As most of you know, I'm having my second mastectomy on Thursday. I will almost certainly need to have more chemotherapy.

This is my thread for those who wish to walk beside me on my journey.

Yesterday I slept. Then I slept some more. I ate dinner. I went to bed and slept until 7.00 this morning.

mummy, I'm going to the appointment on my own. I have my list of points / questions so shouldn't forget to ask something important.

I'm looking forward to my MaccyD breakfast.

I wish I could remember the doctor jokes my dad used to tell his oncologist, he had a stack of them. His favourite wind up was to sit in the waiting room reading a book called something like 'medical blunders' and laugh his socks off.

This is how much hair came out this morning. Then at least that much more came out in the shower. Don't ask what happened when I turned the hair dryer on. It was like a blizzard! I think I may have just washed my hair for the last time for several months...

Eek! That's one huge furball there... Mind the cats don't choke on them!

You are a brave old stick. Keep up with the G and t (best medecine I believe for any ailment). I'm glad you have your cats and good friends around. And us lot of course (the Mumsnet Zombettes).

Wow, that's quite impressive. I hope everything goes well today.

I'm back from my oncology appointment.

We are going to continue with the Docetaxel but at a further reduced dose. I will also have injections of GCSF on days 2 - 4 of the cycle to stimulate my bone marrow. That should prevent a repetition of the drastic fall in my blood counts.

I will definitely be starting Herceptin next cycle. Hope the piriton fairies are ready to play.

I've come away with what I wanted treatment plan wise so I'm a happy Zombie.

Good old Zombie. Naughty white blood cells. They are lazy little buggers.

Hope you are eating and sleeping well too. It all contributes to the health bank you know.

Glad you have a good plan of your treatment ahead . If you are having the treatment at a reduced rate, does this mean you will have to have more treatments ? Glad you will have something to counteract the bad reaction you had last week. Seems like your body ended a lot of sleep after your late nights and busy weekend !
