DD didn't have an assesment so I'm not sure what it's like. I would be interested to see their offices though!

mrratty - i will post on here how posh they are next week!!!

thorntons · 02/08/2006 18:22

Hi All,hope you are well! Yummymummy ,great news re dd being shortlisted! Have everything crossed for you that she gets it ! xx

littlemadam · 02/08/2006 18:38

We didn't have an assessment either, but went up to meet the girls in the office when we went for our photoshoot. If you are going by tube, its a lot quicker to walk thro the park to get there!!

They are lovely, Kipsey is really friendly, and I found it nicely informal. I think a new girl has just started, I spoke to her last Friday and again on Monday. Anyone else know??

We had a casting on Monday for a probiotic milk drink, we were no 59 mid afternoon so really busy!! I though no chance, but then BB rang to say liked him a lot but would I allow them to cut his hair to half its length???

I said no, particularly as we are shortlisted for an M and S commercial on 14th and heard no more. Now wondering if I did the right thing, would anyone else have done it??

ellesmum · 02/08/2006 18:40

thats a shame julie, i have no idea what to expect as it will be my first interview with an agency.

would apreciate it if anyone knows what the process is

ellesmum · 02/08/2006 18:43

the lady i spoke to at b and b was called nita, maybe shes the new girl, littlemadame how old is your son has he done well with them sounds like hes doing well at the mo.

mrratty · 02/08/2006 18:48

littlemadam - if your boy has long hair I imagine it's a feature that makes him stand out so I personally wouldn't.
Good luck!!!!!!
I spoke to the new girl a few times alst week but never caught her name properly, it's not Nita though as she has been there all the while DD has.

littlemadam · 02/08/2006 18:49

Hi Ellesmum, Nita has been there since we joined in March, she is realy nice!

DS is 6, and we were quite quiet at first, a BBC drama and Woolies shoot, but in the last month have done casting for Persil TV ad (he got to be chosen as stand in before it was cancelled casting for M and S TV ad- on shortlist , Junior shoot, and casting for probiotic milk.

Your little girl is gorgeous, I'm sure she will do really well whoever she goes with, just see who you feel more comfortable with.

mrratty · 02/08/2006 18:51

littlemadam - do you know what the M&S casting was for. was it clothes?

OP posts:
littlemadam · 02/08/2006 18:53

Mrratty, do you think Aisha (sp) has left? Kipsey was doing dome phoning a couple of weeks ago, so thought someone might have left or they are really busy

That was my thoughts on the hair too, though it was looking particularly wild, we'd spent the weekend at the beach, and it was windy on Monday so DS's hair was BeeGee style (showing my age now!!)

Your DD has done so well, I saw the Mothercare picture, I would love something like that to keep!!!!

littlemadam · 02/08/2006 18:54

Sorry, crossed, it was Christmas I think, is your DD the little girl that is also on pencil???

mrratty · 02/08/2006 18:58

I was wondering if Ayeshia was maybe on holiday and being covered b the new girl or had maybe left as she was always the one who called me. I hope she hasn't left as she was always really lovely.

OP posts:
littlemadam · 02/08/2006 19:00

I thought so too! The new girl did seem very professional though. I suppose it is holiday time...forget sometimes!

mrratty · 02/08/2006 19:00

We got a call last week to go for the fitting which I was told was a one off, all the other kids had been picked for the advert. We didn't go for the casting but when we left they said they may call the agency next week to let us no what is going on, we didn't hear back so they don't want her.

OP posts:
littlemadam · 02/08/2006 19:05

I don't know then, when I asked on Friday, they said no-one had been confirmed, so you may still be on. Was this the TV ad?? Apparently they have had four lots of auditions!

mrratty · 02/08/2006 19:10

Yes it was. They asked for DD's measurements, decided they were the correct ones then gave her clothes for an 18-24 month old - she somehow squeeze into them. The kids on Friday hadn't been confirmed but it really felt like they were going to use them by the way they were talking.

littlemadam · 02/08/2006 19:12

Oh well seems like we are not on either We were told to leave six days in August free, so will check tomorrow with BB, so can arrange some days out!

marymay · 02/08/2006 19:50

hi littlemadam..my ds got a no for the marks tv ad .he has got a casting tomorrow for george at asda .
anyone else going?

littlemadam · 02/08/2006 20:08

We aren't but good luck, sure he will do well!! Let us know how you get on!

ellesmum · 02/08/2006 20:57

thanks littlemaddam sound like your little on has done really well with b and b.

littlemadam · 02/08/2006 21:05

We were with Bizzykids before that, and didn't have a job! I bet your little girl will be very busy...we seem to have been shortlist bridesmaids, but not the blushing bride!!

I hope the meeting goes well, and good luck deciding, it is so hard, but they are both fantastic agencies. Are there any BB mums with DD's Elles age on here??

ellesmum · 02/08/2006 21:09

im not sure if there are any mums with dds who are 2, would be good to get some advise as i know 2 year olds arnt the greatest age group to work with, b and b mentioned on the phone that they didnt have contracts how does that work?

ellesmum · 02/08/2006 21:20

just shows how changing angencies can make all the difference, especially changing to one with less kids on their books as internal competition is much less, plus some clients only use certain agencies for jobs.

littlemadam · 02/08/2006 21:29

I'm not sure, they are sole rep, but I did a brochure job for a friends cashmere company last month, and BB were OK about it as was a friend and we were paid in cashmere! Think they work on trust.

On castings/jobs I have done has been generally older children so can't help you there. They were UA/BB/KL Think that KL and BB will get most of the same clients. See how you feel about the people who will book Elle, who do you feel more at home with?

julie4travel · 02/08/2006 21:58

ellesmum- the ts one we went to last month was like a creche and that threw me a bit, it was totally different to sw and ncs so i was being nosey if anyone had an experience so i know what to expect this time. i personally prefer one on one appointments, yet who knows!
