Hello...

OP posts:
julie4travel · 02/08/2006 22:15

hi another question , to any b and b people. initially you do not pay anything to go on the website yet 25 pounds is took from first earnings. how soon did you do the photoshoot and was that just a one off £120 ? did you have to pay anything else or is that it. I don't want to keep spending out lots of money! thanks

ellesmum · 02/08/2006 22:21

littlemaddam i dont know who i feel comftable with yet as i didnt need to have an interview with kids they took her on with just the pics i sent in, ive oly been with them for 2 weeks and havent spoke 2 them since, i like the fact that im going to meet b and b and see the work that theve done and b able to ask questions.

julie - i hope its not like a creche do u know if they are going to take pics?

ellesmum · 02/08/2006 22:23

do u have to pay £120 for photos? didnt know that! i thought they were free, is the photos optional or a must do u know?

ellesmum · 02/08/2006 22:26

someone on childmodelling net whos been 2 a b and b interview said they just have a chat with u and then u sign a contract with them but when i spoke to nita she said they dont have a contract?

julie4travel · 02/08/2006 22:34

ellesmum- maybe i need to double check i could have made a mistake, i thought they said we had to pay it directly to the photographer and photos are on the website within half an hour of them being took , i will email them and ask to be sure! logging off now night

littlemadam · 02/08/2006 22:36

I'm not sure on this so feel free to correct me!!

Julie>>>There is an admin charge which is taken out of earnings, I think £30 or so, and the photos are optional and I think £150 taken out of earnings or £100 cash. This is to pay photographer etc. You can go without but I think they get a lot of work. You do get a copy of model book photo, so its reallt nice.

julie4travel · 02/08/2006 22:39

littlemadam- thanks, that clears it up a bit

if people dont take the photos though , how would b and b submit their details to clients?

think thats the average sort of figure. my daughter is going with ts and i just wrote a cheque for 170 and the shoot will be 80 pounds in Oct

littlemadam · 02/08/2006 22:45

think they submit via web/email.
They do quite a lot of TV, ds is 6 and did a BBC drama in April and have done 3 castings for TV ads in July, shortlisted/pencelled for all, but not the main prize so your DS should do well!! They don't do films as such though I think. Good luck

ellesmum · 02/08/2006 23:04

julie- thats alot of money to shed out ts said yes 2 my daughter 2 ive heard they are a good agency.

thorntons · 02/08/2006 23:38

Evening everyone! Ellesmum -my dd is 2 years 7 months and with B and B ,been with them for over 2 years . I think only kids of 4 years of age (possibly 3?) are included in model book ,which is optional .Reason being as kids under that age keep changing in appearance so much . B and B send out headsheets with pics of their kids monthly to all their clients . B and B introduced an annual charge of £25 for website maintenance this april. It was taken out of dd`s earnings. Ellesmum - imo B &B and Kids London are very similar re work they get for their kids .Your dd will do well with either of these agencies. Good luck with your decisionxx

thorntons · 02/08/2006 23:43

Forgot to add that I try to remember to regularly email B and B updated pics we have taken of dd and if they are suitable they update their website . This pic is also used for the headsheet which is sent out monthly.HTH.

cyan · 02/08/2006 23:56

Thorntons, yummy, lanismum, thumbs, tiger have emailed you all finally!!! god im useless at times!

ellesmum · 03/08/2006 08:07

thanks thornton, has your daughter done well with b and b?

did u have to sign a contract with them?

thorntons · 03/08/2006 08:58

Morning all ! Cyan ,thanks for your email, will reply shortly ! Ellesmum ,no we didnt sign a contract and didnt have an "interview" so have never met the agency team personally. DD was only 4 months old at the time when I signed her up ! I am very pleased with the agency,dd has done some lovely jobs eg 3 a day shoot for "Zara" ,M&S ,Debenhams ,Huggies, Junior Pregnancy and Baby and Junior magazines to name a few. .I work part time for an airline too so sometimes have to turn down jobs and castings.

littlemadam · 03/08/2006 09:11

Hi all>>>thorntons, wasn't sure it was different for the little ones, that would make a difference for ellesmum, sorry if I've misled.

Good luck this week with all castings/jobs!!

julie4travel · 03/08/2006 09:24

morning all- just preparing for my daughters party. hope it doesn't rain any more as a bouncy castle in the garden!

thorntons · 03/08/2006 09:41

Julie,Happy Birthday to your DD!! Have a lovely time today, fingers crossed no more rain !!
Littlemadam, great to hear DS is doing really well with B and B ! Wow ,fingers crossed he will get a TV job soon they generally pay well too. No need to apologise about not being sure whether toddlers and babies were in model book or not ..Thought I would just add what I knew as my munchkin same age group as Ellesmum`s DD

littlemadam · 03/08/2006 10:52

Thanks Thorntons! Just spoken to B and B, and they think M and S won't be using DS, though he hasn't been released yet. I think I prefer the yes/no castings to the he's shortlisted and you have to wait ones!!!! For this one we had to sideline six days in August!

mimi1uk · 03/08/2006 11:18

hi guys well its been v quite for us !! sent off mew pictures fingers crossed for something to come our way !

strawberrymilkshake · 03/08/2006 14:49

Going to see stuart little show tommorow at mk theatre as part of her treat too so they have been a bit spoilt recently. hope any castings went well. logging off now as really need a good sleep!

strawberrymilkshake · 03/08/2006 19:51

I have just gone on to chessinton website to book tickets for us on monday and dd is on there in the animal section holding a ferret upto her face and with her head through a dome looking at the meer cats, it was so weird as i didnt know they were using her for the site i thought they were using her pics for the archives. lol i had to take a double look.

Julie glad your daughters day went well. have a lovely sleep you deserve it.
