OK ... I've had this Fridge for years and I have to ask wtf is it?

In my fridge (US style fridge freezer) there is a clear perspex box

it has sides and a front, but a dip in a front .. it is the entire depth of the fridge but only about 8" high .. it has a ridged bottom

it does not fit cans of drink .. well it would fit one on its end but not wide enough for 2

it is not shaped for eggs

it is not a bottle holder

WTF is it??

nope ... there are 2 vegetable drawers at the bottom of the fridge

plus meat drawers under the shelf so its not a meat drawer either

well there's a cheese and dairy shelf in the door which closes .. so I don't think its a cheese box

it's not attached to the fridge in any way if that helps

Americans find cheese a great source of mirth for some reason. I doubt they would dignify it with its own compartment.

Its a narrow box .. I didn't specify did I?

Its probably about 7" wide .. about 8" high and the entire depth of the fridge

too late .. I have taken a pic .. am waiting for it to download from camera .. .of course camera is full of 145 pictures / movies from holidays so it might take a while

I really really NEED to know WTF it is

Is it a sausage box for raw sausages??
In bettawere catalogue you can buy one of those. Its a clear plastic box, sausage shapped with ridge/grooves on the bottom.

EGG CONTAINER!

It is for eggs. According to the picture you oput them in loose. And it's labelled "Egg container". And it has a picture of it full of eggs.

I leave my eggs in the carton stood on a shelf though.
