2006 13:54

elle it looks like you are missing out the whole url, you should have......www

Tinkerbel5 · 16/09/2006 13:55

christabel try on www.childmodelling.net as a few of the regulars on are a shoot today.

yackertyyack · 16/09/2006 14:45

mrratty - think i saw your dd's pic in mothercare today. Is she wearing a witches outfit with hat and looking sort of sideways???

christabel · 16/09/2006 15:22

Anyone - can you register with more than one model agency or are you under contract to stick to one only.

Tinkerbel5 · 16/09/2006 16:01

christabel you can only have 1 agent for modelling, so the best advice is to be certain when you choose an agent.

littlepea · 16/09/2006 16:03

Well what a disaster the cm net shoot was.
Ive changed my name for this post so a not to caue offence, but!

Tiny, messy garden, and 4-5 photot taken after a 2 hour drive through traffic

Complete waste of time

Tinkerbel5 · 16/09/2006 16:19

littlepea sorry to hear that, I would be peed off asell

YummyMummy21 · 16/09/2006 16:40

Doesnt sound like much fun littlepea, Go on tell us who you really are. Im dying to know. Was it at someones house then? I thought they were going to book a studio?

Christabel> Some agencies are sole rep. and some are not. If you are with a sole rep agency then you can only be with one. I dont think that there are many agencies that are not sole rep now though. HTH

Are many people coming to the meet-up tomorrow?

Take Care xXx

lindac · 16/09/2006 17:09

we also went to the cm shoot the traffic was horrendous once over the wandsworth bridge, i know what your saying about the garden ! but i dont suppose your see it in the pic's, but i did think, god they could have used my garden !
But the pic's looked like they was good,it was experience thats for sure
they didnt use a studio they used someones garden that they got from gumtree

littlepea · 16/09/2006 17:27

lindac, how many pics did they take of your LO?

I swear they only took 4 of mine, after the nightmare drive we were in and out in 5 mins!

lindac · 16/09/2006 17:29

Hi
it depends on the agent some are sole rep like kids london, bruce and brown, others are not like bizzykids, bma, so you can go with more then one agent

lindac · 16/09/2006 17:33

id say they took about 6-7 we wasnt there for long either, we did get there late because of the traffic, and we didnt have that far to go,we got home realy quick which was good as i was dying for a cup of tea !

dylansluckymum · 16/09/2006 17:48

we had a pretty awful drive as well and it seemed like she hardly took any photos. she didn't seem to keen i have to say, the photographer that is. she didn't interact with ds once, just took the pics and that was it. never said a word to us, not even hello. isabel thought she got some nice pics though so we'll have to see. did you get a load of the size of those spiders!!! i hope they didn't pay much for the use of that garden.

littlepea · 16/09/2006 17:54

Im glad it wasnt just me that was disapointed with how it went.

I know Isabel reads this site still and I didnt want to be mean because she is nice.

I just feel it was very poorly done and thats a shame when parents spent time and effort getting their kids there
